It reminds me of how my girlfriend (Bulgarian) gets frustrated when I describe the temperature in Fahrenheit or distance in Miles.
I think that is indecipherable to anyone not born and raised in Denmark
I think I'm going to read about how Scandinavian languages have developed. That's something I don't really know about.
I mean they are Germanic, but bear such little resemblance to the Germanic language outside Scandinavia. To me anyhow.

I got vaguely used to miles in the UK, so I know one miles is about 1 1 /2 km

A French guy I met calls our system of measurement the "ancient system."

Oh well, miles and kilometers describes distance fairly well, but the best way of describing distance is "piece" lol.

Just started James Joyce's The Dubliners/A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man they are in the same volume. So far, I have loved the three stories I've read, although dislike Joyce's dislike of the comma, I am a comma enthusiast.
Right now I am reading "Christ's Glorious Achievements" by C.H. Spurgeon, "Christianity & Liberalism" by J. Gresham Machen, and "The Parables of Jesus" by James Montgomery Boice. I have a hard time reading books all the way through. I start good but then it is hard for me to discipline myself to finish. Working on it though.

i'm fond of Machen's books, too. Christianity and Liberalism is on my list.
I'm reading the very first commentary on the Book of Revelation that has ever made any sense... Days of Vengeance by: David Chilton.
Finally, someone who reads the book as it was actually written to be read to 7 real, existing churches in Asia.
Despite the fact that it was written in 1987, the parallels between today's Liberal Government and The Roman Empire and their attitude about Christians is striking..... and frightening.

I am currently reading through all of Shakespeare's plays. I realized I don't have a very good grasp on the histories, so I'm focusing in on them. Which sucks, because I honestly don't find the histories very interesting . But I guess that's why it is called "study."

In truth, although few people here may genuinely understand what "prophetic" really means, yes it is.
(Hint: It is not just writing that satisfies a curiosity about the future.)

Richard III and Henry V are great. I suggest getting a companion text on English history for some helps...or just open wikipedia.
