The command to repent drives us to the cross. We know there is no way we can repent on our own. The grace of God enables that repentance. The call to repent succinctly points out the fact we have fallen short of the glory of God. It's a call to change that can only be brought about through the power of the Gospel, because it's the Gospel that is the power of God for salvation.

Romans 1
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,[e] as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

Once we have the Gospel power working in us, we live by the Spirit, and do good works to serve our neighbors and bring glory to God.

This is a truly repentant life.

"For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous." Rom. 2:13

Wha does "grace alone by faith" mean?
Why do we have to repent if we are saved by grace? Or is grace referred to as God giving is Jesus?
Receiving God's grace is conditional upon repentance. Grace will not saved an impenitent person. So 'grace alone' does not save.

Why would you say the law is abolished when Christ says it isn't? Luk_16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

Christ speaks often about the law, and the law of Moses, but not once does Christ say it is abolished.

Of course the law will not fail until it is fulfilled. That is the principle of covenants/contracts. Until a debt(the law) is paid, the customer/benefactor of such debt will continue to be bound by the terms and conditions of it. But we know that jesus came to fulfill the law, and if he succeeded in fulfilling(paying the debt) it, then we have been released from such debt with the terms and conditions thereof.

Jesus himself gave a hint of this principle but people just fail to see it:

17“Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18“For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished -(Matthew 5:17-18)

See Heb. 7:12

"Why do we have to repent" to be saved?
One unilateral sin remains outstanding after Jesus crucifixion. Only those who have the faith to resolve this sin are saved.

True the written code of law has not been abolished, but it has been modified friend. Heb. 7:12

Wow do you have it backwards... This is where you have lost the Truth and the Way... I was always wodering why you do not agree with me on most subjects now I know....

Let me show you your error.... Can ANY man be saved without grace? NO!
Ok we agree on thaat I know we do.... But where does FAITH comes from? Form the man or from God? You make it as though faith and grace is two seperate things? If Grace is from God and it is HIS UMERITED FAVOUR.... what is FAITH? Also a gift from God and UNMERITED FAVOUR. All GIFTS from God is HIS GRACE (unmerited favour)

But here is the thing you just do not GET crossy... God's gifts ARE PERFECT!.... They do not fail EVER! And to see this you have to do one thing toady.... Forget about man.... Focus on God today, and ONLY on God....

Ok let us ask God.... Lord Jesus, can you make a man perfect here on earth? YES I AM GOD ALMIGHTY!
Now let us ask the Lord... Lord Jesus, do you want to make men perfect here on earth? YES THAT IS WHY I COMMNDED IT IN MATTHEW 5:48.
Now mot takng our focus off God, we have to know if the Word of God gives us evidence of this. If we look at you and me and other people, there is NO EVIDENCE... but remember we ONLY FOCUS ON GOD....

If God wants to make man perfect aand ew know HE IS THE ONLY PERFECT there is, then God has to FILL the man with HIMSELF to make this man perfect does He not. So doeas God fill ALL HIS PEOPLE WITH HIMSELF.... YES! THERE IS ONE FATHER IN, ABOVE, and THROUGH ALL HIS PEOPLE!

Now all we have to know is that NO MAN can do this, it is GOD WHO DOES THIS... And he does it with UMERITED FAVOUR.... He does it because HE WANTS TO DO IT...
No sinner saves himself GOd does. nd God does it through the obedience of the faith. HIS GIFT OF GRACE is PERFECT! It takes a sinner and make that sinner a Christ-like man. PERFECT! How? God removes the sinning heart (old man), and replace it with a perfect heart (Jesus' heart). And God removes the sinning spirit (old man spirit) and repace it with HIS HOLY SPIRIT (Chrsit Jesus). And that is the NEW MAN AFTER GOD's likeness.... That is the perfect man of God doing ALL GOOD WORKS.

Bookie NO man of God does what the old man did. The old man is DEAD! Gone! Never to be seen again. God says this... BEHOLD ALL IS BECOME NEW.... And God means ALL!!! Let me tell you this... Just as no fountain can produce good and filthy water, just so can no man produce holiness and sin. It is one of the two. NEVER both. God in any person is perfect! And any person withour God is imperfect! as Easy as that.

All saved people is PERFECT! And all unsaved people is imperfect... Why? Becasue it is God's salvation! And he does not save half measurely... He saves to the FULNESS OF CHRIST JESUS.. unto a perfect man the Bible says.... Eph 4:13... Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Okay, Cobus Can one be born again and still possibly sin?

