Although we can trust the scriptures in English, it's also of value to discover the deeper meanings of key words throughout scripture in contrast to Westernized Christianity.

The relationship between Emunah, faith, and amen, an affirmation or agreement, is commonly taught within Hebrew lessons as sharing a connection relating to faithfulness and belief.

While looking and thinking on this, I also wonder if the relationship might well extend to 'Emmanuel,' even though the first letter here is the 'ayin' which possesses a spiritual significance that is reflective of an eye, to see, insight, perception, fountain... and the lamed, the shepherd's staff having a significance to learn, to teach, authority, shepherd
God with us.

Romans 11:6

6And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

What do you do with this?

Romans 11:6

6And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

What do you do with this?

Can you be more specific as to your question? What part are you asking about?

Romans 11:5-6
5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Given that the thread topic is faith, that is indeed an integral part of that section of scripture in the vein of salvation.

So, when we're talking about works in relation to salvation, the exclusionary wall Paul has erected in Romans 11 is that works of the Law nullify grace, for they cannot coexist in the salvation of mankind under the Gospel of Grace. The very definition of "grace" relegates it outside being combined with anything of works of the Law or even benevolent strivings. I'm sure we can agree that had it been possible for works on our part to be any percentage of our salvation, then Jesus died in vain, for if even 1% of our salvation were based upon our works, then it is no more grace, as Paul stated.

So, please, elaborate as to what you're asking.

It is important to recognize that the Bible can speak against being required to do works for incorrect reasons without speaking against being required to do them for correct reasons, for example, the Bible speaks against trying to earn our salvation as the result of our works but does not speak against embodying our faith through our works. Grace is a gift and gifts can't be earned, so grace is incompatible with works insofar as they are done in order to earn a wage (Romans 11:6), however, works can be done for other reasons that are compatible with grace. For example, the content of a gift can be the experience of doing something, such as giving someone the opportunity to experience driving a Ferrari, where the gift intrinsically requires them to do the work of driving it in order to have the experience of driving it, but where doing that work contributes nothing towards earning the opportunity to experience driving it. We can't earn our salvation even as the result of having perfect obedience to the Law of God because it was never given as a way of earning our salvation in the first place, but rather it was given in order to teach us what is intrinsically required in order to experience the gift of salvation through faith. In Titus 2:11-13, the content of our gift of salvation is described as being trained by grace to do what is godly, righteous, and good, and to renounce doing what is ungodly, so we are not extrinsically required to have first done those works in order to earn our salvation as the result, but rather we are intrinsically required to be doers of those works through faith because God graciously teaching us to experience being doers of them is part of the content of His gift of salvation.

It's been apoximately 500 years since William Tindale realized he couldn't translate the most important word in the Greek texts into the English language.

What is the most important word in the NT?
It's the Greek word "pisteuo."
I'm aware of the word "Grace", but Grace avails nothing if pisteuo isn't fulfilled correctly.

Why couldn't Tindale correctly translate "pisteuo" into the English language?

It's because the English language has no word to translate pisteuo. The English language has no corresponding verb to the noun "Faith" like the Greek does.

What is the Greek word pisteuo?

"Pisteuo" is the corresponding verb to the noun "pistis". The Greek word "pistis" is where we get our English word "Faith".

Where is the corresponding verb to the noun "Faith" in the English language?

There is none! The words the English language should have had for Tindale and the other translators are "faithe", "faither", and "faithing". But those words are not in the English language and weren't available for Tindale and the others translators.

So what did William Tindale do?

Tindale had to make a choice, stop his translation into the English language, or choose a different word. He decided to use the words "believe", "believer", and "believing", 248 times.
Gods word specifically warns against anyone adding or subtracting from the primary texts. Even if done unintentionally, in my opinion he has laid the foundation for the wide path Jesus warns us about. Here we are, 500 years later, and most called out ones are standing on the mistranslated words "believe", "believer", and "believing". Thinking, if i simply "believe " in what Jesus said, did, and promised, I will immediately receive the Grace deposit or Holy Spirit. That's not the correct response to the call of the Father required to start, maintain, and complete the salvation journey here on earth.

Here are some facts about the mistranslated words believe, believer, and believing.
1) These words are not in the Greek language. Our teachers, churches, Bible colleges, and internet claim that if i look up the word "believe" in the Greek, it means "pisteuo". Pisteuo was mistranslated into the English, and then stamped back out onto the Greek. The Greek does not acknowledge a state of being where one is only " believing" in something. In the Greek, we are either moving towards something, "pisteuo", or the reverse action, moving away from something, "Apisteuo". No neutral or middle ground in the Greek

2) The mistranslated words believe, believing, and believer change the "object of faith" from a one on one personal relationship with God, a real living person, to what He did, said, and promised. Gods word cannot be the object of faith, it must be the living person.

