Who can forget the Ferguson protests wherein Ferguson police were dispatched in military vehicles, bearing military weapons, using teargas, and outfitted more like the military than the local small city police department?
Come to find out the federal government equips local state police agencies with military weapons, Hummers, armored SUV's, etc... And have been for years.

So, what happens when police departments in parts of the country start losing those machine guns? Badges, Hummers, yes, Hummers, etc...?

Yes well there is a correlation between race and crime. Statistics show that members of different races have different propensities to commit crimes. One of the consequences of changing racial demographics as occurred in Ferguson, MO is a change in crime patterns.

The Handbook of Crime Correlates (2009) is a literature review of over 5200 scientific studies examining how many different factors correlate with and otherwise are related to crime. Many of the studies are from the United States but the review also includes studies from other countries. The review states that studies on official data consistently finds higher crimes rates for Blacks than for Whites, especially regarding violent offenses. Victim surveys also show higher black crime rates.

Predictably, as Ferguson MO grew less white and more black in a deindustrialized recessionary economic environment, their population of poor citizens doubled and their crime rate increased (though not the Greater St Louis area's crime rate which decreased until 2011 and then began increasing again).

Increasing crime, poor behavior, an economic transformation of the community from a middle class suburb to a poverty affected city, etc... resulted in escalating tension for a police department use to policing a prosperous, well behaved, suburb. Simple. The bigger the organization, it doesn't matter whether it's corporate or government, the easier it is to make things "disappear" without it going noticed for an extended time frame. Lets say there are 50 vehicles in use by 40 different people at different times throughout different shifts in a week. How likely is it that one vehicle missing for an extended time will go unnoticed when at any given time through the day at least 15 of those vehicles are in service?

Routine audits of federal agencies ALWAYS come up with expensive equipment missing.

I would think there is. It happened anyways. If you've ever been in the military, like I was once, you see things like this occur from time to time during times of organizational stress such as large military exercises, war, etc...

Do You Have Scripture for the "Ain't It Awful" Theories?

There are things that happen which seem appalling (but would Paul approve?)
given the traditional American Libertarian perspective, going back to Founding Fathers (who seem to have been strangely obtuse as to slavery). But are those things appalling to the Bible? Help us out, if you will, by quoting Bible to confirm the "Ain't It Awful" theory over authoritarian government/police.

Romans 13 should not be overlooked or ignored:

13:1 Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God; and the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God: and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment.

3 For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And wouldest thou have no fear of the power?
Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same: 4 for he is a minister of God to thee for good. [BTW, this last vs indicates that a saved man may be spiritually asleep; yet he is saved.]
In an incident in California (great gun-restricting state) a couple of guys did a bank hold-up and were covered with bullet-proof body armor & had fully auto AK47's. The cops were seriously outgunned. Such incidents suggest that cops do need the necessary military equipment since the crooks have such stuff. Errors will happen & innocent persons will be killed. But that is better than being ruled by criminal gangs.

Really don't want to be here when all hell breaks lose during the Tribulation Period. It will be a "free for all" war. And most police dept/law enforcement agencies are making preparations for the war ahead.

"In Romans 13 Paul focuses on the tension between the individual and society at large in terms of the problem of civil obedience or disobedience. If we cannot give uncritical and unquestioning allegiance to the demands of society and its governing authorities, we must also be careful not to go to the other extreme, that of concluding that government is inevitably an evil institution which should be resisted, disobeyed, distrusted or ignored."
