Okay, but does that imply that if we have a close family member or friend who were not saved we are not supposed to bury them, to you?

If God is sending you out as a missionary?
And, the scheduled date of departure has been determined?

And, it is an unbeliever who died?
You can send the family of the one who died, condolences and flowers with a note.

It is done all the time.

You posted" unbelievers( who were physically alive)" in you heading. Not clear who you were referring to.
The verse that we commonly read about in mainstream translations about the "natural man?

The natural man (psuchikos man) does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God.
For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Corinthians 2:14

The word translated natural man?
In the Greek is saying something that needs explaining, and can not easily be translated as it is.

The "psuchikos" man.
It literally means - "soulish" man.
A man with only a soul.
Having no human spirit!

I would suggest trying a Google search for - psuchikos man.
What you will find will explain a great deal about it pertaining to a man with only a soul = unregenerate.

The Greek text contains treasures that mainstream translations normally can not provide.

You did nothing to save yourself from death, you can do nothing to keep yourself alive. It was God who decided to make you alive in spite of your sin, not you. The only salvation you can have an effect upon is your salvation from the power of sin but it's consequences and it's presence, is a grace act you have no say in. You either believe God saves or you don't, it really is that simple. :)
He believes that God walks one through a door to show them about salvation.
Then, God tells him...

Go get it boy!
Let's see if you have what it takes to be saved.

Ephesians 2:8-9 Disciples’ Literal New Testament
For by grace you are saved through faith. And this is not from you.
It is the gift of God— not of works, in order that no one may boast.

I grew up knowing people who loved to boast over others about something they had done.
Sadly, its a sin that some have a natural weakness for.

That kind of believer is a likely candidate for thinking they can do something to not lose their salvation.
It makes them feel they are better than some others...
Others that they see as being losers.

So? LOSERS of their salvation?
They are made targets that they enjoy thinking they are winners over.

Its a sin that has not yet been dealt with....

Since"... the body without the SPIRIT is dead " James 2:26, natural man means someone lead by their natural soul ( carnal mind, will and emotions ) and not their regenerated spirit.

What if it's your family, like, God forbid, your parents, and you are the only child?

Pharaoh was speaking of Joseph. So who told Pharaoh that Sarai was Abram's wife ?
My mistake, I didn't look up that Genesis scripture but I knew it wasn't Abraham that was filled or had the Holy Spirit, as you suggested. The Lord plagued Pharaoh's house and although it is not stated how in scripture, the Lord must have either told him or shown him in a dream or similitude that Sarai and Abram were married. The Father, the Word (Jesus, Yeshua) and the Holy Spirit are all referred to as Lord in scripture.

Gen. 41:38 is, I believe, speaking of Moses, not Abraham. And as I stated, the Holy Spirit WAS given to a few in the O.T.
Genesis 41:38 refers to Joseph. Joseph told pharaoh that God would give the meaning of his dream (Gen 41:16). God revealed to Joseph ... Joseph then revealed to pharaoh.

Genesis 20:7 tells us Abraham was a prophet of God. God revealed much truth to Abraham and Abraham was faithful to teach his children and his household (Gen 18:19).

.

Maybe this will help to see what I am getting at concerning what God's power of grace is able to produce in us as to make us free to do what is right.

I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer
I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell
in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot
carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this
I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it
is sin living in me that does it.

Romans 7:15-20
As I have posted before, God is mentioned twice before this passage and both times it's " God forbid " This passage shows how futile it is to live the Christian life without completely depending of God. Paul, by verse 25, then" thanks God through Jesus Christ " realizing or bringing to realization that it is impossible to serve God through the flesh, only through a renewed mind.

I acknowledged my mistake in failing to actually look up that scripture. I know that Abraham was a prophet but in the thread a poster had said that Abraham had the Spirit and I don't see that in scripture, although there were a few in the O.T. who did. Thanks for your input.

Since"... the body without the SPIRIT is dead " James 2:26, natural man means someone lead by their natural soul ( carnal mind, will and emotions ) and not their regenerated spirit.

And, that is why Jesus said.... "let the dead bury their own dead."
Unregenerate people God sees as dead.

A carnal believer has a human spirit. The unbeliever does not.

