So I was in chat today talking to a member who shall remain nameless and one of the lighter topics we discussed was Winnie the Pooh, which I think is just classic and an essential part of any childhood.

To my dismay my chat partner did not see the appealing qualities of either Pooh or Piglet and instead went on a rather nonsensical rant about how Tigger could hold a show all on his own, which is simple madness, in my opinion.

So here we put it to a vote, who is the best character(s) from Winnie the Pooh?

I put this in the singles forum for two reasons, (1) threads get buried fast in miscellaneous (2) I want to out all those who'd vote for anyone but Pooh or Piglet as not fit to ever have a companion, the rest of us singles need to know who you are, so we can stay away! :D

First of all, I think the person you must have been talking to in chat sounds completely rational and extremely well-balanced and I would most definitely have to agree with that person... after all, Tigger completely rocks and can at least be classified as a real animal. (I know what a tig(g)er is but does anyone, anyone at all out there know exactly WHAT a "Pooh" is??? For example... Kermit the Frog... I know what a frog is... but Winnie the Pooh... What, pray tell, is a Pooh??)

Tigger completely kicks (or perhaps, bounces) and of course he could hold his own on any turf.

I happen to like Tigger because he is spontaneous and adventurous.

Pooh--too cautious

Piglet--too neurotic and extremely needy

Rabbit--too annoying

Eeyore--at least he's realisitic!

Owl--too narcissistic and downright boring

And I am personally dismayed that you happened to lump Kanga and Roo together--just because they share the same living space doesn't mean they're the same person--I'm sure they have their own INDIVIDUAL QUALITIES--because I would have also picked Roo, seeing as the little guy would often coax and befriend Tigger (my hero) to get over his own fears... If they would have given Roo more of a chance and stronger character development, I'm sure The Tigger and Roo Show would have been an extreme smashing success!!

So... according to these highly unusual dating standards ("The Hundred Acre Woods Measure of Dating"?) I guess I am completely, hopelessly, and infinitely un-date-able...

But you know what? I bet Tigger and Roo would tell me, who cares what some looney Winnie-the-Pooh nut thinks! Just be yourself and go for it!!

Which, of course, is why my vote goes to them.

Tigger had his own move - derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Piglet is the best by far.

As we all know, the meek shall inheret the earth.

The Russian pooh kicks Disney's ass. If you watch it you will understand. He is quirky and eccentric and funny and mischievous, not a goody goody like the Disney one.

Yea its a Russian animation vs Disney thing. Bring it on. :D

I always thought the Winnie the poo was kinda slow. Animation not as cool as a lot of others. And any kids I ever been around weren't crazy about it either. But I'm glad there was something light hearted on the site. Made me smile. Can't believe anyone argued about any of it though. Life is funny!

I always loved the original Winnie the Pooh from 1977, the three shorts all combined together, for me they got it right the first time so they never needed to do it again!

I guess once you've seen something as a child new versions that come along when you're older just don't have the magic anymore, if/when I have kids they'll be watching this just like I did.

Oh and a public apology, I should have listed Kanga and Roo seperately, that was very mean of me

On his letterbox does it say "Mr Sanders"

Actually... a lot of these characters' personalities mirror most of the potential dates I've encountered the last several years...

I'm going to have to start canvassng for Piglet votes!

Tigger can't even talk properly, come on people!

I don't know which one is the best. They're all awesome.

Poor, poor Matthew.

Don't you know that's one of the things that makes Tigger adorable? (His ACCENT, ha ha ha.)

Piglet gave up his house!!!! after the blustery day so poor old Eyeore had somewhere to live! he's all heart!

Tigger can't even walk or talk, you Tigger fans are sadly misguided
