I agree, for the most part with Cee. To a degree. I appreciate what he has brought up here.

I wish I knew where these women are that like being challenged. :D

And Welcome Cee, its good to see you in the Forums :-) (D-Block)

I guess in that sense I'm not so concerned with the way things appear.

Jullianna said, something about convincing ourselves that we like someone or that we are something that we are not. Which is not what I'm trying to do.

Liamson, I can't ever imagine you pretending to be anything.

And it is cool to see Cee in here :)

So...I'm with Katie. When do we get to the what MEN want part??????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????

(I hope you like the sign. It seemed safer than my flare gun.)

I am proud to see the women here are the opposite to the so called "Slutwalkers". To me these women are disgracing women. I am totally not for the prostitute look, if i see a girl/women dressed as such i will not look twice at her and will see her as trash. If you drive down the streets today you wouldn't even be able to tell the difference between prostitutes and supposed normal women. It brings rage in me to see the youth becoming corrupt by the heinous media that has portrayed wrong as right. I cannot understand how these "Slutwalkers" consider themselves feminists, to me they are doing the opposite and shaming women. They making it out that the only way they can get somewhere in life is to use there body and flirt there way threw life. This does not show independence or equality.

I think, at the end of the day, we all want to be accepted for what we are. Social pressure, vanity, sex obsessed media, power driven careers and money driven social status all try to confrom us to an idea that we are not enough. This is simply not the case.

I could not care less what size a woman's breasts are, what shape they are, how much make up they wear. In fact, I prefer a natural woman who can be confident with herself no matter how she looks. What is really attractive about a woman is how oblivious she can be to the pressures society addresses to her in terms of vanity and looks. A woman in a shirt with no make up and her hair messy is much more attractive than a barbie doll.

This is where the problem exists.

I care about a woman's needs and her mind before her looks and her social status. Women and men, both need to realise that it is our differences and our flaws that make us unique and compatible.

Well, at the request of the intention of the original poster as well as the lovely and beautiful Kate & Jullianna, I will do my best to fulfill this request ;)

-Someone who takes the time to be a part of my life, not just having me be a part of theirs.
-Someone who takes initiative in getting to know me, by asking questions and exploring my world. Curiosity is a virtue on my list.
-Someone who isn't afraid to go with me on crazy adventures, like backpacking, skiing, seeing my extended family or just getting away for a while.
-Someone who wants to grow with me, learning together, challenging each other in ever part of our lives to be better than we were before. Not someone who has to feel good enough about something or they won't even try it.
-Someone who isn't afraid to face something terrible with me, when things get rough either in their life or mine, like a death in the family, they don't run away from me.
-Someone who doesn't mind hanging out on my laundry day or talking with me while I run errands or do chores.
-Someone who takes my part, stands up for me, believes in what I believe in. Someone who shares my faith, even if they do not share the degree of passion about it.
-Someone who's attentions and affections are actually not just for anyone but, they understand that some things are sacred and not to be shared with everyone, like secrets.
-Someone who works problems out with me first, before she complains about a problem with all of her people. That way they all of her people don't hate me.
-Someone spontaneous, who chooses to surprise me without any invitation or suggestion. (I think this is a regional thing. Has never happened here but happened almost once a week in Florida)
-Someone who realizes that I want to her and I to be a team. No one else gets to be on our team. When the friends and family have left and there are no more events to attend, we will still be a team.
-Someone who doesn't keep track of how much I've done for them or try to 'get even' on an imaginary ledger by deliberately paying for random stuff. They should only do what they feel like doing, nothing more, nothing less. I'm not interested in how much is owed either way. If I bought them a car, I don't need a check or anything in return. When I do something thank you is enough. Its not because I expect anything but, because I wanted to, because I feel like they deserve it.

Thanks for all the post love, great to "see" you all here as well :)

Just to clarify what I meant in my previous post...

I'm all for adapting, learning, and growing as well.

My post was aimed at the heart of the motivation for the change...

As far as what men want...

I can't speak for what all men want, but I know I want a girl who will help me more be like Christ and allow me to do the same for her... Not a girl who will make it harder for my walk, but easier as we support one another.

I also admire girls who are "ambitious" for the Lord... That have dreams, goals, and see needs and are open to being used by the Lord to provide for them.

I'm a bit of a health nut, I watch what I eat and try to get exercise, but I could use a partner in that...

I generally can sense when a girl has "hard heart" wounds so I think having a soft heart is definitely attractive to me, which I believe only comes from the Lord and being in His presence on a daily basis...

I think most of all though a woman who loves the Lord, loves His people, wants to make a difference with her life and have a blast along the way... (joy of the Spirit)... but that's just me and my .02 again.

C.

Liamson, I'm with you.

I want someone who initiates contact.
Someone who doesn't mind sitting on the stairs while I play guitar and sing on the stairwell.
Someone who will go camping. Who will come out for a walk down the beach, even if it's raining and all we have are coats and earphones.
Someone who listens to what I have to say and appreciates that.
Someone who can look me in the eye and say they love me, without looking away.
Someone who actually wants to DO THINGS. Who doesn't make up an excuse or 'can't be bothered'.
Someone that would treat me as I treat them.
Someone who would care enough to keep our relationship as private as possible. Who will actually try to understand what I say and work out problems as a couple, not a group therapy session.
Someone who will understand; If I love you, I will work harder than anyone to make it work. But you have to accept responsibility on your part. You have to have that determination too because I am the type of person who will burn myself out in effort, even if you aren't trying at all. Do not put me through that.
Someone to share stories with. share philosophies with. Daydream about nothing with.
Someone to learn from. Who respects and values my input as an equal share and will consider it.
Someone who asks. Do not wait for me to give you everything you need. I do not understand what you need unless you tell me.
If it boils down to one simple thing, I want them to GENUINELY care. To look at me and say 'wow, I love him'. Just like I do at her.

From reading your post I have just realised the extent to which I have been absolutely taken for granted.
