wow I am gone for a week and still, Peter teaching works based gospel (and denying it) and same old slander against others (they devalue sin) and people still respond to him.
CC is getting so bad. Not even sure I want to be a part of it any more. Same old stuff every day.

I and probably others seer how deep and evil and offensive to God sin is. that is why we go to Christ, not ourselves. we get that one sin against a Holy God condems a person. that is we do not just flippantly talk about purity and rightiousness , and holiness , like it is no big deal, as you do.
This is a typical dispensationalist response to the Lords word.
Jesus is the fulfillment of the sacrifice system, He is the eternal sacrifice for sins.
The temple and all that came before pointed to this very act.

o.k. so when Christ said this, he did not really mean it, or the text means something different. wow, you expose yourself, and your false garbage you push more and more daily. stop twisting and mis-using God's word.
This is why you taught me you are hyper-legalists. You invent sins, so you are continually
condemned.
You take great offence when this is pointed out. You make Elijah a sinner for fearing Jezebel and
anyone who shows fear. You invent things as evil when you argue it is to do with self, when
often it is just plain life.
It is also why you condemn me as a hypocrite but cannot specify my sins. You do exactly what
Jesus and Paul said as believers we should not, stand in judgement over fellow believers.
But this is no problem. So though you sin, you have no shame. You will even list your failures,
and claim you are caught in behaviour patterns hourly, daily which you condemn as wrong, yet
continue in them.
It creates a total contradiction and denial of righteousness and the cross and is just to justify
your failures and self condemnation, invented or otherwise, and condemn other believers.
You therefore become a running sore wherever you go, not a blessing, but like you are doing here
condemning and rebuking people over things that are not scriptural. This is a sorry state,
which you have actively created. And it stands as a testimony against you, and your condemnation

no what is poison is telling folks the Bible does not mean what it says. God loving the world, forgivness being real, all have sinned and fall short, in your case flatly refusing to use the Biblical definition of sin, because it would blow up your little system, there is none righteous, not one, no one is good except one, that is God......... at some point or other, you have denied all these things the Bible clearly says. that is a sore, for real.
EG....I don't believe it is CC itself. It is just some people here that can't stand someone having a different opinion of scripture than they do and so they attack others. Malign them and "twist" the words that they say to make it say something else.
It is ok to agree to disagree on things too. None of us know it all - even Paul says - to those that think they know something - they don't know it as they ought.
If people do not interact with them and just ignore them - then we can have meaningful discussions with those that do exhibit good behavior and respect towards others. That way we can all learn from each other in a safe environment because we all need each other.

No it is CC. I left because of all the hate, I was hoping it had calmed down. But thread after thread same ole stuff.. It is no wonder we have had a mass exodus of good people the past 6 months.
I agree about all the hate being displayed.....but if we stop interacting with them and ignore them - we should be able to have decent discussions in a safe environment and hopefully learn from each other and together grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord.
"hate" - I am blessed by Christ and His love for all of us, that he forgives and accepts
us as we are, and is prepared to work with us through our weaknesses.
I suppose the simple question is pilgrims progress as a representation of the walk and
discipleship. If you answer yes you are following the general evangelical theological view
if no, you are probably following the new sects and groups who continually condemn the
evangelical church.
As there appears no common ground between the two discussions become almost impossible.
What is sad is the provocative language and continual accusations that are generated without
any respect for the individuals integrity or position.

What has puzzled me for so long is how just sharing my experiences in the Lord make
me in error and lost.
Now it used to be you repented of sin, put faith in Christ and you were saved.
Then came the baptism in the spirit, which often meant an estatic spiritual experience,
speaking in tongues etc. Some said if you did not have this you did not know the Lord.
And now it is if you do not accept you are mystically born with a new spirit, and sin is
not an issue of fellowship with the Lord, you are not saved. So I am confused.
It is like whatever these people have created it denies my life and whole generations
of peoples experiences. So either the Kingdom has only just finally arrived 2000 years
after christ or this is heresy. My judgement is on heresy.
Put it simply. Christ came to bring the Kingdom to earth through the gospel and the Holy
Spirit on earth. The church is as intended with the disciples, it is what it is. As believers
we are called to walk, and if you do not, your are not. We do have deeper insights now
than they had back then, but the truths are still the same. And that is the key test.
The fundamentals of faith stand, how to relate in love to God and your fellow man.
