I was sitting in a coffee shop today and over heard some women doing a Bible study. They were probably in their 30's and they were talking about how they each wanted a husband and hoped that God had one in store for them. They also said that if He didn't, then there must be something much more rewarding in His plan. However, the one thing they said that hit home was, if you spend time with a lot of people of the opposite gender and devote a lot of time to those relationships, you could be 'ignoring' the one that God has for you. Like if I spend all my time with the guys from church just hanging out and watching movies or whatever, I could potentially be passing up having time with the 'one' that God has for me.

It really made me think of CC. Like, I spend time in the chat rooms. A lot. And when you get to know people, it can be hard to not have a 'crush' or find some sort of connection. It's not planned, but it happens. Do you think that online 'crushes' can get in God's way? Obviously nothing can really get in God's way, He's God. But do you think they can get in the way of meeting the one God has for us?

who is to say the one God has for you is not the one you have a crush on?
I met my boyfriend on facebook.
we have known each other for over 2 years.
we have been dating for almost 10 months.
I have seen him twice in person since we started dating.
we both feel like we will get married, and we have prayed about it a ton.

So that online crush could be something more. I would say if you get an online crush and it lasts more than a few months, it might be something. Pray about it earnestly and God will let you know if it is right or not.

Ashley, I think there's some truth in that. Sometimes we can't see the forest for the trees. And people who try too hard can come across as stalkeresque and scare people away.

I don't want to devote my time to finding a guy, keeping a guy...whatever. I'm just living my life day by day as closely to the Lord as I possibly can. I've come across guys in that walk and have tiptoed off of the path for a time....not good, so I figure I'll just stay on the path and let God either shove someone in front of me or just keep on filling my life with more of Him.

You mean like a complete stranger wearing a great smelling cologne that catches your attention in a crowded mall?
