How does someone become a part of that group?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Peace.

Notice the word 'very' elect of God. This means that of the group that claims to belong to God, the group that actually does is even smaller. And so what hope is there for those who don't even claim to belong to God? 1 Peter 4:18 "And if it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"

This is how you become part of the group that actually belong to God and will therefore go to heaven...

You must hear, believe, repent, confess Jesus is God's Son, be baptized into Christ, take the Lords supper upon the first day of the week in the assembly of the saints, feed off the word of God, never stop growing in Christ, never stop trying to get rid of sin in your life, always try to obey God by doing what the bible says, use the bible as your only doctrine, have constant fellowship with God (prayer), and be faithful until you leave this world.

"Not everyone who says to Me 'Lord, Lord!' will enter heaven, but only those who DO the will of my Father Who is in heaven."

"They worship Me in vain- their doctrine is merely human rules."

"With flames of fire (hell) God will take vengeance on those who (1) know not God, and (2) obey not the gospel of His Son." What is the gospel? It is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. How do we obey His death, burial, and resurrection? By doing the same. When we get baptized in Christ, we die to ourself, bury our old sinful self in the watery grave of baptism, and are raised a new creature alive with the Ho,y Spirit- Who marks us for salvation. But we can lose that salvation if we leave God and the church and go back to living in the world.

I AM the Elect of God!

All those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior ARE the Elect of God!

Those who have rejected Jesus are not the Elect.

Its clear as day and night.
Not true. Elect as in vote someone in. God is the only voter.

Wow! Thanks for taking the time to find all that, mpaper 345.

Part of what you said above was:

"Many people claim Jesus as Lord and Savior, but the elect are those led of the Spirit, which you will know them by their fruits, for they will act like Christ, and not worldly."

I don't disagree with what you said above...but we probably have to allow for some things. I have known people who act so Christ-like to others that I have come out and asked them, "Are you Christian?" And sometimes they say 'no'. And I've had to tell them that I thought they might be because of how they treat other people or something.

So it seems some people can have the appearance of being Spirit-led even if they maybe aren't?

And we probably have to allow for people who are Christians who still struggle with sin. They don't want to sin. They try not to. But they do. Then they get back up and try not to again. I think that is different than people who are comfortable with sin and have no intention of trying to stop sinning, perhaps.

God Bless.
God doesn't choose us because of our sinlessness, or he'd choose no one. lol

Through faith in the TRUTH and PROMISE of GOD which is all found in HIS SON.

And being faithful to the TRUTH and PROMISE of GOD in all seasons, in all trials, in all troubles trusting and knowing that GOD makes due on all HIS WORD and PROMISES

And for those who are IN CHRIST JESUS...ALL GOD'S PROMISES are "YES!"...and "AMEN!"

Nah! God did all the "must" for us, because we would not and could not. We don't elect ourselves. We would not, if we had that choice. (John 3:16-21) God chooses us.

Believe the GOSPEL sir...
Even those who believe in HIS NAME shall be saved.
For there is no other salvation given to man but in by and through THE SON whom THE FATHER sent for the sins and salvation of all men...those who believe in HIM...

GOD knew there would be a set apart people called by and marked by HIS NAME.
Those possessions are in THE HOUSE which GOD is even now building up in THE BODY of HIS SON
And HIS SON alone will present back to HIS FATHER, THE HOUSE/THE BODY/THE CHURCH...which is HIS BRIDE...

Love the LORD with all your heart with all your soul, and with all your strength...for GOD has done a most awesome and unfathomable work in sending HIS SON to save those who apart from THE SON are separated from GOD...

Actually through God's love and mercy!

And God chooses those who obey Him.
GOD will call whom GOD will call...
Those who "Obey" are those who have become slaves to the RIGHTEOUSNESS of faith which comes by and through and in JESUS CHRIST alone.

Those who "obey" allow GOD to justify both the wicked and the "righteous" and they do not, for one second, decide for themselves with their own dimsighted eyes between the wheat and the tares now.

They allow all to grow together until the HARVESTER comes...and does HIS work of separating the wheat and bringing it into HIS BARN...from the tares.

Do you have a better way of determining who is obeying the GOSPEL and the LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Especially here on a website?
Will you decide who should hear the GOSPEL?

Nah! God did all the "must" for us, because we would not and could not. We don't elect ourselves. We would not, if we had that choice. (John 3:16-21) God chooses us.

God chooses those who obey Him. Yes we MUST obey Him. It is not enough to believe in Him and call Him 'Lord'. Obviously those who call Him Lord believe in Him, yet He says not everyone who calls Him Lord will enter, but only those who DO the will of His Father.

Here's the call of all the prophets sir...from the beginning:
If today you hear HIS VOICE, harden not your heart

But here also is the "dilemma"

Make the hearts of these people fat and give them eyes that see not and ears that hear not LEST THEY SHOULD UNDERSTAND WITH THE HEART...turn...and HE SHOULD HEAL THEM.

The problem is that some don't realize that they are sick and need a PHYSICIAN...

And that is the judgment that CHRIST said:

Look into it:

"for judgment I have come...
I believe HE said this and explained this to the "Blind man" from birth who made a right judgment about this "man" while those who were learned in the Law and thought they knew GOD, couldn't and didn't.

Balderdash! Don't teach what you don't know!

I know the bible, and that it says "Not everyone who calls Me Lord will enter, but ONLY those who DO the will of My Father."- how is that not obedience? How can you say that obedience is not a requirement when Jesus says it is?

Do you know then what the will and the work of GOD is?
Would you please explain it?
Because it is clearly laid out in GOD'S WORD as per John 6, coming straight from the mouth of the LORD what the WILL and the WORK of GOD is...

Look into it

I already gave the verse that refute your position. Look them up! You really have no idea what you're talking about. The question was ELECTION.

You're right. Not everyone who calls him Lord will enter. And yet the question was election, not glorification.

All those who have been born of the SPIRIT of GOD are the elect.

John 3:16
King James Version(KJV)

16.)For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Someone might ask,how does a person believe?

+++

Romans 10:4-17
King James Version(KJV)

4.)For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

5.)For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.

6.)But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)

7.)Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

8.)But what saith it? The WORD is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: THAT is the word of faith, which we preach;

9.)That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10.)For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11.)For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12.)For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13.)For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14.)How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15.)And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16.)But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17.)So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Actually through God's love and mercy!

Yes of course. But whom He will have Mercy on has not been disclosed to those who are called to preach the Gospel of Salvation in His Son

Which is why we were called to preach to all men and not decide for ourselves who is worthy to hear the message
