Abraham, Isaac and Jacob....an early reflection of the Trinity?

Abraham is called the father of nations. Isaac is the son that was almost sacrificed. And Jacob....well, I don't know what (if any) parallels you could draw between Jacob and The Holy Spirit. But it's an interesting idea. Or I thought so anyway.

I guess you don't necessarily have to connect each patriarch to a member of the Trinity either. Just the fact that there are three patriarchs makes me wonder. Is it just a coincidence? Am I looking too deeply into this? What do you think?

Interesting thought, another image He presented to us to carry His truth to all?
Perhaps. Also, something else I thought of:

Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. And from them and their wives was the world repopulated after the flood. So in this case, the number 3 seems prominent there as well. Interesting.

Three humans do share one human nature, an interesting comparison that is explored in this video.

Jacob also means that supplants.
Supplant definition is - to supersede (another)
Jesus told his disciples to wait for the helper to come.

There is no such thing as coincidence. It's all part of God's intricate, and precisely calculated, planning! :)

Abraham begat Isaac (by miracle) and sacrifices him that begat Jacob (which supersedes Esau, also known as 'Edom' or 'Adam') from which (spiritual) Israel is then generated

Also, there must be significance in that Sarah's and Rebecca's wombs were barren, but Leah's fruitful (6 sons, 1,2,3,4,9,10 and 1 daughter). Also, Zilpah's (2 sons, 7,8), Bilha's (2 sons, 5,6), and Rachel's (2 sons, 11, 12).

Has anyone heard of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit and the Angel of the Lord? There could be more. My point here is how when Moses asked out Maker who he should say is sending him to the Children of Israel, the reply was that our Maker would be who He will be.

God manifests Himself, and He does this any way that suits Him, and what suits Him suits the believer, His children.

Seems people have different ideas of what the trinity is, the purpose for a trinity, how it functions, etc. I don't think I believe there is a trinity of 3 gods so that there is not one God over all things, but if you look for patterns, you'll see them, even if they're not there.

One moment I am going for Isaiah 9:6 again.

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Do not say you understand this but it is written to be believed by those who already have known Jesus, Yeshua.

It is an interesting thought, but I do not believe they were intended to be a preview of the Trinity simply because the Trinity has always been. The first time man walked the earth, the Trinity is.

Jacob called Israel could be seen as the gathered and true Body of Jesus-Yeshua, that is to say, the Israel of the Kingdom everlasting.
