The View Restaurant in NYC on the 47th floor looks very exquisite. So 10/10 on presentation.
And the menu is excellent too. I would try the Double-cut American lamb chops here.
What do you think about this menu @CarriePie?

The thing is @Karlon that sometimes a few places bank too much on the view and they lack the good quality food. I have seen this with a few places around my area where for 20+ years they can't give the customers good food because they bank too much on the view. They have a lake view, a city view or a pool view etc. But the food and the chefs are non-existent. They get some kid to fry some food in oil and call that 'cuisine'. I mean, i came here to eat food bro, not just to look at the sights.

This is exactly what has happened to Prudential Center in Boston which has a 360 rotating view. The view is great but the food is not so good in my opinion. It used to be good maybe 20 years ago, now it's not so good anymore. After covid they also shut down the restaurant and i haven't been there ever since. Not sure what's happening there anymore.

yes, that's true. the restaurant business is 1 of the most difficult to succeed at. since palates are so diverse, you can apply the rule: "you can please some of the people all the time but you can't please all the people all the time". gtg.

First of all the interior of this place is very cozy and warm. I like it. I like the vibe of these places and i've been in a few of them which give you this warm fuzzy feeling. So it's very nice.

The menu itself looks pretty good too. I would get a Pesto Casarecce from that menu. Wanna see how they make the pesto, if it's made in-house at all. I wanna taste that fresh basil basically. I grew up with basil.

Splendid! Going through the pics of this place, the atmosphere looks quite nice inside and outside.

I'd personally go for Duck À L'Orange (with wild rice, orange segments, candied orange, duck jus) and Kronenbourg on draft.

I'm going for the prime rib au jus and Brussels sprouts with a Brooklyn lager.

Watching some short videos of this place, the views are amazing! I hope the prime rib is too!

You know, i think we also need to talk about attire in these places. Most of these places won't let you in if you dress with jeans and sneakers.
@Karlon how do you typically dress for these places?
I hope you don't dress like Zelensky. And i won't be dressed like the Albanian Prime Minister either. That guy wears white sneakers with his suit.

He's still not wearing a tie.
You know how some high-end restaurants won't let you in when you don't have a proper dress code?
They should just ban this guy on dress code at the White House and FoxNews.

neat, i would try that. i always liked green beans with extra virgin olive oil. my dad seasoned green tomatoes with some vinegar brine & salt for the winter. he added olives & onions.

They also top theirs with four types of cheese.

some of those restaurants may have closed permanently. i know the 4 seasons moved from 99 east 52nd street to nearby but it was an ignorant choice for such an iconic restaurant world renowned . they wee only open for less than a year after that. i'll switch to saratoga. my long time favorites are: wishing well; a bit north of saratoga, prime; they were in the saratoga national golf course, but closed, salt & char; right on the main drag which is route 50 but before that, it was maestro's, the owners got in trouble for fraud, a developer invested $27 million in salt & char for a new facelift & the place is just super, they have a great breakfast establishment called morrissey's, 15 church which has the address 15 church, they have an indoor dining area & an out door patio, old bryan inn, which is the perennial favorite for decent food, always dependable, fair pricing too, the ripe tomato which is bit south on route 9, seneca & elody. former great places are sperry's, forno toscono, wheatfeilds & lilians.
