And it's a matter of allowing your passions for good things to have more control in your life.
Half of the talents I have mastered now I started out with absolutely no skills in whatsoever. But I practiced and failed after learning a lot. But I kept after it because it interested me. The other half of my talents were built upon those other talents.
I get frustrated and cuss and fume and pout when trying to gain a new skill. But that's because I care...and make no mistake...I'm having a blast doing it.
Because anything worth learning and doing is not going to be easy. It's going to be difficult and time consuming. Otherwise it really isn't a skill.
Some hobbies and skills require money...some just require pocket change. Some are just time consuming.

Since I read almost all Dork Diaries, I can say I am not really like Nikki Maxwell, who has a bit of an inferiority complex because her locker is right next to her arch enemy Mackenzie Hollister who is kinda like Nellie Olson to Laura Ingalls Wilder. Nikki calls Mackenzie a 'CCP' which stands for 'cute, cool and popular'
I dont think I was that concerned about being popular or not in school. And one of my good friends was a rich kid even when I wasnt. So...?! But that was high school and years ago
I think in the US its very pronounced how schools push the whole 'being popular' thing. I wondered why this was so and figured its because everyone wants to be president and its only determined by popular vote.

I'm changing my mind about my identity. I now identify as a dog trapped in a human body. I just want to lay around and sleep all day while waiting for people to come home and play with me and feed me and go on walks with me. And I want to be spoiled rotten with lots of treats.

In nz, the names people call each other arent related to how popular or unpopular you are.
men are usually called blokes
and women, for some strange reason, are called sheilas.
if you are smart you might be called brainbox, or scholar, but its more of a term of respect rather than anything else.
athletes and sportspeople are not called jocks. They are called legends or heroes if they happen to win anything.

Double S, had to go with Prince although cringed as I did cause in my mind I kept picturing a visual of like Robin Hood men in tights as the princely image.....LOL I loved playing sports and there was a bit of popularity that went with that since it did put you in the limelight.
Overall though would have to also say other as well, because at the core of me I am truly a loner and like being so. So wherever being a loner and being athletically popular met reckon that is where I stood as what I perhaps may identify as.
These days I would have to say I more identify as a lifelong customer of Ben Gay cause my athletic endeavors often leaves me applying it very liberally to my joints and muscles afterwards.......LOL

I really dont get sci fi. Also not a huge fan of fantasy or horror. I kept thinking what do I do with that 700 plus page volume of the Wizards of Rondo other than use it as a doorstop.
The nerds would not be into libraries they would have gone virtual and downloaded all books to their brains already.

It isn't actually pancakes it is coffee.
Sounds more like a cat than a dog. Just saying... I've known a lot of dogs and a lot of cats, and that definitely sounds like a cat.

I just finished an intensive 3 day hands on course of coffee roasting. I skipped the barrista training. But it was 3 days of roasting and cupping(tasting) of various coffees from Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Brazil, Columbia, Peru, India, and Indonesia. Coffee roasting is a massive attention to detail. Seconds and processes matter. There's a ton of knobs and dials on a coffee roaster and I was using them all.
5 degrees and 11 seconds make a huge difference in how your coffee tastes.
Nope...skipped training as a barrista. I have no idea as to how to steam the milk properly. Then the art on top of the cup? Um ......I can watch videos and again I'm lost.
I thought that this was a very low skill thing. It isn't. This all takes a lot more craftsmanship and finesse than I knew.
If your barrista puts art on top of your great coffee...tip them well. They deserve every penny.

Again, to put it on topic... What does this mean you identify as?
And I never have been to those places where they do foam art. I'm more for utility than decoration.
