Personally, I'm peachy with "pet" names in a committed relationship regardless of public/private setting as long as the name is in good taste, i.e. "BananaPie my love." LOL.

Due to the nature of my faith and upbringing, speaking (even thinking) the name "Lord" has been part of my daily life, and yes, in error, I once called a brother "lord." His name is Lloyd, and of course, the teasing never stopped. LOL.

In private, I wouldn't be embarrassed to address my husband as "my lord," but I don't believe the brethren, in general, would want to have such pet name due to the direct association with our Lord Jesus. What say you? :D

As far as pet names go, You should hear what our buddies call us in public, therefore an affectionate pet name in public should bother a guy none as well. :cool:

Oh, and Jullianna, I've never called a man anything besides hun, babe and those kinds of endearments.
I would probably call a man teddy bear in private or refer to him as my teddy bear. I'd never call a man lord or master because there is only one Lord in my life. Being as I'm old fashioned and believe where the Bible says a man is the head of his household.