3) Pisteuo is a verb, an action word that encompasses 3 parts. A specific act (the personal surrender to Him) based upon a belief (that he will accept the surrendered life) sustained by confidence (by making all the 100s of daily decisions supporting the fact our lives are not ours anymore, but His now.) "Believing " is only one of the 3, taken on its own is error.

4) Believe, believer, and believing are corresponding verbs to the noun "belief", not the noun "faith".

5) The definition of "believe " is "an opinion held in good faith without the necessary reference to its proof."

6) The Strongs gives the disclaimer "pisteuo means not just to believe. The Vines definition of pisteuo, "A personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender. " This is not a one time surrender, it's surrendering every day, all day if necessary, making a better one each day. This is the perfecting process. Saints are not people who are perfect, Saints are candidates for perfection. God is not looking a perfect surrendered life, simply a genuine one.

7) God sees us from A to Z, "A" being what He wants first. (And that's someone who will continuously surrender their lives to Him, and live a life that supports that surrender. )
We see God from Z to A, "Z" being what we want first. ( And that's His Grace deposit and His promises. )

Salvation is by Grace "through faith," (faithing) through a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender.

What is the most important word in the NT?
It's the Greek word "pisteuo."
Where is it stated in Scripture that this is the most important word? Oh... it isn't. So your premise has nothing but opinion undergirding it.

The wide path existed long before Tyndale (yes, that is the correct spelling!). He didn't do anything of the sort.

Exactly what do you think the "narrow path" is?

Here are some facts about the mistranslated words believe, believer, and believing.
1) These words are not in the Greek language.
*Sigh* Obviously. They are English words.

Our teachers, churches, Bible colleges, and internet claim that if i look up the word "believe" in the Greek, it means "pisteuo". Pisteuo was mistranslated into the English, and then stamped back out onto the Greek.
Um, no, that's not how it works.

2) The mistranslated words believe, believing, and believer change the "object of faith" from a one on one personal relationship with God, a real living person, to what He did, said, and promised.
Only in your mind. While the word "believe" does have a semantic range, that range encompasses everything that pisteuo means.

Gods word cannot be the object of faith, it must be the living person.
Where is that in Scripture?

5) The definition of "believe " is "an opinion held in good faith without the necessary reference to its proof."
Source please. I suspect you selected only one of several parts of the entire definition.

7) God sees us from A to Z, "A" being what He wants first. (And that's someone who will continuously surrender their lives to Him, and live a life that supports that surrender. )
We see God from Z to A, "Z" being what we want first. ( And that's His Grace deposit and His promises. )
Where is the evidence for these assertions?

True indeed. Doing good works for the right reasons is indeed admirable and necessary for storing up treasures in Heaven.

Grace is a gift and gifts can't be earned, so grace is incompatible with works insofar as they are done in order to earn a wage (Romans 11:6), however, works can be done for other reasons that are compatible with grace.

True. The problem arises when folks try to intermix the works with salvation.

As I had stated in another forum, those under the Kingdom Gospel weren't saved by endurance, but rather they endured because of their faith.

Thank you for this post to continue to go forward in risen Son for us by Father leading us in his Holy ways of love and mercy for everyone. Amazing

Yes, it's settled with me because He finished the work necessary for our redemption.
We are therefore given many precious promises like this one.

11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Absolutely. The debates in these forums over faith being perfected through good works, the problem is in some failing to state the distinction between salvation and rewards. When they blur the lines between the two realities, the contradictions become divisive. James, in chapter 2, spoke of faith perfected in works. We of Israel needed that message, given our tendencies toward stiff-necked indifference to demands upon us that don't align with our own desires and sensibilities.

The horror of that phenomenon among so many professing believers is that they go back to Acts 2 as their model, which fell with Israel. That gospel was for Israel at a time when we were the portal through which Gentiles had to enter into salvation given that Gentiles were outside the commonwealth of Israel, without Christ and without God, and therefore without hope in the world. That middle wall of division maintained that reality until we fell and that wall was brought down with salvation THEN having come unto the Gentiles AS Gentiles through Paul's Gospel of Grace that so many today and historically hate with a passion. The works-based salvation model that some allegedly "Christian" denominations still teach today, coupled with the pathway to Hell where that leads, never leads upward but rather downward into the deep pits of despair and failure.

Many will find that trying to present their "resume" to the Lord for their presumed salvation apart from grace, it will be for them a very sad day indeed.

maybe yet not seeing certain things yet, yet will by God, I know this truth, where I was and am now, left behind things not well for my Soul in trust to the King of Kings God Father and Son as won for me as well as everyone else too. Remembering Saul who became Paul, he under Law did Law righteously according to flesh works Phil 3 and states oh you, anyone you think you know, myself more so. then goes into the list of works, Ends with saying I gave up being under Law to win Son, the risen one. I did my best under Law and still failed not ever being perfect init and even took it to killing others over my own self righteousness.
We all are different and each has their own lead by God for them to do and only see as see daily. Hoping we all are willing. to grow and learn new from God in God's mercy and truth daily
God grows each person own different stages, so we share together and not judge, actually trust God to teach us each in God's love and mercy of Son first, thanks

Salvation is made available to us as a gift of grace through the death and resurrection of Jesus. If not for that this whole discussion is moot. So it's a free gift but who gets to have it? Some say this who have faith. So what saves us? Jesus death and resurrection of our faith in that death and resurrection?

