Take note ladies:

1. If he stands at 6'1
2. If he grew up in NY
3. If he claims to enjoy Russian novels
4. If he works in politics
5. If he drives a grey Hyundai
6. If he claims to be a Germanophile
7. If he can recite entire passages from Shakespeare's Henry V
8. If he eats approximately 1-2 meals a day
9. If he sleeps 6 hours a night
10. If he is working on a novel

Do not consider dating. In fact, call the local authorities.

You have been warned.

Don't say we didn't tell you so.

This means you!

A huge turnoff is when he's negative about everything I do or say and puts me down. Also, if a guy doesn't believe anything I say because he assumes I'm just like all of the other women he's ever dated, therefore always tells me I'm lying.

Yeah....no thanks.

OH! and how bout the ones that think they know you better than you know yourself??
and when you tell them something they don't listen bc they assume they know you better??
wassupwithat!!!!

mr. know it all. you think you know it all. but you don't know a thing about me. ~KC

Ok, so I'm late in the game. I'm 27 now and it's only through my divorce that I'm finally able to really want what i want.
Someone tried to have this talk with me when I was 18 and all I could say was I didn't really care about looks. I thought I did well choosing a husband who would never mess around on me and would still think I was beautiful if I gained weight.
1. Must love God and lead spiritually. That means you stop and say, "hey let's pray!".
2. Must be involved in a ministry.
3. Cannot be romantically retarded. If I say just pick me dandelion and I'll be blessed, i mean it!
4. Must respect women as whole people. Must be a gentleman. Open doors, pick up the tab. Hey if i'm a princess then you better treat me as such.
5. Hmmm.... How do i say this appropriately? Must have the guts to stand up for the weaker and that includes women, chillaren, etc... But also to go against the friends and family in order to protect
6. Must be creative or artistic
7. Has to LOVE children
8. Must adventurous
Please dont get me wrong. I'm not as black and white as this looks. so ask for clarity.

I know you don't mean what you said here :P

I would say a recently discovered RED FLAG is women who just want to sit and watch tv or watch movies or do something where they don't talk or do anything. I'm generally not a fan of wasting time, which is why I hate commercials and solitaire. If I wanted to be with someone, its because I want to be with them, not because I want to watch tv.

Men who are heavily into gender roles and think women "belong the kitchen". (I wouldn't mind being the cook in the relationship, but it's not because of my gender, it's cause I am always the health nerd in the relationship. :p But that's beside the point.)

Kinda creeps me out too if they expect women to be very feminine.

That would probably be fine for many girly-girls, but since I'm not one, it's a red flag.

I am part tomboy. I laugh at crude humor, make immature jokes, hate dresses and high-heels, and don't fuss over other peoples babies. If he can't embrace that fact, I've just wasted time with that person.

I think the most horrendous (yes horrendous) turn off for me would be that they're not a follower of Christ.
Second to that would be: He isn't marriage minded when dating, searching for a mate.
Third would be: He's not a family oriented individual. Someone whom I feel wouldn't be a good father.
Fourth would be: He doesn't have any goals/ambitions. Someone who has no clue or plan for life is someone who's, as the bible says, is double-minded and unstable in all they do.
Fifth would be: They base their dating critics on appearance, personality, wordly temptations, and not spiritual oneness/connection.

My turn-off's:

-Someone who keeps trying to change me or force me to compromise who I am
-Someone who lets the insignificant things get in the way
-Someone who is clingy/needy
-Anyone with a "holier than thou" attitude
-Someone who can't let the past be the past
-Someone who's just inconsiderate/careless
-Someone who cares too much about physical fitness/body types of any kind

Also this is a given, but someone who only cares about sex like their life or our relationship will end without it.

Hmm...so, not in a superficial way but in the way of health, someone who cares nothing about physical fitness and nutrition is kind of a turn off for me. They don't have to be an obsessed work out-a-holic but I think physical health is important so I would hope he'd feel the same.