Matthew 5:43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

Matthew 5:44
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Jesus is telling us how to repent by throwing away our old self that produces more evil, but put on something that only produces good.

Proverbs 17:13
Evil will never leave the house of one who pays back evil for good.

Yes and will one really love people as God does unless they see the depth, height, length of God's love

Can one anyone, love God's way to God's depth?
Not unless what?
1 John 4:19 We love because he first loved us.

Wha does "grace alone by faith" mean? Why do we have to repent if we are saved by grace? Or is grace referred to as God giving is Jesus?

Romans 1:5 Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake.
Romans 4:16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.
Romans 5:2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
Romans 12:3 [ Humble Service in the Body of Christ ] For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

Romans 12:6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;

This is all God given to you if you beleive God and not mankind, includes our own desires that might look good to us,,but are not.
Have you ever gotten sick from eating too much candy? Were you told not to, and did anyway? Were you given grace in this or punished? By who, parents, guardian, people right?
Did God do this, punish you for not listening? People growing you up did though right and claimed you better behave right?

Did you behave then from fear of punishment? Is that the way we are to be taught under grace, from God?
In fear of punishment? Does that not make you want to run?

Lets go back to that time you got sick, from doing something you should not have. You did it right and you feel bad right?
Now lets say God is your parent, to teach you truth from error.
Did you really need to be punished for not listening and went ahead and did waht you were not to do, and got sick from doing what you were told would not be good for you?
Weren't you already punished being sick?
So if you were asked have you learned to listen, you might have said yes, right? But when we are not asked if we learned anything, how will we learn, if we are further punished? If we are further punished won't we react worse or obey out of feare of punishment?
Is the fear of punishment actually obeying willingly?

therefore God who saw all this, send his Son to stop this and give us grace, to redeem us with willing hearts to serve righteousness, which is God, shown to us by Son, Jesus Christ who walked by Faith alone. He, Christ trusted none other than his Father. Think that might be the same for us.
Grace by Faith alone, and together as one.
Faith is belief, I believe God
Grace is unmerited Favor, to us all, here on earth. Have you ever seen others do bad to others? How does that make you feel? Have you ever done bad to others? how does that make you feel?
So in this, we prayerfully are to see our own wretchedness in that we have done bad ourselves, and when we see others that have done bad we thus are mad right? And forget abut ourselves have done bad ourselves right?
So we despise evil from others and forget about the evil we have done and yell and scream at others, as if we are better when none of us are
Now to me that is a repentant heart to God to learn from God to love all as scripture here says:
Luke 6:32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.
Matthew 5:46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

Now to be clear, this does not mean to be a doormat, and just allow all to walk all over you. When you see this despiteful using attitude from others to use you. God in prayer to get directions of which way to go and what to say in return, to avoid in any more sickness
Remember you are learning to listen, and this starts at the home, if the home is born in Love from God, you will be taught correctly, if not, I pray through you that it will be, since you are searching truth.

John 8:32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Just keep looking and seeking this out, no matter what, and you will learn, hopefully not by bad mistakes as in eating too much candy all at once
Love to you

It does not answer the question why do we have to repent to access it.
We are saved by grace because there is nothing we can do that is good enough to satisfy God. We must repent, which is to turn around and go a different way, because God will not save us against our will. We repent when we confess to God we are not good enough nor can we become good enough in our own strength to be acceptable to God.

For the cause of Christ

Receiving God's grace is conditional upon repentance. Grace will not saved an impenitent person. So 'grace alone' does not save.

What is your proof of that Seabass?

Do you have the nerve to make dogmatic assertions with no scripture, based on your say so?
Or are you nursing the idea that some religious group to which you belong is infallible and makes quoting scripture irrelevant?

John 1;12-16, and the answer to 'Grace alone by faith' the free gift of GOD, in verse 13. An effortless entry in, by the will of GOD.

We repent, because previously we have lived a wretched life of 'Self/carnality', without knowing and searching this true GOD, moreover unable even to search nor know about HIM and again because of our ignorant stubbornness and hardheadedness. And HE spoke and wrote about us, living in carnal ignorance, written in Romans, chapter 1 & 2 and HE concluded in chapter 3, verse 9-18, about our ignorant 'Self'-righteousness.

