Should see the ads for this...
Goodness. It is just chewing gum for crying out loud.

YES!!! Thank you! Like it will make you experience some crazy acid trip where you see a phoenix rise from the ashes and swirl around you in a ray of different colors and make you think, 'woah...am i in the matrix?'

Talk about false advertising, and in this case, its a good thing that it is lol

I also dislike when ads show people eating a certain food and being way too happy about it.

Someone brought these popcorn chips into work today and I just had to take a picture of the back of the box.

Chill out, woman. You're eating a chip, not getting proposed to.

Maybe she's just excited because there's no room for dip in the chip bowl, thus no confusion. Or, perhaps, they just showed her the size of the check she was getting for looking like a maroon on store shelves all across America. Or, maybe, they're "Kellogg's Special K Popcorn chips...now with three times the Prozac!"

Another thought: If I had just proposed to a woman and this was her reaction, I'd backpedal and tell her "Yes it was a joke...I um...I said it to make you laugh...glad that worked...Ummmm, nooo, I'm not serious...", followed by a tear-filled trip back to the jewelry store.

I just saw a commercial recently where it was a little girls birthday party and she had an alien at the party with her. First she opens up a kitten names it mittens and is all excited, then the kitten walks off. Then she opens up a satellite dish she gets from the alien, and when she looks up to thank him the cats tail is hanging out of his mouth...Weird? Creepy? I don't even know where to begin.

She's excited to find out if her remote works to put people in fast forward, rewind, stop, etc.

I'm guessing you never watched Alf.

The truth is she's smiling because she's most likely getting paid around $2,000 to pose with that chip in her hand a few times while a crew of people make sure her that makeup, hair, lighting, camera angle, the way she's holding stuff, etc.. are all absolutely perfect for the shot. An ad like this looks very spontaneous and uncomplicated but you'd be surprised how much work actually goes into the photoshoot. In attendance would be the photographer, photographer's assistant, make-up artist, hair stylist, art director, props manager, and the client's representative/s.

I am not so sure that it looks as "spontaneous" as they were hoping it would be... :D :p

This is one of my favorite commercials. I feel so warped now... He spits it out! :)

Oh and basically anything on the kids channels about dolls for girls that are all... (hmm..how do I use the word, without using the word?) well... its just not something I would allow my daughter to play with. I saw a commercial recently about some toy rockstar doll for girls, and that they could pretend to be 'rich and famous'. Arwen's cynicism strikes again. It's so hard not to be these days :(
