He gave Himself to us. No more Holy of Holies, No more curtains, no more wandering goats, no more tabernacles. The eternal life He promised us is actually Himself. The Holy Spirit He promised us is actually Himself. The truth He proclaimed is actually Himself.
I have been learning through reading posts on cc! Posters teach that Christ established a new law that said that His new law got rid of all His Father said about law, the new law was only what was in your heart, and it only had love in it. So put love in your heart and you can decide for yourself, then, what is OK.
They also teach that Christ brought in a new way of looking at Jews, that being they denied He was the Messiah but the Messiah was still to come, they were to be punished and the gentiles were now the ones to get all the benefits God gave the Jews, and the Jews would only be punished.
And as far as a day of judgment where Christ would come back as a judge couldn't be, Christ was only a forgiving God, too kind to judge. CC has new teachings about the bible.
RedTent, I keep hearing about the promises God made to the Jews... I don't know of any promises that were made to them. I can only assume that the people saying this are confused about the promises made to Abraham and his seed. Am I missing something?
It is on the foundation of the Messiah and His Testimony that we are to build our house.
Heavenly Father and Yahshua the Messiah have given us all and more.
Our love and Gratitude comes from this Truth.
"For this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show my power in you, and that my name may be declared in all the earth" (Exodus 9:16).
That was the purpose for God creating the Jewish race, and it is the reason that they will always be blessed. God made many promises to them because of this:
- "I will make you a great nation"
- "I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you."
- "In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed" (Genesis 12:2,3).
- "All the land which you see I give to you and your descendants for ever."
- "I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth" (great in number, Genesis 13:16).
- "I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you."
- "I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you ... to be God to you and your descendants" (Genesis 17:6-8).
A study of God's relation to this race, and to what our relation should be to them takes in a lot of scripture, and many things apply. God has always seen everyone the same, the Jewish race is not pure. Any person, any time, who accepted the one true God was allowed in, even Ruth was one of those, a woman who was a grandparent of Christ. We, who love the Lord are allowed in and become part of Israel. Thier rebellion enters in, they are not exempt from judgment, although in Romans it says that it was God who blinded their eyes to accepting Christ, blinded for our sakes. We needed to accept Christ, and it would have been hard to get us to do that if it came with all the trappings of Jewish traditions.
So you see, from scriptures teaching, it is not a simple subject at all. Scripture, even, doesn't give us all the answers. But you can be sure that if God says He will do something, God will do it. In fact, in Zech 8:23 it says this:
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

And 9 short verses later in Zech 9:9, we read this:
[SUP]9[/SUP]Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold,thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

What an example of blindness!! I read the ENTIRE bible, not a verse here and there! The bible includes verses about Christ and Israel. It is a wonderful book, I suggest you read it. You will find Christ was from the beginning, and it tells what happened to our world when He came.
