Balance is such a good thing….

It seems to be a constant thing for me, trying to gain back the balance that I so easily sway from. I'm either eating too much or not enough, same with sleep, and movement. Same is true with my thought patterns...sometimes too idealistic, other times too negative.

He tells us to be moderate, to be reasonable, and to be aware of evil, but also of that which is good.

For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
Romans 16:19‭-‬20 ESV

Thank You Lord thank you for Your healing, for taking an invested interest in our lives, for caring about us and our concerns. Help us Lord to walk in Your ways, to think on Your Holiness and Your splendor as we walk through the shadow of death. Help us to keep praying, forgiving, and seeking, all while resting in the refuge of You. Help us reflect on You, in the privacy of our homes and out and about...because You are that which is lovely, pure, and true.

Help us stand with you on our knees and in our thoughts and actions. Help us demonstrate Your abundant grace as we walk out our lives. Let us not spend precious time fearing things and outcomes of this world, instead let us trust Your plan, no matter what, remembering You are always in control.

Lord, thank You for moving in all our lives and thank You for helping us to love and help others. We need Your help to do so. You will always be our greatest blessing.

Oh and thanks for the sounds of birds in the early morning. I can not help but hear the message of affirmation and confirmation in their melody. And also, for the way the sun rises...what a majestic way to remind us of Your Son's rising.

Your Mercies are new every morning...🥰

Sweet and deep breath of Yahweh...❤

It's not Bible, but it's still wisdom: Moderation in all things. Even moderation should be done in moderation, as there are some times when extremes are really needed. But after the need has passed, it's important to get back to moderation.

A little work, a little play,
A little rest in every day

Reasonable not moderate, right? I am glad you brought this up because I was trying to find it, specifically in the bible. Thank you for helping me know better.

I don't think it's there, but I'll do a quick google...

Google found it for me, not in the Bible but in ancient Greek philosophy. Direct quote from https://www.oxfordreference.com/view/10.1093/oi/authority.20110810105420435
Proverbial saying, mid 19th century; a more recent formulation of the idea contained in there is measure in all things. The essential thought is found in the work of the Greek poet Hesiod (c.700 bc), ‘observe due measure; moderation is best in all things’, and of the Roman comic dramatist Plautus (c. 250–184 bc), ‘moderation in all things is the best policy.’
Proverbs 25:16 is good though, as are Philippians 4:5 and Proverbs 23:20-21. (Google again provided this, as a result for "What does the Bible say about moderation?")

Of course... even using google can be done to excess. Sometimes I need to know something without pulling out my phone to look it up. :sneaky:
