Are you referring to the dead you're in contact with?
And if anyone is speaking on God's behalf and saying this they are speaking against the bible.

Romans 14:2
One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables.

I Corinthians 8:8
Food will not commend us to God. We are no worse off if we do not eat, and no better off if we do.

I Timothy 4:1-5
Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.

Romans 14:17
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit

In Pauls day most people were Pagans. There were no family Butcher shops. In the Cities to get meat
one went to a Temple for it. The meat was often offered to Idols before being sold. The problem Paul addressed was not whether to eat meat or not but where the meat came from and what had been done to it before it was sold. Some Christians were eating vegetables to avoid having to enter a Pagan temple and eating meat that had been offered to Idols.

I eat meat but if I invited someone to dinner and I knew they were Vegetarian/Vegan I would make sure
that my meal would not contain anything that might offend or upset my guest. It is a simple thing to
enquire before hand whether there is anything that they couldn't eat. The same goes for people with allergies such as nuts or spices.

It would seem normal for themajority of meats, eggs etc would have been purchased from the ones who raised them for a living. They, the farmers, could not have survived on simply what was taken by pagan temple-minders. If that were the case, no one would want to raise animalls or be shepherds, ets.

I've been omniverous as long as I can remember. I eat vegetables only because I know they are good for me. It's utterly a non-issue spiritually. My dad was a chef. He ate vegetables if they were hidden in a casserole or stir fried. We did not agree on much, but we did on vegetables!

Well being vegetarian means you still eat chicken and fish. Never understood how that is considered being vegetarian. For me chicken and fish are animals. Vegans do not eat animals ;) . Everything in moderation is what God gave us to do in scripture.
Philippians 4:5 - Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord [is] at hand.

Odd start to this thread. user is banned by page 2 and it goes to page 8?!?

Anyway I read up until page 2.5.

With regard to killing innocent animals. I am pretty burdened for animals myself but they are food according to scripture. As far as I understand a "kosher killing" though, it seems pretty humane. Going through organic farms and kosher killing methods (quick painless and ninja-like) seems reasonable.

If you can afford it go for it. Commercial animal meat isn't too great health-wise. Maybe it was when I was a child but getting good quality meat seems rare these days for a reasonable price.

Vegan living isn't "bad" for you and some espouse it strongly and not for any "moral" reasons about killing animals exactly. Mostly for health. Alas, there is a lot of realllly weird things you have to eat to stay healthy as a vegan and supplemental nutrition HAS to be taken as far as I understand for certain things.

For example: Fish (salmon) are known to have omega-3s yet also have mercury. Farm-raised salmon is less healthy for you than wild-caught salmon. Salmon are fish. Fish eat krill. Krill has omega-3s...TONS of krill...but where do they get it from? Algae. Nothing wrong with eating algae for omega-3s AND you skip the mercury. Do you need to eat algae? Up to you.

Personally, I thought it was kind of "hip" to learn that...

So there's definitely some things to learn about studying vegan living but if you end up malnourished as a vegan because it's gross to you and you take no pleasure in eating and don't come at it with thanskgiving?

Probably just be mindful of "too much" animal meat.

Note: I like animal meat, it is tasty. Plants rarely are. Edible? Sure, but the main thing is to eat for me. You can get hung up on eating healthy that you decline too many foods and end quite malnourished and stressed out. Weigh the pro's and con's.

Night.
