Lets break this down

Mattithyah 5:17, "Do not even think that I have come to destroy the Law or the prophets; I have not come to destroy them, but to fulfill them."

First off twice in this one verse Yahshua says He “did not come to destroy the Law or the Prophets.”

He said He came to “fulfill them.”

Lets let scripture interpret scripture –

Yahshua knew satan would beguile many into a false interpretation of these words of His, this is why HE said IN THE NEXT SENTENCE:

Mattithyah 5:18, "For truly I say to you; Unless heaven and earth passes away, one yodh--the smallest of the letters--will in no way pass from the Law, until all things are perfected."

Has "heaven and earth passed away?".......A quick look out the window shows us no heaven and earth did not pass away.

Have "all things been perfected?".........Still sin and death in the world, so no all things have not been perfected.

So there are 2 things that Messiah says will happen before ANYTHING is taken from Yahweh's Law...NEITHER has happened.

For now, if you live in the States you may keep the Sabbath. A time is coming when we will be more than harassed on internet chat for doing it. Hold fast to your faith brothers and sisters! Don't let anyone take your crown, keep the love of Yahshua in your hearts, and remember He has conquered the world.

[SUP]17 [/SUP]The dragon was infuriated over the woman and went off to fight the rest of her children, those who obey God’s commands and bear witness to Yeshua.

It will be MUCH more than harrrassment...

Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

How cute! How are you Karraster?
Sure He did, He came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets!

so no He was not a Judaiser!
much love

Fulfill as in we don't have to keep it now? So if someone comes over to you home tonight, breaks in, has his way with your spouse, kills you and takes everything you have, it is really OK 'cause Jesus fulfilled all those old "Jewish" Laws?

As Elin said, No Judaizers before the death of Christ. She is 100% correct. Christianity did not come into being until after the death of Christ and that is when the Judaizers came into being as they insisted Gentile believers should be circumcised. The book of Galatians, written by apostle Paul was against the teachings of the Judaizers who tried to blend the Mosaic laws with the Gospel of grace.

So, exhorting someone to live in Judaism could not exist prior to Christ's death?

If it doesn't matter to you that Christ followed the Law of Yahweh because he hadn't died yet, then does it matter to you that he went around for over a month hanging out with people in a glorified resurrected body? Think he broke any laws during that time? I think probably as the author of the law, and the spirit of the prophets, he would not only follow them perfectly, but would want his brothers (who he PURCHASED) to obey they laws as he requested. When he said, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments," what is your opinion of what he meant by that? What commandments do you think you aught to follow?

I'm not trying to be rude, it's a serious question, and I'm very curious as to what you think on the matter.

I think a lot of the problem, is with Shabbat. People don't know how it effects their worship on Sundays, should they change the worship time of their assembly, should they stop working on Saturdays, and with all the goofy regulations that the Rabbi's put out there about should or should not be done, people just recoil from it.

Also, the fact that modern Judaism is just a collection of Rabbinical teachings is very important, because a Judaizer would want people to follow the Rabbinical Law (which can't be done). Whereas someone who exhorts someone to follow the laws of God, is not a Judaizer, because Judaism transgresses the law of God by their traditions. Lets call things for what they are.

Judaism today is not what it claims to be, if it were, they would all love Jesus. Therefore, a Judaizer could more accurately be called a 'power and control freak', they don't want you to follow Judaism, they are not following Judaism, there is no such thing anymore and it is the enemy, who wants you to forfeit, because it is the only way to lose a battle that was already won for us.

So now we have a world where nothing is what it seems to be or claims to be, but we have to pretend it is because otherwise people freak out so bad that there's no way to get anything done. If you don't want to follow the laws, that's fine. When Jesus comes with a rod of iron, maybe you will repent, until then I am wasting my time, because nothing I can say will make a difference if you aren't listening. If you don't want knowledge, nobody can force it on you. I don't blame you.... in years past, I would have taken slavery over beheading too.

I joined cc after several years studying OT with a class called "Torahclass", a class that says it is teaching Torah as a root of Christ. The class promises not to teach scripture from any human viewpoint but only scripture. If there is a question, the instructor gives all the different interpretations, saying scripture isn't clear. Each teaching of the OT is taken to how Christ fulfilled it.

If any of my postings reflected this, giving value to OT teachings as what Christ fulfilled, the outcry on cc was very loud. I was called a demon, besides Hebrew Roots Movement, Judaizer, teacher of the law to save---the entire works. I've been told by a sincere Christian teacher I must never post anything on cc again, that no one takes anything I say seriously.

The class I am taking is very popular, even Amazon sells their classes, yet most of the people on cc would go on and on about this very in depth OT study. Christ is the focus of the class, yet cc members say such is of the devil! It makes you wonder.

I really appreciate you RedTent if we did not live in opposite corners of the US I'd come and visit you. I am thrilled that you are on CC and I know you love God. I could learn a lot from you with the wisdom you have gained in life. I just don't understand why some folks don't get the importance of God writing His 10 Commandments on stone with His own finger giving us His directions to a full life and telling us how we can love Him and the people around us. I am so glad there are others on CC like yourself who value Gods commandments. I wish they could understand that we are not legalistic just because we want to obey God.

"Judaize" is Paul's word (Gal 2:14), and he used it to refer to Jewish professing Christians following Jewish customs.

Professing Christians who want Mosaic regulations added to the gospel are Judaizers.

That, and nothing else, is its meaning.

to me, people freaking about the attack of the judaizers is dangerous. it detracts from the fact that the magick practiced by those in any realm of the occult, stems originally from the Rabbi's and their Kabbalah stuff...which is really just a study of spiritual sciences, if you will, regarding the powers of this world. In other words, they study the enemy's methods of manipulating the Earth...and people like the illuminati/rosacrucians/masons, and every branch of paganism this side of Russia, use it like a guide for following Satan (regardless of what they want to call the enemy, as some call him god, and some even call him jesus, while others pick a particular angel or demon- it's all elemental animism)

how can we manage when the enemy's disciples do what he says, but professing Christians don't think they should have to obey the God who saves us?

ok....deep breaths....

Elin, seriously...what laws do you want or not want to follow. Be specific, please. Which laws are people trying to get you to add?

I don't want to dismiss your position, I want to understand it, because I love you in Christ.

You mean like the Ten Commandments?

Nope, it is just that this issue has already been addressed. No discussion necessary.
Well, in the discussion, "exhorting someone to live in Judaism" was not the meaning of "Judaize."

It's meaning is adding Jewish customs to the gospel.

OK, please explain then how the Laws of Almighty God found in Exodus 20 are "Jewish customs".
