Thank you for this post sister, how well I relate. I came to CC to fellowship with other believers, and observed such bullying the first day I almost didn't come back. Even so, I am grateful for CC, and that I did come back. It was here that I learned I should be observing the Sabbath, among other things. It is amazing how far just a little bit of truth goes! One truth leads to another truth.

Learning about the Feasts has been a blessing also. After some research, and knowing that our Messiah will return during the Fall Feasts, I am surprised there is not more discussion about that. Counting the Omer is not popular either, apparently.

It's not fun and games. We are supposed to earnestly contend for the faith once delivered to the saints! Get religion out of the way, because man made rules won't cut it.

Keep the faith sister! It is so worth it!

"One truth leads to another truth."

Ain't THAT the Truth! AMEIN! How well I know this too.

I joined CC last October 2013 and before joining I had never heard the word Judaizer, but shortly after making a few posts I was labeled as one. I had no idea what it was all I knew was that I observed a 7th day Sabbath and believed in God's 10 Commandments. I know that we are saved by the blood of Jesus and His grace and mercy. But others don't seem to ever hear me when I say that. I know I will never be able to earn my way to heaven, but I also know that God says if You love me keep my commandments.

I also up until a short time ago had never heard of the Hebrew Roots Movement and have been accused of that also... So how can I be either one of these labeled things if I never knew about either until I joined this site... I also have to say that I try not to label anyone any kind of name, because I would hope that we are all seeking to know the truth and wanting to get closer to Jesus/God/Holy Spirit. I was kind of taken aback the first time I was called a name and had no idea that someone would say I was legalistic for wanting to obey Gods 10 commandments. Thanks for this thread.
Who accused of these things? Can you post the actual accusations? A judaizer is a person who encourages gentiles to live as a jew. Paul used the term "Judaize" of people who wanted Gentiles to become circumcised.

Yes, and what an eye opener to find error in what I had believed for as long as I remember. It was handed down to me, and I didn't question it until recently. The New Testament/Covenant is not at odds with the Old Testament/Covenant. All the Bible agrees, and if it seems not to, it's time to investigate!

(it doesn't hurt to investigate Constantine either)

Then Shaul himself is guilty of that, because in Acts 15 those were "OT" principles.

and Messiah is one of those too then:

Mattithyah 5:19, "Whosoever, therefore, will break one of the least of these Laws, and will teach men so, he will be called the least in the Kingdom of Yahweh; but whosoever will do and teach them, the same will be called great in the Kingdom of Yahweh."

Mattithyah 5:18, "For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh--the smallest of the letters--will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected."

Luke 16:17, "But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one yodh of the Law to fail."

Mattithyah 7:23, "But then I will declare to them; I never knew you. Get away from Me, you who practice iniquity."

iniquity is:#0458 anomia {an-om-ee'-ah} from G0459

Greek Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar)
1) the condition of without law
1a) because ignorant of it
1b) because of violating it
2) contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness

Luke 6:46, "And why call Me; Ruler! Ruler! and do not the things which I say?"

Revelation 22:12-15, "And behold, I come quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work will be. I am the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who keep His Laws, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and worshipers of gods and everyone who professes to love, yet practices falsehood."

Funny thing, Yahweh must be one of those too?

Isayah 56:1-7, "This is what Yahweh says: Keep the judgments, and do justly; for My salvation is near, soon, to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who lays hold on it; who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them; and keeps his hand from doing any evil. Do not let the son of the Gentile, who has joined himself to Yahweh, speak, saying; Yahweh has utterly separated me from His people. Nor let the eunuch say; Behold, I am a dry tree. For this is what Yahweh says: To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and choose those things which eplease Me, and hold fast to My covenant: I will give to them, in My House, even within My walls, a place and a Name equal to that of sons and of daughters; I will give them the Name of The Everlasting: YAHWEH; which will not be cut off. Also the sons of the Gentile who join themselves to Yahweh, to serve Him, and to love the Name of Yahweh, to be His servants--everyone who keeps the Sabbaths without polluting; defiling, them and who holds fast to My covenant--I will bring them to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My House of prayer..."

You better rip Romans 3 out of your Bible:

Romans 3:31, "Are we then doing away with the Law through the faith? By no means! Rather, we establish the Law!"

the word Law is: 3551. nomos
nomos: that which is assigned, hence usage, law
Original Word: νόμος, ου, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: nomos
Phonetic Spelling: (nom'-os)
Short Definition: a law, the Mosaic Law

It depends on which century you consult. The most recent definition is as you say, however, was not the definition at the first use of the word, as you can clearly see from the OP.

Consider this, truth does not change. Man's opinion does.

Amen. Thank you for your post.

I read posts on this thread where some people actually claimed to be a Judaizer with pride! Some see it as a Nazi insult or name calling. The truth is it is a word in the bible used by apostle Paul to describe Christians who insisted Gentiles must be circumcised. It is a Christian term.

Much to do about nothing...

Then Shaul himself is guilty of that,
"Judaizer" is Paul's word.

because in Acts 15 those were "OT" principles.
First, these regulation were not Paul's.

Secondly, abstinence from food sacrificed to idols and strangled meat were temporary concessions to the Christian Jews in Antioch, Syria and Silicia for the sake of harmony in the Christian fellowship with Gentiles.

These concessions were later removed (1Co 10:25; 1Tim 4:4-5; Ro 14:14, 17, 20).

So Danschance and Elin,

Is keeping the 7th day Sababth or saying one should keep the 7th day Sabbath "Judaizing?"

Again, you are taking this verse out of context.

Verse 27 states clearly what law Paul is referring to and it is not the Mosaic law.
Verse 28 states we are saved by grace and not by the works of the law.
Verse 30 Paul states the circumcised (those kept the Mosaic law) and the uncircumcised (gentiles not keeping the mosaic law) are both justified. This alone nullifies the Mosaic law in that if you do not keep one of the Mosaic laws, you are condemned by the rest)

Just because the NT mentions the word "law" does not automatically mean Mosaic law! (see 1Cor. 9:21 for proof)

The first use of the word was in Gal 2:14, and it meant "to live as do the Jews."

Paul used the term judaize of those who insisted the gentile converts must be circumcised. So if one claims gentile converts must keep the sabbath then that might be considered judaizing, but it would also depend on one's motivation for doing so.

Thank you for the reply.

I dont see it that way at all, I see the so called "10 Commandments" as something all followers should do, not as a optional thing. The 7th day Sababth is said by Yahweh directly to be for gentiles also. Now to me if one said the Sabbath had to be kept in accordance with Talmudic law, then that is "Judaizing" I am against that, I believe only in submission to Yahweh and whatever Yahweh says.

So again I disagree, but thank you for the reply.

For now, if you live in the States you may keep the Sabbath. A time is coming when we will be more than harassed on internet chat for doing it. Hold fast to your faith brothers and sisters! Don't let anyone take your crown, keep the love of Yahshua in your hearts, and remember He has conquered the world.
