Oh dear Demi. Please start another thread.

If you break one part of the Law you break it all.

The Law is broken.

Ok, back to the original question:

When was the Law annulled?

Mat 5v17, think not that I am come to destroy the law !!!! yet...
Eph 2v15, having abolished in his own flesh the law of commandments ''contained in ordinances/works....
this would create confusion if we did not differentiate between laws which Christians seem unable to do ...why ? because of disobedience and not submitting to the RIGHTEOUS law (Commandments) of God. The 10 that HE gives are eternal/spiritual holy, just and good for all time, but the other commandments contained in works/ordinances are only temporal and not eternally holy.

For the Christian the only 'law' applying are the 10 Commandments in a nutshell or now 'enhanced by Jesus - but still the same principles - love God and neighbour. These are ALL/WHOLE law, not the hundreds given through Moses. But man has broken it by rejecting the first 4 !

It doesn't seem as important to me to know exactly when, just that God established the new Covenant through Christ Jesus death upon the cross and His resurrection.

You can choose:

1. At the last supper when Jesus established communion..The symbolism is intense surrounding the bread and the wine.

2. When Jesus died upon the cross

3. When Jesus rose from the dead

4. When Jesus ascended into heaven and was seated on His throne

5. When He returns a second time (some people do hold this view, I don't.)

Not really sure what you want to discuss, welcome to the forums ZEEK.

PS good luck trying to keep the thread on topic, the conversation tends to wander. We have quite a few who have pet topics they love to insert into any conversation....Sabbath keeping, grace vs. Law debate, etc.

Why would Paul tell us we are dead to this enhanced Law you talk about?

Why did Paul tell us that the law was about to expire?

But I don't really want to get sidetracked into this argument, you would be better starting a new thread.

For those who believe the Law is now expired, (and we are no longer under the Law, and the Levitical Priesthood is obsolete, etc, etc, etc) when exactly did it expire?

One thing I have noticed is many somehow or other think the kingdom of God was on this corrupted earth .Never was as if we did know Christ after the rudiments of this world that He promises will vanish in smoke. This is not our eternal home, again never will be .

But to give you a answer as to the time? The time of the reformation when the shadows and types in respect to an outward carnal flesh of Jew were no longer used .

Having served there purpose as a parable/figure pointing ahead to the suffering Christ and the glory that followed. That previous used the things seen as the temporal that as shadow pointed ahead to the un-seen faith principle, the eternal.

The government was restored back to the period of judges when there was no outward representation of the eternal temple .Which believers are that temple today.

The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: Heb 9:8

Remembering the key that without parables, Christ the anointing Holy Spirit of God spoke not, and Hebrew 9 is no exception.

Figure are shadows that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience The apostate Jew in whom the Spirit of Christ did not dwell in as merely an outward Jew worshiped the shadows making the temple and its furniture into idols. Which today many still do worship. They have come up against a brick wall that cannot speak

Which was a figure/parable for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until “the time of reformation” .But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Heb 9:9

Reformations restore. What period do you think it was restored to?

Isaiah 2:3 (KJV)
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths:

for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Micah 4:2 (KJV)
And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths:

for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

1 Chronicles 16:17 (KJV)
And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law,
and to Israel for [an everlasting covenant,]

Psalms 105:10 (KJV)
And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law,
and to Israel for [an everlasting covenant]:

Psalms 78:5 (KJV)
For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel,
which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

Isaiah 42:24 (KJV)
Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the Lord,
he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways,
neither were they obedient unto his law.
-

Romans 9:4 (KJV)
Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants,
and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;

-

Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments,
and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven:

but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great
in the kingdom of heaven.

I haven't heard that the law expired though I have heard if a person believes in Jesus the law expires.

I want to discuss when the Law ended :)

The law of Moses will always be - it is just NOT for the righteous - which is the one who is in Christ. Christ is our righteousness.

We live now by the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus, the law of love, the law of liberty in Christ, the law of faith ( the law is NOT of faith ) , the law of Christ - Himself in us. The Christian has nothing to do with the law of Moses now other than to see Jesus in it. And we can't separate the law out - it is all one package deal.

Romans 10:4 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Opps....I didn't see FreeNChrist's post when I did this one.

Right. The Law is misused by many to establish righteousness. But, it is Jesus who is the end, the end-objective of the Law, the One who the Law was pointing to as our means of righteousness.

The time of reformation.

Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the "time of reformation."

Strongs lexicon 1357 diorthosis {dee-or'-tho-sis} from a compound of 1223 and a derivative of 3717, meaning to straighten thoroughly; TDNT - 5:450,727; n f
AV - reformation 1; 1 1) in a physical sense, a making straight, restoring to its natural and normal condition something which in some way protrudes or has got out of line, as broken or misshapen limbs 2) of acts and institutions, reformation

This is not in respect to a spiritual sense. God's word is not subject to reform.

Most Judaizers I have experienced don't want to talk about the refomation and the changes ?

What time period do you think it was restored to?

The law as Jesus and Paul meant:

But now we are discharged from the law

For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished

Was *all* accomplished yet that's found in the law?
