I’ve been in many relationships that always ended up in the toilet.

I got married at 20 to a guy I met on eharmony. I thought we were great together at first until I saw his true colors 2 years into our marriage. We divorced after 5 years together and I saw that he remarried 4 months after our divorce. Just recently I was dumped by my fiance whom I loved more than anything in this world. I was so hurt because we spent 5 years together as well. I wanted to do Bible study with him everyday, and pray over our life together. I tried leading him back to Jesus when he would get in his head and I would remind him who he was created for. We were unequally yoked. One month after he left, he got with someone else and they immediately slept together, which ruined me even more. I prayed for him daily and I still pray for him to this day.

Satan tells me lies by saying I have a pattern of being with a man for 5 years and I’ll never find the man I’m destined to have.

I always remind myself that God is in control and that I need to hold onto my faith.

I know that God has a man out there for me. I’m in His Word every day, praying hard for the man he has for me, and thanking him for the man he made.

I pray that my future husband chases after God to find me!

My mother says “wait on God and let one in our church find you.”

Sometimes trusting God and waiting on his timing is easier said than done. Patience is one of the fruits of the spirit and I’m terrible at being patient. I’m not saying I don’t trust him, I do trust in him and his timing. It’s just hard sometimes, and I’ve been lonely.

I always ask God, “When is he coming, Lord? Have I met him before? Is he just around the corner? Will he actually find me beautiful even with my tattoos and other flaws?”

His answer: “Just wait, my daughter. Your time is coming.”

I believe that God has chosen the best person for you. And, as banal as it may seem, you just need to keep praying and waiting.
And you definitely shouldn't settle for less. Several times, I could have entered into relationships, but I prayed and realized that it was not what God had prepared for me. So, at 27, I am still single, but I am sure that when the person God has destined for me comes along, all those years of waiting will be worth it.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah, 29:11

I swear I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade. However, it is my belief that if you're looking it will fail... if you just go on with your life establish yourself then you are the prize and perhaps someone will find you. If someone doesn't find you at least you will be in a closer relation with Jesus who should be your focus all the time anyway. I spent years in different relationships and apparently, I like females that are bad for me, as well as i was never actually ready I guess, but either way I got to thinking Jesus wasn't married, and Paul seems to think it's better not to marry unless you just can't control yourself.

Howdy y'all and welcome to the forum.

Eh... Maybe. Maybe not. What happens if you're still single at 80? Will you get mad at God?

God told the woman at the well He could give her what she needs. He didn't say that was a perfect husband. She had already tried that road over and over, because that's what society told her she needed to make her life complete, and it kept failing.

Mind you, I'm not saying you WON'T find the perfect man for you. I'm just saying nobody knows what God wants your life to be. It might have a spouse in it. It might not.

I believe that God has chosen the best person for you. And, as banal as it may seem, you just need to keep praying and waiting.

I'm 47 and it hasn't happened for me yet. It may happen next week. It may never happen. But marriage does not a life make, and it is certainly not a God-given guarantee in most lives. LIVING makes a life.

I guess marrying in haste makes one repent at leisure. Marrying at 20 is so young.
Then another 5 years, so 25? Then another 5 years - so 30 years.
Jesus entered his ministry when he was in his 30s. He didn't marry - he died 3 years later. Spoiler - He then was brought back to life again.
Jesus always talked about how people wanted him to rush into doing this or that, but He simply said 'My time has not yet come'
So, while age 30 seems like a long time, it really isn't if God had planned for you to be truly loved at a certain time of your life, when you are at the stage that you are ready to receive or accept it.

All those secular love songs about love lost and breaking up etc? All sung and written by the young and foolish. We often don't know what love really is until God shows us. It sounds like the first two fiances did not have God's love in their lives. Don't be bitter about it, just chalk it up to experience.

The famous verses about love in the Bible? 1 corinthians 13.
I get that people really want to find 'their other half' or 'the one' it's like society or families just push young people (especially women, who really can be just naive girls at heart) into things they are in no way ready for. I don't think that's fair, and then people feel like failures when it inevitably does not work out. I think our coming of age is not often when we think it might be. Supposedly boys are men at 13, or it could be 20, and girls at 16, becoming women then or the age they can bear a child, but as they say age can be just a number.

Мне 47, и со мной этого еще не случилось. Может, случится на следующей неделе. А может, и никогда не случится. Но брак не определяет всю жизнь, и уж точно не является гарантированным Божьим даром для большинства людей. Жизнь определяет сама себя.
I'm not saying that marriage is the only thing that defines your life. Waiting for the right person doesn't mean sitting around and doing nothing until they come along. I lead a full life by strengthening my relationship with God, working, traveling, and doing what I enjoy.

God said that it is not good for a person to be alone, and until He personally tells me otherwise, that it is better for me to be alone, I believe that He has prepared the right person for me.

Wow! I said that? I didn't even know I could talk russian!

As a matter of nerd curiosity, I have to ask: Do you type in russian, then run it through google auto-translate? The reason I ask is, your posts don't have the usual translation artifacts google translate leaves in a post.

As for whether God has someone for you, that is up to God. If God made you a personal promise that there is a man you will one day meet, that's between you and God (and I guess the guy too.) But there is nowhere in the Bible where God promised there is a match for every person. And if there was such a promise, I have seen many times where God failed to deliver on it.

I personally know of a lot of times when people have told a single person "God has the perfect person for you" and then they never found said person. Either those people were wrong or God failed. So I really don't want to go around making promises for God that God never made.

Impatience is really just a symptom of not being content with your life as it is. Maybe you feel there's something missing in your life that you think you need to be happy. One of the great keys to success in life is to be satisfied with your situation as it exists today. That doesn't mean you don't have goals or ambitions, it just means your peace of mind doesn't depend on whether you reach every goal or not.

The right person yes , but that doesn't also mean ' perfect ' . My hubby and I drive each other crazy at times , in many ways we r total opposites . Relationships take work and effort so don't expect that other person to b perfect because chances r they won't b and , u may not b perfect in their eyes either . It's all about love and love isn't a check list it's an emotion and often an irrational one . Love comes first then , work , work at making it work because u love that person so much that u want them with u all day every day . Throw your checklist away and go for the one who's happiness means more to u than your own does . Most people do not want to b liked / admired because they fulfill a certain criteria , they want to b loved and adored for the person they r and that includes all their faults and failings . Go for the one that u can't imagine being without ever ❤️ .

Wow, I used the automatic page translation and didn't know that your message would stay in Russian, haha.
Unfortunately, I translate most of my text, sometimes I edit the translation manually, I use microsoft translator.

Yes, I understand what you mean, it's just that in English I may not be able to express my thoughts as well as in Russian 😅

I understand what you mean, I know that relationships, like marriage, require a lot of work, partly because of this I am still not in a relationship, because I don't have rose-colored glasses about relationships. When I talk about that very person, I don't mean someone perfect, I mean someone with whom you will share the same perspective in life, and no matter what happens around you, you will be on the same team.
I have a lot of thoughts about this matter, but I don't know enough English words to express them, haha.

Sorry, being random but I once had rose-coloured glasses, but have now switched to blue.

If your fiancé was habitual in wandering off from Jesus, he was bound to follow the same pattern and go away from you.

His desertion says far more about him, than it could ever say about you. Don't take it personally, because it's not your failing to be saddled with.
