Where does a single go..

Hi,

I'm new here and still getting used to things. My first time joining a forum to be honest and so far everyone seems to be really friendly.

Probably everyone posting on here is single. However my question is where does one go to find a decent Christian man besides church?

I am having bad luck out here in the Golden State. I mean I've had dates, a ex fiancee but they weren't/aren't decent that don't value me or have good Christian values. Now I feel like my standards are too high lol

I'm sorry to tell you that the last good Christian man left California 20 years ago. :D

Depending on the area you live in (since not all of CA is major cities) you may have fewer options but among other things, try volunteering at you local food pantry, homeless ministry, etc.

Of course you could try a different church too. I've known singles in my area griping about the lack of quality persons to date yet the church that I attend has an average of three to four weddings a year (no, it's not a mega-church).
 
There is an endless stream of people saying they can't find any good Christian men/women. I find it strange so many make this complaint. How can so many make the same complaint? Theres something that doesn't match up.

I've always disagreed with the whole "try a new church" mentality. It puts church as a singles market and changes the reason people go into church.
 
I'm reminded of a Chonda Pierce skit I just heard on one of these old CDs I found last week. Chonda and a friend are complaining to each other about men - Chonda's husband leaving messes all over the place and the friend's boss at work being negligent and demanding.

Suddenly a third woman comes in and says "Girls, girls, I have a serious prayer request. Please help me pray that God will send a man into my life."

Now in my experience if you pray hard enough and long enough for something... sometimes God will give you it even though you don't need it. So unless you can identify a genuine NEED for a man in your life right now, maybe it would be better to just wait for a bit.

Of course the automatic reply to "Help me pray God will send a man into my life" is "No way sister! There is nothing you could do that would make us hate you enough to pray for that to happen to you." :p
 
I can tell you what a single shouldn't do. Don't drive through town while the local Christmas parade is in progress... :eek:

No worries sister we must hv standard to choose the right person coz he/she will accompany us n sharing the life together in all conditions in good or bad times, in happy n sad moment.
I hv my own standards too n i consult it in pray to GOD to meet me with the choosen one He wants not i want, therefore iam soo picky or too picky i just wanna making sure if he is the right one.

Cheer up n be patience sis coz everything come in His right time amen 😊
