Hi all ,

So I'm starting this forum for the food haha. Just a bit curious to see what are some of your favorite foods. What are some foods you want to try?would it be strang to try new food for both of you on a first date?

I've tried gator and I think rattlesnake is on my menu 😳

I'm thinking leave trying new foods until the 3rd or 4th date at least. I wouldn't want my impression of my date influenced by a new food I didn't like.

Right now I'm craving cinnamon crumb cake or probably any kind of sweet baked goods with lots of cinnamon.
May have to bake one this weekend.

It may sound strange that I haven't eaten lengua (beef tongue) yet, but that's what I'd like to try. I hear good things about it, but whenever I've gone somewhere that has it they are out. It must be pretty good lol.

I've had rattlesnake. I thought it was tasty.

If I were on a date with someone, first date or billionth date, I say we should try whatever we want. Let the adventure begin! I don't need to wait around lol.

different foods i tried are frog legs, gator, octopus. i can't remember all of them though. when dining with mrs. wife, i always get surf & turf. the surf is either lobster or alaskan crab legs. the turf is always filet mignon. for an appetizer, i dine on Kaluga caviar. i think the Beluga caviar is better but it's been outlawed. sometimes the surf can be maryland crab cakes or various summer combinations. i've tried all the foods i ever wanted to unless something new comes around that's not been on the menu. my wife goes for duck, lamb, ribeye steak, oysters, mussels & clams usually. a few variations here & there. then there's all the caribbeans foods you can think of. we tried them all. like them very much.

I would try something my date likes, as long as my date is getting something I know I can eat. That way I can try one bite with a clean fork, and if it turns out I don't like it we can swap.

Actually I cannot off hand think of anything I have not yet tried that I want to try. At least nothing where there is a question whether I would like it or not.

There are many kinds of fish I have never tried, but I am almost certain I would like them. But in Southwest Tennessee you can only get catfish, or maybe salmon if you're lucky, at the restaurants.

I had live octopus once in Seoul. I'd post the video, but I dunno if some folks here could stomach it...
quite neat NightTwister! i would like to try it. i eat octopus salad when in Boqueron Beach, Puerto Rico. right out of the ocean, fresh in the a.m. the fishermen are out 4 a.m., the catch is made, inspected & then it's salad!

Some cc members may consider me a pusher of beef tongue. Although if I didn't get such good reactions I wouldn't talk about it as much.

Rudolf is delicious! Rudolf stew in Lapland... that was so delicious! When I made it, it wasn't as good.. I need their recipe.

About trying a new foods, maybe not on a first date. What if I would not like the food and would have a whole plate in front of me to eat, I would not want to waste. If it would be bite sized tasting, and nothing too extreme..

Salmon is another favourite one of mine! Today I bought salmon to make a soup out of it, but most likely I just throw it in the oven, because I don't think I have enough dill for the soup.. Nor the patience at the moment to make a soup.

I am tempted to try bear, but don't know where I could taste other than a canned one. Bear burger or some sort of stew, maybe. They say bear has a strong taste, so I don't know if I would like it

I like simple foods, I'm not adventurous at all. But I'd be interested in trying wild game - moose, deer, rabbit. I'd eat them but I probably wouldn't try them on a first date unless I already knew this person really well.

I'd like to try bear!
Here in Oklahoma, a bear hunting license can be kinda hefty and you're only allowed one bear...which is surely enough. The license is valid for a year. Anyway, if I ever get a chance to try bear, I'd definitely do it.

But I'd be interested in trying wild game - moose, deer, rabbit.
Wild game is good eating imo. I think that rabbit and deer are both very tasty.
I also recommend deer jerky. I've tried deer jerky made by a local hunter. It was the best jerky I've eaten.
I haven't had the chance to try moose (yet), but a close friend of mine says it's very delicious.

Bear is good. They had it on the menu at a men's wild meat supper one time. It's just another meat. It has its own flavor, but it's not like anything else so I can't say it tastes like this or that. It just tastes like bear.

Anybody for emu eggs? One egg can make scrambled eggs for a family of four. You need a hammer to crack it though.

Oh yeah, by the way... That wasn't rudolph. That was blitzen. He's been showing very poorly in time trials lately. He got replaced. Santa don't play, yo.
