Successful, beautiful, boring, fun, friendly, mean, intelligent, dumb, etc., are all words that if we allow others to judge us, we will always be in a prison of giving others the power to destroy or fulfill our lives. For most of us, we are typically our greatest critic as it is.

Obviously, to some degree in certain people, we should value their opinion like if our boss thinks your work performance is lacking. This should be weighed appropriately in honesty. Is your work performance truly lacking, or is it because your boss has a bias? Are you dealing with something like poor physical or mental health? Or is the lack of motivation? If you are honest, then you should correctly divide the blame. Own what is rightly yours but ignore the rest of the world's opinion.

Suppose you are in a healthy relationship, and your spouse mentions that they feel like you are angry or cranky all the time. Weigh the value relationally of the other individual. Does this individual truly love me and want to see me be a healthy individual who is happy and fulfilled? Or is this individual toxic and selfish? According to the tip of the metaphorical scale, we abide by such information, or we ignore it.

But above all, we have the Words of God that defeat all opinions and words of humanity. It is the absolute truth, so when God says you were created in God's image, then your soul harnesses that beauty and splendor of God. We know when the soul of the individual is filled with pure love or pure evil. No matter the outward appearance of the body, the inner beauty is what God sees as necessary.

God can provide success, and it may be material like Job had at the beginning and end of his life, or it may be a spiritual success like Paul's joy amid a prison cell.

The point is, we should judge ourselves in the eyes of God through His written Word and prayer and not solely through the eyes of men

The opinion of others has its value but only when adequately weighed against the Word of God.

Proverbs 24:6
English Standard Version
6 for by wise guidance you can wage your war,
and in abundance of counselors there is victory.

Wisdom comes from God, so to receive wise guidance, it takes your counselors to be equally seeking the Lord in guidance.

I thank God because I only have discovered myself through Christ,so it’s a bit far from me to mind about what people think of me because what the spirit says I am isn’t manifested on the outside yet,so what do I expect from others who will judge me according to what they see?? I just focus and concentrate on what the spirit says I am through his word, what he says I’m that I call myself even when things seem to suggest otherwise!!

Amen. It will be a grace to grace movement as in you will see the evidence of spiritual fruit in seasons.

Are we not supposed to be an example of Christ's love? To be an example for other people, means we MUST be concerned with how those other people see - and therefore think of - us.

How other people think of you is the epitome of exampling Christian love for others

The best and successful way of living on this side of life is following Jesus Christ’s footsteps! He lived an exemplary life but all He was concerned about was doing the will of Him that had sent Him.

If people are thinking of you in a state of a lie, slander, or outside of God's Word then it should be like shaking the dust off of you'd sandals and moving on.

I'd be moving on too. The only opinion that I truly value is that of my wife. I really don't care all that much what people think of me.

I was created to go good things for the one who calls me His Masterpiece (Eph 2:10), not to be liked. But oddly enough, the more I show people the characteristics of Love (God(1cor 13 & 1john 4:8)) the more they seem drawn to be around me. Funny how life works sometimes. But the Bible also says I will be hated simply because of His name, so yeah it works both ways. :)

It does ultimately work both ways. So if we we are to be disliked, let it be on the grounds of love, kindness, truth, and all the virtues of the Spirit. This way we know we have done all we could to promote the gospel in good character. Beyond that, we should not let the world distract us from who we are in Christ.

I only care when it is within the realm of scripture as in if I am not living by the Word.

What God thinks is very important

what you employer thinks of you is not so important, because you employer isnt God. If your employer really was God, that would be pretty amazing lol. Even so, we do our own work as if we are employed by God...even if our employer is only a man or woman...and takes a cut from us.

Every opinion must be weighed I honestly compared to scripture. If someone points out laziness, we must ask ourselves are we truly slacking off and what does scripture say on the matter. If we are then our boss's opinion should carry weight. If we are doing our best, then it should go in one ear out the other, because we are serving a higher power that does teach us to work as we are working for the Lord and to work like the ants not a sloth.

sometimes work has downtime and people dont understand this who dont do the job
You need to take breaks and not be a workaholic because thats really bad for your health if you are a crazy type A...its been proven type As are more likely to die from heart attacks.

This has been difficult for me as I always feel the need to validation from others.

Yes, I've always felt not good enough but with gods love I know I am. I can't describe enough how he's helped me.
I was just curious because I know I once struggled with always feeling not good enough. Now just occasionally. I know what God thinks of me, but it is me who wants to do more for the Kingdom.

often when we are feeling down or 'not good enough' God reminds us that His grace is sufficient.
He knows our every weakness...He made us after all.

He gives us strength, often its not our own strength. I dont know if its different for men who often rely on their own brute strength to get through and labour etc. But women know this because weve always been regarded as 'the weaker sex'. And often treated by men as inferior. Even though we know we are not.

The other thing is, what do employees think of their boss? Mostly the boss doesnt really care, but often employees will just keep their opinions to themselves, less they lose their job!
