I made feijoa crumble about 5 times in the last few weeks, and the feijoas keep on dropping. I have given away feijoa to all the neighbours, family and friends that I know.

Yesterday was quite a day. Of course I started with a clean, but only vacuuming and mopping the house, it was Saturday after all..
I put one load of laundry going (had to do it twice, because I forgot it to the washing machine after it was done...).
Made vanilla sauce (or is it custard in english) to go with dessert.

Then my brothers friend came to knock down "few" trees, he was here about 6 hours. So naturally I fed him (and my brother who also came, mostly to eat...), and had few coffee breaks of course. 😁

I was soo dead when they left and still had to clean my kitchen 😫

But was able to get it done anyway!

And yet I heated up my sauna, even though beeing almost half asleep and feeling super cold, well, hence the sauna...

Today I have been all out of energy, and even to think about the work I have waiting on me outside... this is my garden at the moment (and this is not the only spot);

Maybe I will tackle it next week, and rake all the mess away and chip the branches..

I LOVE the backsplash design in your kitchen -- colorful and playful while still looking very distinguished.

Wow, what a productive day!

Makes me feel lazy. :D

All I did was grocery shop.

I wish we still had the "winner" like button because you deserve it!

What happened to all the buttons on CC? Why did they change it. Everyone's saying how they missed the buttons. Who took all the buttons?!

Wouldn't that be a downgrade? What else has changed? It looks the same to me...
Yes I wish the site would go back to the way it was before all the upgrades. All the women had pink names and all the males had blue names, and everyone had their post count under their name so you could tell who the regulars and old timers were, and who was a new member. There were some other things too.

huh if you click on the little blue arrow circle underneath your username, it shows you when you joined, the number of posts you made, the number of likes/reactions, and some cup thing that is always at 113.

But you didn't have to click on anything. The post count and date you joined was displayed was right under everyone's name.

I didn't know about that feature. That's new to me

Oh, believe me, at fisrt I thought the white subway tile for this.. ugh, gladly I did not choose it.
I like to make permanent fixtures more of a neutral colour, so I can change the curtains and pillows and towels etc to bring colour! Those are easy to chance.. (this kitchen used to have yellow upper cupboards, red backsplash and grey lower drawers. That is where I got the inspiration for yellow for the kitchen.)

And it might look maybe somewhat distinguished.. only if I can always keep it so clean 🤣

Grocery shopping can be exhausting too!
..but still, if I could I would have switched that day with you 😆

I still have no energy left today.. 😅

Did you post this under 'kitchen flirtations' as well. Then more people would see it.

Some people love open-plan kitchens. but I know they can be a pain when you want privacy or a place/area to cook undisturbed. Life is not always a show room.

I fixed the ice dispenser this afternoon. It had not been working for about a week. It was frozen solid where the ice comes out so I had to wrestle with the ice bin to get it loose so I could get to the frozen part. The ice bin always puts up a fight because it's frozen to where it sits and requires a lot of pulling and wiggling to get it off and its the size of a bread box. I think it could hold 2 gallons of ice easily. Then I had to chip away at the frozen block of ice clogging the dispenser. And voila! Now it works again. And now I'm tired. 🥱

There's also another way that I used to use to fix the ice dispenser but it's messy. You grab a bucket or large container and place towels on the floor. Then you prepare a pitcher of hot water from the faucet. With the freezer door open, I hold the bucket where the ice comes out as I pour the hot water into the ice bin. It melts the ice clogging the dispenser but a lot of water ends up on the floor. And it always seems to require more water than it should.

My son unplugs it, turning off the unit. It usually works but I do put a time limit on it so the food stays froze. It usually works.

Oh no I have too much food in the freezer. Plus when you plug it back in, the motor will run continuously for a long time to get it cold again. Will put extra wear and tear on the motor. One reason mine froze up is because in the summer I lower the freezer temp so the motor doesn't have to work as hard to maintain the temp. Same with the fridge. I'm kind of OCD about making things last.

My kitchen cupboards are yellow and have been that way since...1972. The walls are pale pastel green.
And we have bright orange curtains to match.

Recently changed the fridge and there was only one model that fit that space. No ice dispenser its not that fancy.
There is no room or plug for another appliance unless I throw out the microwave. Everyone's raving about their air fryers.
There is no back splash. The oven/stove is all in one. So all the oil and soup splashes on to the stove top and the dials.
The sink is stainless steel and the counter top is formica...
