As for the "heretics" you speak of that remain here I have said time and again that it is a literal IMPOSSIBILITY for the staff of this site to read every post in every thread in every forum in which case if a heretic is running rampant on this site it is because no one has reported them frequently enough for them to be on our radar. We do not allow persons in BLATANT heresy to remain here but of course half of Christendom defines heresy as a doctrine that does not agree with their personal doctrinal bent (we do not). We have always (and only) hung our hats on the essentials.

It's just your good fortune that I happened to look back at this thread since I don't normally browse the Family Forum. I'm willing to discuss most things in public if I know someone wants to have said discussion and as long as that discussion remains respectful and civil (towards all parties involved).

The biggest reason that I only (usually) stick my nose in BDF is to look into reported posts is because I can't stand watching persons who claim to be Christians going for each others jugular veins over (frequently) minor doctrinal differences.

Despite my beliefs, (unrepentant Reformer/Calvinist with a semi-preterist's view), I honestly don't think Calvinism/Arminianism, OSAS, eschatology, flat earth, evolution, and most things on BDF are heretical. But there are people teaching some things that is heretical. They're just nice about it, so I never considered reporting it for "heretical."

I just thought you gave infractions for being rude, inappropriate, etc. Or, for the sake of the person's mental health.

So, could you run down the list of heretical in your mind? (And, I do understand, if it's coming off the top of your head, it will likely be an incomplete list.)

Let me say this first. We do not necessarily ban every user immediately for supporting heresy. Some of it comes down to our perception of the user since some persons that proclaim heresy are correctable whereas others are clearly attempting to promote and spread their heresy. In other words, just because someone doesn't get removed immediately for promoting heresy doesn't mean that we won't remove them eventually if they continue in it.

This is not all inclusive just some of the more common:

Rejecting the deity/eternity of Christ

Rejection of the Trinity (we tend to allow wiggle room for Oneness Pentecostals) but we do hold that Modalism/Seballianism is heresy

Rejecting the omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence of God

Rejecting the Pauline Epistles

Universalism (eventually everyone goes to Heaven)

Serpent Seed

Aryan Israelism

Afro Israelism

Most people swear Revelation is about THE END of the world. Yet the last part of Revelation talks about the gates never being shut, and the river of Life and the tree (Jesus) for the healing of the nations, flowing out of the New Jerusalem.

Why heal the nations if they are no longer there to be healed? Aren't they already in Hell, and beyond any hope?

Personally, I think Revelation means exactly what it says...... because I believe Revelation was written as addressing a time a couple of thousand years ago..... when the water flowing was (and still is) for the healing of the nations.

But, to believe Revelation is true, (and I think we all do) and those things do exist to heal the nations......... how are you not teaching universalism if you say all that is after they have been judged and sent to Hell.......... yet, they continue to have a chance to be saved??

If I understand things correctly ( and, if I don't - Jim, please correct me ) -- no actual rule exists that states that it is not okay for members to merely mention such - or, even ask about such - from other members.

For the most part, the site staff does not want members asking them - why - someone got banned. They also do not want members having intense discussion about someone being banned - such that it creates an "uproar" concerning it.

However, I don't think they mind if members make simple inquiry - or, have simple discussions about - someone having been banned -- such as that which has been posted in this thread. I really don't think they even mind if someone is "named" ( as you indicate in the quote above ) - strictly for the sake of identification of the member ( because, people will naturally be curious and wondering... ) --- as long as it does not cause an "uproar" among the members that results in a "problem" for the site staff.

Also, I'm very pro-wiggle-room. I've been known to report, not to ask that the person be banned, but that you just let them know what they're doing isn't appropriate. Often, they just don't know, and they tend to think no one can tell them what they can do, free speech, blahblahblah.

Universalism basically says that everyone (Christian, Buddhist, atheist, etc) all get to heaven in the end.

Pelagianism says that we, as humans, are capable of achieving perfection this side of the grave without the help of God a variant of Pelgianism today is Sinless Perfection which basically says that true Christians no longer sin (at all, ever).

In reality, by far the majority of heresies floating around Christendom today are merely recycled heresies that date back to the early church. If you look at the early church councils and creeds, all of them were to codify proper doctrine in order to combat heresies.

As far as WoF and it's variants, site Administration DOES NOT agree with these doctrines and I would go as gar as saying that some of the doctrines that have come out of these movements are outright dangerous but they would fall more under that category that RoboOp would call quirky doctrine versus outright heresy.

And in all that, you want to pick "seas" disappearing as being literal?

This is why it's necessary to understand the Bible and its use of symbols and patterns if we are ever to understand the Book of Revelation.

So - you believe that Revelation is 100% non-literal - 0% literal...?
