Did something today I have not done in years.....Made from scratch an Apple Pie...crust and all. Used and Amish recipe for the crust and it turned out very flakey and used another cookbook for the filling recipe using a mix of apples with all the right stuff like sugar, spice and everything nice.

The house smelled wonderful and I even cut out three heart from pie dough to put on top of the crust for decoration and sprinkled with sugar and for a first time in many probably 30 - 40 years since baking a from scratch pie it turned out pretty good and since I will have someone to cook for it is fun again to discover that I can actually cook. I made a few blunders, but I know now what to do to correct and make it really good the next time.

It was fun and tourist enjoyed the warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream....yum....wish I could share over the internet, but they haven't quite figured out how to do that yet....Smell cinnamon anyone?
