Either you think Paul wasn't a man of God and his writings are not inspired by God, so they are NOT scripture, or that the Holy Spirit gave him pagan laced writings. Either one or the other. You must remember Paul spent three years being downloaded to by the Holy Spirit, not the church leaders " But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mothers womb, and called me by His grace. TO REVEAL HIS SON in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen; IMMEDIATELY I CONFERRED NOT WITH FLESH AND BLOOD: Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. Peter, who was a messianic Jew, includes Paul's epistles as God inspired scripture, don't you? I sense, I might be wrong, a slight distain for the church from your writings. Yes, Paul, in some of his writings, was answering concerns and questions raised to him and although we don't have the questions, we can discern the questions by the answers he gave, and by them he was setting the church in order. " Behold, I (God) will do a NEW THING; now it shall spring forth; SHALL YE NOT KNOW IT?...." Isaiah 43:19. You can't put new wine in old wineskins.

I don't believe that it is a parable because usually, in a parable, names are not given. I wrote " or not " because I don't want to create a rabbit hole for someone to pounce on, that's not the point. The point being that the rich man was in hell and he thirsted, remembered, talked, saw, etc., etc. He still had his mind, which is part of his soul, and he has it for eternity.
After I posted this I read you response to David Lamb and found that your problem is not with Paul but with some church doctrines which have pagan beginnings, to which I agree.
You misunderstood, forgive my poor wording, but what I intended to express is that many teachings, doctrines and traditions from most Christian denominations have pagan origins, such as Virgin Mary worship suggested in the OP, or transubstantiation, purgatory, preterism (i.e. Christ's kingdom is already established, ruled by him in heaven through the pope on earth) etc., not Paul's epistles. Paul would have written epistles to rebuke such pagan rooted practices, had he lived in the medieval age. In these cases, it was not new wine, but either wine that's watered down, or other drinks, or even poison.
In what state do you regard the "souls under the altar" in revelation to be in while they are asking God, "How long?"

Knowing how to input questions and knowing how to learn from the answers are not the same.

Not once in any of those occurrences is it used in the sense of a do-over.
You have ignored flesh only gives birth to flesh. You have ignored only the Spirit gives birth to spirit Jn.3:6 and that it is only God who gave the spirit Ecc.12:7. No, not necessarily. For example, a sign in a zoo might say, "These animals are dangerous." That's a warning, but not an instruction. If instead the sign had said, "Do not put your hands through the bars of this cage," then that is an instruction.
