I can only remember meeting one other person who was ambidextrous (or at least, the only one who mentioned this.)
At what age did you discover you could do things with either hand? Was it confusing when you heard everyone else talking about having a dominant hand?
Very interesting about the heart being the center of thought and the brain just a conduit...
That would explain a lot of things.

Posting a couple of things related to our chat on this thread, which i think will be really interesting to you too. The first one is an article from the BBC, which is considerably less hostile to ambidexterity than most sources:
Babies are neither right-handed or left-handed. They use both hands equally and swap all the time. It isn't until they're between 3 and 5 years old that most toddlers start to prefer one hand.

Think it's interesting Lindsay the therapist says handedness usually develops between 3 and 6 years old. Which means it could well be because of external influence rather than personal choice, there's evidence that both hand use was common in at least the first half of the last millennium. What's interesting too is that left handed people use more of their brain than right handed people naturally. The difference is even greater with ambidextrous people, because we use both hemispheres so much more than single handed people. When i had a brain scan the neurologist said my brain was like a Christmas tree, because of the activity. Which doesn't equate to being of superior intelligence, it's an operational difference.

That’s a very powerful point. It was also picked up by our late Chief Rabbi, Lord Sacks, who is always worth reading — very much worth reading. He wrote a little book on science and religion. He put McGilchrist’s idea this way: science takes things apart to see how they work; religion puts them together to see what they mean.
McGilchrist’s thesis is that for 500 years or so, we have put such emphasis on the left side of the brain that we’ve omitted the right side. And therefore we live in a universe where we understand how almost everything works and the meaning of nothing. He therefore calls for space for the transcendent, for the wonderful, for the beautiful, and for God."
