Who are the "very Elect of God"?

God does all the work of drawing someone to himself. He seals them by giving them the Holy Spirit, which allows them to believe on him unto their salvation, trusting in him. It is all his work, not theirs. They are essentially a new person. He knows who they will be since he has elected them.

If anyone wants to be saved, there is certainly nothing wrong with calling out to God and telling him that, asking him for salvation and asking to go his way. Who knows, perhaps the desire to be saved is something that God himself put there and God is in process of saving that person. When God is pouring out his Spirit, we read: "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Not according to Scripture:

Ephesians 1
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Here's the order:
1. one hears the gospel of Christ concerning His death, burial and resurrection for sins
2. one believes, trusts on the gospel of Christ
3. one is sealed by the Holy Spirit guaranteeing them of the redemption, the adoption

No one is regenerated or elected before they are in Christ, God's elect(Isaiah 42).

1. Who gave you the ears to hear?
Luke 8

8 ...........And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.9And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? 10And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

2. Who allowed you to believe, trust or have faith?... Can you boast of yourself?

3. Who does the sealing?
2 Corinthians 1

21Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Ephesians 1​
4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.

But that is the SECOND commandment. First His wrath is revealed against UNGODLINESS only secondarily against UNRIGHTEOUSNESS (Rom 1.18).

Unless we obey the FIRST commandment the rest is in vain.

We are chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world (eph 1.4), we are justified whilst we are still ungodly (rom 4.5), the consequence is that God puts His Holy Spirit within us and we are begotten of God. That is the Scriptural order.