You mean the Word, who was" with God(the Father) and was God(in and of Himself)", John 1:1, who was later" made flesh" John 1:14, while in the form of God " Who(the Word), being in the form of God (Spirit), thought it not robbery to be equal with God(the Father):" Philippians 2:6, COULDN'T have been who Abraham was speaking to in the burning bush? Please remember, " For with God NOTHING shall be impossible," Luke 1:37. That "gold standard " you speak of is to discern where. or what type of spirit, a message is coming from, not the full or only definition of an angel. Weak attempt maybe, but here goes. You have water, ice and steam, water to slake you thirst, ice to cool or preserve something and steam to power a locomotive or get the wrinkles out of your clothes. When the ice melts and the steam condensates what do they become? Water. Again. So three things can be one, with differing forms and functions, for they were one in the first place.
No, I meant God the Father. Whenever God was passing down message to his chosen spokesperson in the OT, it was God the Father. Jesus, as the Word, before incarnation, was revealed in various visions and prophecies, such as Ps. 53. What's impossible for God is to default on his own words, he cannot lie.

In your post you state " the "psuchikos " man. It LITERALLY means soul-less man, a man with only a soul, having no human spirit." I answered with scripture" the body without the spirit is dead " from James 2:26. ALL living people have human spirits, that includes unbelievers. Before you received Jesus as your Savior, and I'm assuming you have, you had a spirit, it wasn't regenerated, but you had one anyway, but you, as we all , were led by your ( carnal, fleshly ) soul (mind, will and emotions). Your spirit is the part of you that the Holy Spirit used to draw you to Christ and regenerate your spirit, so that you can grow and be led by the Spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the (carnal) flesh.

You did nothing to save yourself from death, you can do nothing to keep yourself alive. It was God who decided to make you alive in spite of your sin, not you. I don't follow the false doctrines of reform theology who cherry pick scripture ignoring portions that don't fit in with their carnal minded man made religion that came from the devil.

Feel free to follow those doctrines of devils, but I will not be joining you.

So who told Pharaoh that Sarai was Abram's wife ?

In short, the scriptures seem to be silent in this matter.

There is a second, similar account in Genesis chapter 20. This time it is the king of Gerar Abimelech that takes Sarai. But in this case, the scriptures tell us:

But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, "Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife."–vs. 3 (KJV)

So while we may not know the details in the case of Pharaoh, it is possible that God came in a dream to Pharaoh just as He did with Abimelech.

In your post you state " the "psuchikos " man. It LITERALLY means soul-less man, a man with only a soul, having no human spirit." I answered with scripture" the body without the spirit is dead " from James 2:26.
I have been trying to tell you what Jesus said "dead," means.

Can you acknowledge that much?
You keep diverting away with your own choice details.

"Let the (spiritually) dead bury their own (physically) dead."

I don't follow the false doctrines of reform theology who cherry pick scripture ignoring portions that don't fit in with their carnal minded man made religion that came from the devil.

And, what is your brand of man made religion called?

"Jesus was a liar theology?"

John 6:37-39

All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.
And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me,
but raise them up at the last day.

You are just a church bully.
You are used to pushing people around.
(Or, like to think you are able to).

Romans 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of
God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Did you catch it?

"nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God
that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

That includes you!
That includes the believer whom you say lost his salvation!

Stop being a bully. Grow up in Christ.
Stop trying to be a people-pleaser.
An "amen" seeker.

Please the Lord.
Not your flesh.

Romans 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of
God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Faith believes what is said. And, if need be... without first understanding how it is possible.

God is not a man, that He should be petty and vindictive like the god you worship!

In Christ.....

I agree that Jesus, in human form, was not present before His birth. But that doesn't mean He didn't exist. He existed as The Word and I submit to you that it was the Word, who is God, who met Abram at his tent door whom Abraham called Lord, it was the Word who Moses met face to face Exodus 33:10. God, the Father, had said " Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see Me, and live." Exodus 33:20. So, as you said, God cannot lie, so what is it? " Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God ( the Word, Spirit), thought it not robbery TO BE EQUAL WITH GOD: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a Servant, and was made in the likeness of men:" Philippians 2:6-7 " I will worship toward Thy holy temple, and praise Thy Name for Thy lovingkindness and for Thy truth: for Thou HAST MAGNIFIED THY WORD ABOVE ALL THY NAME." Psm 138:2 " Therefore the Jews sought to kill Him because He not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was His Father, making Himself EQUAL WITH GOD." John 5:18. " For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father, which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, WHAT I SHOULD SAY, AND WHAT I SHOULD SPEAK." John 12:49. The Father, the Word and the Spirit are equal and all three are God, with whom there is nothing impossible.

That's your department.

And you do run it with a high level of efficiency spouting out massive amounts of deception daily! clueless-doh.gif

You make cherry picken popular among the gullible.

You keep trying to find ways to be trouble. Not for answers.

I said, "soulish" man.
Not, soul-less. https://christianchat.com/threads/was-mary-sinless.222810/post-5723431
You made it just the opposite to what I said.
That wasn't the point, and you know it. You said that the soulish man has no spirit, I said ALL people have spirits. You keep trying to duck truth. Can you show, in scripture, where a living, breathing person has no spirit, unregenerated or not?