GOD gave only through HIS begotten SON, LORD JESUS CHRIST, Grace and Truth, to bring them HE, sent as the 'Light of the world', to shine on all fallen man and mankind, so that upon redemption, one can continue in HIS teachings and participate in HIS actions, impartation of spiritual Kingdom knowledge and Kingdom action to conform in faith in all of them, also acting as an cleansing agent, in edification and sanctification of the new body. Then now in sound doctrine knowledge faith, persevering in humble and humility, knowing how GOD's unmerited favor that came to help them step by step, failure after failure and lifted up by lifted up, in unworthiness and undeservingness received all of them for free, and as it is written knowing that;

"'HIS kindness leads us to repentance"
.

We have to grow and be conformed according to the written teachings of the New Covenant of CHRIST, if we call HIM KING and MASTER and also witness the same to others who are lost that the 'Kingdom of GOD is at hand'. The Living GOD will give a seal of approval and excess 'Crown', to enter in the future, HIS 'place of rest'.

JESUS said then and is still alive today that;

"The road that leads there is very difficult to follow."

Lk 13:3,5; Rom 2:4,5 the impenitent will be lost. And since they are lost, obviously then they are not saved by grace.

Wha does "grace alone by faith" mean? Why do we have to repent if we are saved by grace? Or is grace referred to as God giving is Jesus?

"grace alone by faith alone" is not the concept of salvation that is consistent with what all of the apostles taught. That quote is an ecclesiastical assumption that is entirely false.

Now I see how more broadly we don't seem to agree in our understanding of Scripture, if you deny that Paul's teaching here is consistent with Apostolic doctrine.

It's what Ephesians 2.8-9 teaches.

It does not answer the question why do we have to repent to access it.

Tell me, find any scripture that says to repent over and over again, after one has received, believed 1 John, we agree Christ came in the flesh went to a cross and physically died, then rose in Spirit and truth for us, and yet bodily as well, since he is the only one ever perfect in flesh and blood, born through the Virgin Mary.

Note: anywhere after the death of Christ on the cross, to repent again and again, as if you never repented to begin with in the first place.

Ephesians 1:7 in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Colossians 1:14 in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Not one apostle written in after the death, burial and resurrected Christ, has asked for any further forgiveness after, the cross.
Please if their is find one verse that says we are to repent over and over, if we sin again.
1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

As a response in thanksgiving and praise to Father and Son.

1 John 2:12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.

false doctrine:

Rom 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace;

faith is the OBEDIENCE within the Bibles confines
by the power of Grce the diving holy spirit power doing it

to say grace alone is saynig

We dont need direction, we dont need highways, we dont need gas stations we dont need speed limit siigns we dont need policmen (law)
we just need horspower (Grace)

how do you get to seattle?
(Just put the pedal to the metal, horsepower! (grace))

what turnoff do we take?
(Just put the pedal to the metal, horsepower! (grce))

I mean, grace alone is all we need is completely stupid

it goes against the whole Bible
grace alone is just idiotic and shows complete ignorance of the Bible

The born again, need no Laws, for the born again are not Law breakers any more living in Spirit and truth.
The Laws are still needed though. Not for those in Christ for those not in Christ.

Wha does "grace alone by faith" mean? Why do we have to repent if we are saved by grace? Or is grace referred to as God giving is Jesus?

I am pretty sure this "grace alone by faith " is not found anywhere in the scriptures...but if you find it let me know.

Salvation by grace means we are granted righteousness/holiness without meeting the requirements of the law of Moses. The law has been fulfilled(paid) and abolished through the death of christ.

Repentance means we no longer look to the Law of Moses to define God's kind of righteousness. It means we now have infinite liberty to live our lives without regard to the definitions and requirements(restrictions) of the law. To live our lives embracing our full natural(God given/designed) attributes and quests, whether they be quest for food, drink, art, science/knowledge, sex, music, etc. These things that the law itself prohibited us by it's demands for abstinence. All things and all knowledge in nature are now permissible to use, just as God designed them in the beginning, before the fall of Adam.

The power of Love, God's 1 Cor. 13:4-13. That God installs in those that beleive God and God has accepted, knowing the intention of the ones that claim to beleive, so God confirms ones belief not mankind in and of any religion here today

If you only love those that love you, and we each know personally whether or not we do, between God and us, personally
Then I can't be born again, think about it?
Luke 6:32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
Luke 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
Luke 6:34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

Not attacking you or anyone, just saying, ask self, between God and you, maybe and all others reading as well, as I am asking me as well, to stay in the Faith of Christ's finished work for us all, if we will believe?
