Was the crucifixion that Jesus endured the worst possible suffering a human could experience?

Oh @VickyK - Who's suggesting that Jesus was "fearful"???

He was under a tremendous amount of stress.....it was HEAVY.....He was breaking under the stress...NOT fearful. The angels came and ministered to Him and strengthened Him in the garden. He stayed the course, His LOVE was perfect because FEAR HAD NO PLACE IN HIM. Perfect love casts out fear.

Jesus asked His Father if the cup of suffering could pass from Him and if there was another way but, there wasn't so, because of love Jesus took the cup and drank it, saying, "not My Will but, Your Will Father be done."

When you describe the sufferings on the cross of Jesus, you only describe the physical pain and suffering.....He would be slaughtered like a lamb....as The Lamb of God...all His blood poured out, His body unrecognizable....

...and mentally mocked, spit on, Peter denying Him 3 times, the Jews against Him, the Gentiles against Him, the government against Him, the whole world against Him....Satan unleashed on Him, even God the Father placed His Hand on Him to transfer all the sin of the world upon Him (Jesus Christ) and then turned away from Him...

Jesus descended into the depths of Hell, to the very lowest part and endured even more sufferings unimaginable to us, experiencing all the sin of the whole world....yet, in the prison of Hell He preached the gospel of salvation to the spirits that were there in prison...

He took the keys of Death and Hell and unlocked the prison doors, setting the captives free, rising from the dead on the third day, ascended into Heaven into the Holy of Holies in Heaven pouring out His blood making atonement for the whole world....defeating Satan victoriously......He was able to raise others from the dead on the same day in like manner as Him (Jesus Christ) and were seen.....

NO HUMAN has ever risen from the dead with the Keys of Death and Hell.....NO HUMAN has EVER suffered what Jesus Christ has suffered to save the whole world.

Jesus Christ is the ONLY SAVIOR, LORD, KING and Lover of our souls! Amen.(y)

Knowing that you, VickyK would perish.....He loves you and His Father.....Jesus Christ does not want to live without you VickyK!(y)
We know that God is Love..... What is the greatest desire of Love....... It is "to love and to be loved."

Here is God's dilemma..... His greatest desire CANNOT be created. Love cannot be created. Love has to have a choice or it is not love. If God creates a bunch of robots that love Him, that is not love....that is manipulation. Love MUST have a choice.

God created man in His image with the capacity to love but, we have to choose to do so. We were not preprogrammed to choose to love God, we are given the choice. This is the hard part for God, He had to give us a choice......which started with the two trees in the garden of eden; also, God had to put a safety net in place which is the Lamb of God that was slain before the foundation of the world....so that if we choose not to love God, we get another chance to choose to love Him.

Love does not want or desire to be hated or with others that hate Him, or speak evil of Him......At the end of all things, God will choose only those that chose to know Him and to love Him.

God wants a relationship with you VickyK, God already loves you, He desires for you to choose to love Him, too. He wants all of us to know Him and to choose to love Him. He already knows us and has chosen to love us.

God created all the universes, galaxies, solar systems, beings, the unseen and the seen, yet.....He wants to be known and loved by us, the ones He created in His image...to be joint heirs, to rule and reign with Him....to love Him and be loved by Him.(y)

I choose to loooooooove God with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength!(y) His love is amazing!

I don't think he experienced the most possible pain (simply due to the "one-upper-effect," that says that even if he felt the greatest pain, couldn't you just take a thorn and poke him with it, increasing his pain?)

I do, however, feel that he was the most severely punished considering he went to hell without ever committing a sin.

There is no need to be so touchy about the truth.
I disagree. God is the truth and we should all be sensitive about him.

He became the cursed thing for our sake. The lamb caught in the thicket. The snake lifted up.
Yes, men cursing God, not God cursing his Son. The sacrifice for repentance, not replacement. The Son being viewed as the snake by men, not by his Father. See how the scriptures have been sistorted.

The prophecy isn't about God forsaking his son. No one made that claim.
But Jesus did experience abandonment and he cried out in distress.
God having forsaken his Son, regardless of how short a time, is widely taught in Christian circles and to abandon someone is to forsake him.

The Psalm does detail how the man who became the sacrifice experienced his separation from God. He pointed us to that psalm from the cross.
I told you that our Lord quoted that Psalm because the religious leaders, the "experts" the "teachers" of scripture who were mocking him knew that God doesn't forsake a righteous man in times of trouble. The scribes are the ones who viewed Jesus as separated or abandoned by God.

None of us could understand fully the torment he endured in his spirit.
Actually Lucy,
As we grow in the knowledge of Christ, we should understand fully his torment,

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death Phil.3:10

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Cor 5:21
And Jesus was viewed as a sinner, but not by his Father,

we know that this man is a sinner. Jn.9:24

They replied, If this man were not a criminal, we would not have handed him over to you. Jn.18:30

And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors. Mk.15:28

Love is not a choice.
If you are looking for a sentimental feeling which you can "fall" in & out of, you'll never grasp the depth of God's love.
Demonstrative love is a choice. A love that saves the universe is an active choice.

Hi journey . If you read it in context it is the execution part I was referring to not. As you can tell, when I say ''That is not the point''!
And I'm showing you brother,....Christ being judged and executed shows us the rejection of God by men. The hatred of God himself by men. You're misunderstanding the free will offering of Christ as opposed to their evil intent.

However you have totally lost me here when yo said this -

"God did not pour out his wrath on his Son. Sinners poured their wrath out on Gods Son,"

It is God's wrath not ours or sinners wrath.

Isaiah 53:4-6
Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Again, you're confusing the wrath of God as opposed to chastisement. Please read and understand Heb.12:5-13

Romans 3:25
Whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.
He's saying just as the Father overlooked former sins, the Son in his divine forbearance overlooked those who were sinning against him. People who spit on him, mocked him, slapped him, killed him....were sinning against him.

Isaiah 53:10
Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
It pleased the Father because

For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 1Pet.2:20

And it's necessary to understand that our dear Loed did not need to learn obedience for himself, but only as an example to us.

Even the famous passage we all says it was all God's doing-----

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Yes phil, whosoever believes that we have sinned against the Lord and confess our sins and repent of them will have eternal life.

And phil,
Did you read the verse just before 1 Peter 3:18 and the verse just after Heb.2:17?

Love is not a choice.
Love has to have a choice or it is not love.
where does it say that in the dictionary?
Do you love Jesus Christ, VickyK?

Does the whole world love Jesus Christ?

Some do, some don't because they have CHOSEN to love Him, or CHOSEN not to love Him.

LOVE HAS TO HAVE A CHOICE, love is NOT preprogrammed. If the choice is taken away from love then it is manipulation and NOT love.

where does it say that in the dictionary?
We aren't confined to modern English dictionaries. As fallen creatures we have tainted ideas about what love is.
Until we encounter Love himself we don't have a supernatural reference point.

John 15:
12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

This kind of love can't be seen through without commitment and commitment is a choice.

1 Cor 13
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Meaning, was it the ultimate suffering that no other human would ever possibly compare to have experienced?
Can we think of anything worse than being convicted willingly of every human sin of every human on earth though he was perfectly innocent, as well as suffering through the physical crucifixion? What other human do you know would do that?

The worst about it was bearing the weight of our sins. The Infinitely Holy and Righteous and Pure became flesh and bore the weight of our sins
