"You will surely die."
It gets translated that way often in a traditional take on what the Hebrew states.

It actually says...
"In dying you shall die."

To mean?
Two deaths.
In dying 'spiritually'...
You shall die, as a result, physically.

To know that?
Is why I love my pastor's dedication for his study and teaching from the Hebrew and Greek.
And, unlike most churches?
He taught exegetically six nights a week. (hence = our daily bread)

God will provide for those who simply do not seek for something to say.
But, to know... why something is so.

He didn't, you did. Jesus, the author of the law, was rebuking the Pharisees' misinterpretation, hypocrisy and added doctrines.

I have been telling you over and over that this was a THEOphany, i.e. God manifested in a visible form. He did speak THROUGH the cloud, not in the cloud, as long as He sits on his throne in heaven, Ps. 2. I do believe in the scripture, I don't believe in your "spiritual" interpretation.

When the Bible states that God breathed the breath ( nesh-aw- maw Heb. 5397, look it up in Strong's ) into Adam that breath of life included soul AND spirit. God is no respecter of persons and what He breathed into Adam in procreation He also breathed into all of living mankind, soul AND spirit. When we receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior our spirits, which beforehand were deadened, are then " quickened " ( regenerated, revived ) to receive from the Spirit of God.

The Hebrew says, "breath of lives." Plural. Adam received both soul life and spirit life.
When we are born again it is the human spirit that makes us a "living soul." (no longer spiritually dead).

Then the angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them. Also the pillar of cloud moved from in front and stood behind them, (Ex. 14:19)

I've come to the conclusion that if you don't agree with scripture, that God was IN the pillar of cloud as it clearly states, then you have your own version of something, you don't even acknowledge the Messianic scriptures and you, if I have read correctly, are a Messianic Jew. You, correctly, state that God the Word was the rock that sprung forth water, but you can't wrap your mind around that He met Moses face to face. He could manifest as a rock but not as a man, not born of a woman, as some angels have. Go figure, SMH.

The scripture I gave you from Deut. 31:15 is the last time the pillar of cloud is mentioned, I believe, and it states that God was IN the cloud. What does YOUR reading say? The earlier mentions of the pillar of cloud does mention " The Angel of God " So, as the Angel moved so did the cloud. The, singular, Angel of the Lord is God, the Word.

The serpent had been an animal that was agile and quick on its feet.
Satan identified with that and chose to possess the serpent to speak to the woman.

That is why Satan was cursed by God symbolically when the feet were removed.
For Satan does not get around like he used to before his fall.
God has greatly restricted Satan's ability to get around, unlike he used to do before he fell.

The fact that the woman showed no surprise when she heard the serpent speak?
That, I stated, reveals something about the relationship between man and animals before the fall.
