Hey @Niki7 , the derailing of topics is another fact of life which i have made peace with (in forums or real life), so it doesn't even register on my radar as a problem.
But you did mention the meaning of the pills which i think would be interesting to discuss.

I see the Blue Pill as Bliss and the Red pill as Knowledge and Wisdom.
The names are taken from the movie Matrix but in reality, more knowledge or wisdom can be harmful, i think, which is why The Blue Pill would be more favorable.
Sort of like being in a child-like state, where Jesus Christ said wants us to be.

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. "
The Bible does say that there is a lot of grief in it, and also that he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.

About derailments
once a thread hits 2,000 posts, i figure it's fair game for anything, especially if the topic is particularly contentious.
i mean, what is anyone going to say that hasn't already been said?

@maxwel can always find something that hasn't been considered.

you're right, of course. max is really good at it, and he's not alone. i don't think most folks intend to derail a thread; rather they read something a trifle off piste, want to respond to that thought, and thus unintentionally take things further off the tracks.

i accept your gentle rebuke, and will attempt to refrain from suggesting we have pie all over the boards. :)

Whn I receive anotification of a post, I respond to the object of the notice without regard to the original subject title.
This is what occurs when we are dialoguing, I believe, and it is far from some form of intentional derailing..

Thin! If there are already dozens of responses to a given thread, most, I included, are not about to read the entire thread in order to respond to the subject of the notification. Dialogue.
