What is the "Rep Power" about, please?

Your rep power isn't your "reputation" though, it just ... eh, your power to give rep? :p
Although it can be affected by reps given, high rep power CAN be a pure accumulation of posts
(so it doesn't really matter if others can see it).

My rep power is high, but anyone here can testify I'm just a ordinary nutcase ;)

I am puzzled about a lot more than that. So I'm not going to raise a fuss because the comfuser, I mean, computer, was a bit slow for a bit. :)
