That sounds smashing and refreshing.
You have more confidence in me than I do lol. But, I'd give it a try. I've always liked white roses in particular, but I like all roses.

When I was a little girl, my mother and I would walk by a house not far from here often. An elderly gentleman would come outside as we were walking by. I think he must have always been watching for us from the window. He had rose bushes in his yard. He'd always cut one and give it to me. I think that's why I've always liked roses, as that's a warm memory from my childhood.
Here's a good video on it, in case you want to give it a try.

That's really sweet!
I would call around and ask all your local nurseries if they have that color. I've even seen some rose plants at grocery stores the last couple years.
They need watered in and kept well watered until they're roots are established. I'm not a flower guy, but I think they need good drainage. Do you have clay soil with a thin layer of top or sandy soil ?
In this yard, I'd have to dig a fair sized hole and refill it with good soil and good top layer. The ground here is pretty bad.
Last time I dug a big hole, it was to replace the electric pole. I borrowed my mother's post hole digger to help out. It took me a while and it was a workout. I'm sure a rose bush can be done!

That's a pretty deep hole to replace a big electric pole! I bet you earned your PhD doing that! (Posthole Digger ;)
That would be a nice reminder of your childhood memories and a special centerpiece that's handy.

That video reminded me that they like full sun. I do remember that.
My Dad planted a gift from my aunt and it didn't do very well because of the lack of drainage I believe. I have a blueberry bush that won't thrive in that location. I should move it too after cutting down the maple tree.

It was a very big hole. I'm short (5'1"), so I was underground when I was finally done digging a deep enough hole lol.

You are smashing at so many things! I feel inspired to start being smashing at least a few things.

I love blueberries. They are delicious.

PhD...I like that :giggle:

This evening I refilled my foaming soap dispenser with 100% castle soap (Dr Bronners brand). I added 10-20% to hot water, then a mix of essential oils.
It makes me look 12 years old.
That's great! Which oils do you use?

When I don't use Lemongrass face wash, I use a tallow lye bar soap. A friend gave me a bunch of different scents (of course they're scented with essential oils :) )

I have a morning facial care routine. I wash, then spray a toner, and apply a serum, a moisturizer, and an eye creme.

I'm VERY particular about the ingredients in my skincare products. For awhile I almost exclusively used a company called Lemongrass Spa's products. But I decided it's too expensive so I'm phasing it out and finding handmade or diy clean products that are more affordable.
That's good that you take care of yourself. It shows.

I use the plain version of castle soap made for babies.

I always use peppermint oil. I just happened to add lemongrass to it this time too. What a coincidence!....
Or is it?

Lol! I was actually referring to the company named Lemongrass... but I do love the scent too!
Lol!
I go through different combinations of what I have left of my store inventory.
My friends all used liquid castle soap for camping. I picked up that habit and it works so I stay with it. My favorite is peppermint since it's a mild astringent and wakes me up in the morning.

I just decided just now to add rosemary. It has special benefits.

I kept a patch in the side yard for Mom until I moved out. Most of them were red, but had a variety.
Since I'm a guy, my favorite was the rose water that we made some summers. I'd stuff a lot of fragrant blossoms in a large picture, cover them with water and keep in the refrigerator until it tasted sweet. It was a real delicacy. 😋🍹👩
You can do it too. They.are.easy to grow.
Hear that seoulsearch? Rose tea!

Hey Everyone, it's Story Time!!!

Lynx and I seem to be Friendship Frenemies.

You see, I currently live near some rose bushes on public, community property (I don't have access to growing my own things outside,) so on nights when I can't sleep (which are many,) I may or may not go down (under the cover of night) with a bucket and a pair of scissors... to "borrow" a rose or two -- because I love flowers.

Apparently, Lynx thinks the punishment for this should be -- DEATH.

He keeps trying to convince me to make something edible out of the rose petals and I keep telling him I'm not eating any kind of plant that I don't know.

I see it as being the same as "Stranger Danger!"

If the plant is a stranger to me, I don't consume it, plain and simple. (I mean, Adam and Eve tried that, and look how it worked out for them!)

But he keeps persisting.

At this point, he might as well put on The Evil Queen getup and just hand me a poisoned apple!!! :sneaky:

I'm still trying to interpret what he means by this.

Maybe he's getting tired of my threads, and is hoping to put me into a coma to try to make me stop!

(Somehow, I get the feeling I would still be trying to type in my sleep, if even out of sheer rebellion!)
