Would love to have a vacay in Hawaii. I had one in Cook Islands which is close enough and was lovely, spent 5 days there. Went with a friend who's family is from there.
I went on a cruise around my country and also Australia and back, that one was 14 days on my own. I had dinner companions though and got to know a lot of Australians and also retired people lol. I liked having a cabin to myself, the only thing I didn't like was I got seasick the first 4 days! I won a prize in the hula hoop contest.

I would go back to Cook Islands if I get the chance...and maybe go on a cruise with friends but I would have to get a cabin more in the centre of the ship to avoid sea sickness.
Are you retired?
it's nice to hear you vacation here & there. you have established unforgettable memories. no, not retired but half retired. a year or so ago, i sold a portion of my landscape business. i work around 2 to 3 days a week at it. the other time is spent on antiques, gold & silver coins, playing drums, jamming with some musicians, sightseeing with my wife, exploring the adirondacks finally, gourmet dining, attending sales, museums & much more. we vacation every winter, st. thomas just recently, but my wife is vacationing two more times. i was originally going to go on 1 of them but backed out, had enough til next year which is Hawaii.

Sounds like you have a good life and get to do fun things.
I know a retired couple have a campervan, and they are constantly going away, I can't keep up with all the places they go to, fly to, drive to.
I like going on train rides too. I think there's something about trains, the ease of travel, and the soothing rhythm of it. Driving yourself can be stressful and tiring.

yes, i enjoyed a very busy fun life from about age 20. i was blessed by God & continue to be blessed by God. but it wasn't easy. i suffered lots of heartache the way i grew up plus being born with poor vision. but i possess a huge amount of ambition & acted on it. in the past 3 years, i've been thanking God & Jesus for such a magnificent active life. in fact, a funny thing about having lots of fun: many times, i would enjoy so much fun i would say to myself: "that's enough, slow down, i want to go back to work"! that was in the summer season, mainly from June to September.

I try to do little day trips around town to different places I not been before and appreciate that I live in such a diverse city. I have beaches close by, and forests, streams, and lots of dormant volcanoes lol

neat to have quick access to your fun. there's a giant forest right next to us: the adirondack mountains.

Is that where Adirondack chairs come from? I thought they were Cape Cod chairs.
You can get plastic versions of them at the Warehouse.

yes. about the same thing. i think the guy's name is tom lee who invented the style.

I'm going into town to see a musical tonite. My friend who is also on school holidays (from uni) is coming with me. It's nice to hang out with friends during the school holidays, instead of fitting things around school/work.

Yesterday spent the morning singing karaoke, then having lunch and doing a bit of shopping. You could do all these things on the weekend/Saturday but it's nice doing them during the week, take our time and not having to cram leisure activities in one day with everyone else.
