How about anything from Apple? How many versions of the iPhone do we really need? And FYI the iPhone 5 is glitchy! And I really don't feel like the macbook air is much better than the macbook pro other than being lighter.

I love how commercials overly dramatize everything.
It starts with a seemingly deep story about how a woman is miserable because her husband is not romantic anymore. She cries and she locks herself in her room. Days and months go by and nothing changes. She thinks of divorce. Then someone knocks at her door and she goes out to see who it is. It's Annie her neighbor telling her about this awesome fabric softener. The woman listens to her neighbor and buys the product. Next thing you know not only her husband is romantic again, she got the new iphone5, lost 10 punds and got a new Honda. All because of a fabric softener. Very creative I gotta say.

Well it makes perfect sense to me! Once you get one of these, you have to buy an automatic faucet and automatic paper towel dispenser before you can really get clean on your way out of the WC. Hmmm, I wonder who makes something like that!? Oh and don't forget to kick all doors open, or you might waste all of the other automation. :)

I actually do agree with this one... I believe that all public restroom doors should swing out.

chocolate syrup with calcium (duh), I also had a friend whose wife worked at a diner and said we would be surprised at how many people, rather than ordering a cheeseburger, or bacon cheeseburger, order a plain hamburger with cheese and bacon.

I worked at Hardee's when I was in high school. There were TONS of people who would order a 'hamburger with cheese' rather than a 'cheeseburger' because it was somehow different. There were even people who requested to pay more so that it said "Hamburger +cheese (30 cents additional for cheese)" on their receipt rather than "cheeseburger".
There was also a mom who would get a dozen cheeseburgers and ask that the burger patties be left raw, frozen, and wrapped separately so that she could go home and cook them herself.
Then there was the guy who would order his meal with uncooked, frozen french fries which he would then gnaw on...

The ads i hate are any ad that feels the need to personify lung phlegm. I mean, do we really need to watch little green boogers in your lungs packing up for a vacation? I can't even look at those commercials.

Aw, c'mon...when they're boogie-ing down at the Cough-a-cabana nightclub? What's wrong with that?

I came up with this idea while watching a tv commerical about a new toothbrush by oral b or whoever, and I thought to myself "really? is it really necessary to come out with yet another 'improvement' on a toothbrush?' Go down any drugstore isle and you will see like 50 different types of toothbrushes, hey whats one more? SOOOOO, what do think?~ What is something, a product, ad or whatever that makes you think, 'what were they thinking!?', 'is that really necessary?!'. I am assuming that I am not the only one who thinks these things.

Men's razors! Razor companies try to convince you that they have somehow revolutionized razor technology by adding yet another blade. They started making razors with two, then three, and now four blades (actually, there may be razors with more now). I really don't see any benefit to adding all those blades. Having 10 blades doesn't do any better of a job at removing hair from one's face.

Also, shampoos. Shampoo companies try to infer outrageous claims like "their detergent will be gentle, while its competitors will violently tear through your follicles like wildfire and leave second-degree burns on your scalp." Some magic shampoo isn't going to turn your hair from a violent frizzy wreak into a lush blanket of velvet and satin.

And toilet paper. You literally wipe your butt with this stuff, but some companies make it seem like if you're not using theirs, you might as well be wiping with rocks. It's paper that you can flush. In 2008, Charmin released this little treasure:

Toilet paper with a diamond weave, which is better because diamonds.

A real game changer.

-_-

I can't wait until they're four times as wide, so that one sweep across the face does it all!

Why is it that the food inside NEVER looks like the picture on the box???

Back in the day, 1 razor blade did the trick and from what I heard, it provided a closer shave then the ones out now.

I hate those stupid State Farm commercials where they sing and expect someone to show up from another company

Yeah. Same thing with products that play into an irrational fear of dust mites.

Oh, help! We're all gonna die! We might have benign, invisible creatures in our pillowcases!

Actually, both I and my wife are allergic to dust mites (or more correctly their droppings). They will give her a major asthma attack that has in the past landed her in the hospital. So while something doesn't affect you, it doesn't mean they are benign for everyone. (Did you know they are of the spider family? Maybe that'll creep you out about them.)

To me it's not that commercials are incredibly stupid (which they are), but that they get played over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.... there should be a law about how many times you can air your useless drivel.

So you come up with some elaborate post about different kinds of toothbrushes to tell me we aren't having a second date?

Women just can't come straight out and say it can they....

Perhaps we should start buying separate toothbrushes....WHATEVER!

Moving on to the next girl...

I think my razor has 4 blades...though since i have a beard i rarely use it. But I like multiple blades its less irritating in my mind

Huh. I didn't know that was a potential allergen. But I do know that some things that appear harmless are actually quite dangerous to some people. Ironically, one other post in this thread mentioned something to which I was dangerously allergic when I was young. So I know what you're saying. :) And I hope you and your wife are both able to keep away from the little boogies.

OK, this is one commercial where I absolutely do not understand what they were thinking. I mean why bring an animated baby into a men's beard coloring commercial??? 0.o Are they trying to attract women or men who are turning gray??