I can only say like my eldest brother John said it. three days before he died here on earth.
He quoted to my eldest sister over the phone.
he stated "God just loves me"
three days later he was found on Campus Crusade for Christ dead. leaned against a boulder two miles above the sanctuary there. That was in 1978
My brother was 31, I was 21, I am 69 now. My brothers last words to me were:
All my drinking I was doing then was not good for me. 7 years later I put the drinking and drugs down, Been dry ever since. Which does not make me better than anyone else still doing that or anything else not well for their souls either. I just agreed with God, the drinking was not good for me. And I stopped, in humility not pridefully as many have done as in Luke 18:9-14 teaches me
As we each are called to see and decide to quit or not it is each persons free choice to choose. I see best to not harm anyone else or abuse accuse or even excuse.
Humility as in Romans 2:1-4 teaches me with Romans 14:1-4 thank you for being you brother

Jesus alone saves us from the wages of sin which is death in Hell. Roman 6:23, Revelation 21:8 KJV
Nobody can add anything to that sacrifice He suffered on our behalf.

When it comes to those saved brethren, believers in Christ, there will be times when we have opportunities to exercise that faith in respect to helping our brother or sister who is in need. I love my brothers and sisters for helping me when I nearly lost it all following a series of unspoken tragedies. I'll ever be grateful to Those believers who had faith put that into action to help. God has promised to bless those who do.

See the difference between saving faith and the faith of the Heaven bound believers that is tested?

Generally speaking, there's an amazing amount of confusion among some Evangelicals in that some fixate on blurring the line between salvation and reward. With salvation being rooted ONLY in our being saved BY grace THROUGH faith. Works are not at all a part of our salvation. The perfecting of our faith is also not a part of our salvation.

Dare one look at James 2 with a desire to accept ONLY what is stated AND also consider what is NOT stated in relation to popular beliefs, salvation will be seen as not at all a part of his dissertation. Not once did he touch upon that. Oh, but some love adding to texts what isn't there when throwing in salvation if the persona's faith classifies as dead on the basis of statements made by James.

Quickly, let's consider a term we've all heard, which is "sanctification." That word is among the most misunderstood terms within Christendom. It is the process of growth in Christ; growing in spiritual stature. James, who clearly stated that he was talking to Israel in James 1:1, was addressing we Israelis who have a history of stiff-necked indifference to moving forward in our desire to follow after God.

James was addressing the lack of sanctification in the lives of Israelis who were not moving forward in pursuit of spiritual growth in Christ through allowing their life in Christ to enliven our faith, and thus good works, toward each other and others. What so many here in the West fail to understand is how we Israelis were so introverted because of our pride in the status we always thought was an elevation of us being above all others, paying no mind to the equality Gentiles had with us once they joined with us for salvation, which was ONLY through the portal of Israel because of that middle wall of partition Paul spoke about.

Far too many Evangelicals of the Reformed sect and others today, fail to consider the implications of that wall and what Gentiles had to do in order to discover and realize salvation in their lives. This is hard thing to grasp, especially for those who have fallen into the many lies of replacement theology and other of the popular lies and deceptions of Satan that thrive today within churchianity, which has done a massively successful job of corrupting biblical truths so easily verified by reading the Bible without the Protestant blinders over their eyes.

I have no idea what you're trying to saying there.

There is a trying to do Law, a trying to be perfect like Jesus is and revealed in his earth walk.
Yet no other person can do it perfectly ever
Father today is not pleased in works of the flesh., that be Romans 7 and 8 that explains this, which only Father in. truth in Spirit and Truth can explain it to each person personally first.

Under Law one, anyone under it is under a curse. The law itself is not the curse. The curse is the first born flesh people, needing the new life offered in the risen Son.

Then my Quote
And one responds, stops trying to create, thanks

God is the creator, we the people are the responders. Having reprobate mindsets to choose whatever we choose to be righteous or not. So we are fist born creating, learning to from first birth forward after our frist two years of crying for whatever we want. Then!
We start the complaining, wanting and getting authority over us
Then we are taught to be independent, not dependent on God. Confusing! Plced under Authority, many times wrong authority.
So see, respond to the love and mercy of God for you and be new in love and mercy to all too, God Father leading in God Father's Spirit and Truth. The same as Jesus did first on earth John 4:23-24 Hebrews 7:11-12
God will reveal to you this truth in God's timing as God knows best and wants best for us all Jeremiah 29:11
