i do enjoy talking to different people and i like the atmosphere of the chatroom but sometimes i think we dont really know what to talk about. i think the chatrooms need some help with finding interesting topics to chat about, some stimulating conversation that would develope in a great discussion that everyone would participate in. we just need some ideas to talk about!! ;)

bumped^^

I like the general concept of this site a lot. I've found really good friends here, and I even met my now fiancee here :)

From my observation, some folks bring the drama on themselves, simply because they're in there TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. No good can come if one has that much time on their hands just to be able to chat in a chat room.

But like still waters said, if you stay on too long, the drama and trivial talk can get to you- hence, I tend to take CC breaks from time to time.

1. If we all remember that everyone here has their own struggles...
2. If we maybe, just maybe, use some of the time helping someone else instead of talking about ourselves..
3. If we think before we type/talk...
4. If we remember our roles as a body in Christ, who should be encouraging one another and not tearing them down...

Just maybe, the atmosphere might be somewhat drama-free and more positive. Maybe. Just saying.

I enjoy the chat rooms. It is a very good venue for making friends from all over the world..I mostly hang out in the Bible Study room. I find the lounge to be quite cliqueish.

I have to say I'm not a big fan of them. I spend more time just gazing at the screen then doing any actual chatting. One time I even (ahem) talked to myself out of boredom. :)
I have to agree with what SnugPug240 said up there.

Ohhhhoohohoh Thanks so much Jullianna! You've been a lot of help to me today ^_^
God Bless <3

My opinion is very much like one of the peoples comment's previously - the chats aren't very friendly, and when you go into the chats, you know the "regulars" who dominate the chat, who dominate the topic and who choose who they wanna speak to. I come on here, because in my area and my church I don't really have any other young people to talk to, so I came on this site to find people who I could talk to and relate to! Praise God, I have found some really nice guys to chat, however, I find that the people who speak on mic only speak to others who speak on mic and I know personally I feel like whatever I type is a waste of time. I understand that we don't always have discussions on the bible, we have the study group for that, but I find that sometimes the things discussed in the chat are a bit too worldy for any good.

That does happen at times, Malcyboy. It depends upon who's on mic and when you are online. Some times are better than others. Earlier today we had a discussion about scripture re: caring for the planet because it's God's.

I've spent a lot of time talking to myself. I don't know if its cause people don't see or whether its cause I'm not part of the group, but there it is. And that's when my internet allows the chat to come up. It used to be dialup friendly but they've added too much overhead to it in recent years.

personally I pm people and eventually we go to a smaller room where there aren't mic hogs and have in depth conversations that way. I tend to read the forums more but I see some people I know in chat from their post in the forums and try and talk to them about various topics.

I don't notice if i'm being ignored because I don't tend to talk to the whole room just one or two people I know and have come to respect or want to get to know better.

I"m socially obvious to cliques both online and in real life until someone points them out to me. there are cliques in the chatrooms?

really? wow, maybe i need to pay better attention. i missed that memo.

anyway, I'm not single but you guys tend to keep it real so I pop in occasionally :)

Sides I like Zero so I wanted to see what he was posting about lol :)

have a blessed day and if you catch me on chat you can pm me :) if I have time I'd love to talk with you :)

(the you be an general invitation, though warning. my friends tell me that I don't remember "normal" people)

I find the chat to be quite annoying lately. Most nights its nothing but 20-somethings yammering on and on about mindless subjects, such as arguing over who's going to marry who. Or the jokes about placenta. Not only is it mostly mindless, it often borders on inappropriate. Sometimes i'm just plain embarased by what goes on in there. The other night we had a non-Christian in the room, and the chat was mindless as usual, goofy, immature, and i still feel inappropriate. When he spoke up, saying he expected better chat on a Christian site, he was more or less told he could leave. I saw a woman come in seeking help for an abusive marriage, and people start making jokes about abuse. Frequently people come in seeking help, or prayer and are often ignored.
Then overnights with usually no mods through the night, certain people tend to really push the envelope, or just break rules outright.
While its true i spend a lot of time in the Lounge, mostly i'm just waiting for the few people i talk to.
And i don't see why we have the Yousing room if the Lounge is usually used as a place to play music or sing. The other night every time i looked up the same guy was on cam, dancing and singing along to music, this went on for an hour at least.
So i think the chats would be more utilized by more people, and less dominated by immature cliques if we had more mods, and context of chats was kept under reins. So many people come in new, watch the chats and leave because of whats being discussed.

I'm starting to really like the chat rooms now. I just met some really cool people on there in the last few days. :)

I like the lounge when it is not as Ugly described above. When it gets like that I will either go to Bible Study, YouSing or retreat to the forums. :)

I like PMing with only 1 or 2 people max. It's just too difficult to hold a decent conversation otherwise, and that seems rude to me. Some people pull you into PM and won't let you back out. Some people get upset if you don't PM with them every single time you're on. I finally just gave up and posted that I'm not a fan of PMs... still doesn't work sometimes...

Ugly, I have to admit you echoed my own sentiments exactly. I look at all the mindless chatter going on there and usually just leave. Nothing intelligent is really discussed that one could jump into and when you got like twenty people chatting at the same time its not worth it to bother joining.

I actually decided that I didn't like the chat rooms when I first joined. Overall, I"m not a "people person", and chat rooms in general just weren't my thing. But then, I met my first seeker. He had questions about Christianity, and we talked for a long time, almost every day for weeks.

I realized that, while I might not be interested in building friendships as much as some chatters are, a lot of people do come to this site for advice or help. And that's why I stay. Some amazing things have been happening, and I'd like to be a part of it for as long as God tells me to.
