Hey man, He wasn't arrogant, that's my point. As far as assumption, it's not assumption if 95 out of 100 people are what he says. He not trying to contend ,just speaking what the scriptures say. I suppose that now I am haughty ,proud, and condescending ,right. That's how it mostly goes here.

He is clearly seems arrogant to me...but im willing to give him a chance to show that he is not just another professor of what others should do.....If I preach a biblical standard to you...I should be willing to prove I keep that biblical standard.

I assume it simply because I see no here a spiritual wisdom, and wrong values causes that t you; loving of the world, loving of money, loving to do "good" just that other people's see, and all kind of that.

If you truly were doing what is right, then it should be come out in discussions, in wise words, in noble act's.

But like I have say, that this all is missing here, so obviously, many things are wrong, in the way which you, today's christians have choose.

How I live ought to come out in discussions, wise words, and acts? And because of whatever you see in my discussions, words and acts, you can tell I love the world, love money, and have wrong values? Really really?

So, here are my next questions:
1. How has God gifted you to watch my acts? After all, we're both on the Internet talking to each other and obviously live no where remotely close to each other to see any acts -- right or wrong. So, how did God give you the gift of remote-sight?

2. I love the world? I'm repressing a good belly laugh over this one. I'm disabled! I go out into "the world" once a week to go grocery shopping! Big extra outing this week. Woohoo! We went out yesterday to get a new cushion made for my recliner, because it's the only chair that saves my bad back and it broke. It has a lifetime guarantee, so for the cost of labor, as long as I got all the parts replaced, they'd fix it for me -- except for the cushion. We went to Fabric Row to have a guy make a new cushion, so I won't spend the rest of my life sitting on the springs. I'm such a heathen for that lascivious lifestyle, ain't I? lol

3. I love money? Well, I don't hate it. I don't have much of it either, but that's fine. God's taking care of us. But you should know this since God has gifted you with remote-sight, which means he's added something to his word specifically for you and you alone. Whoa! Impressive.

Well, it would be, if you weren't so full of yourself that you actually think you know better and so much more than every other Christian.

And this is why you're on ignore. I forget sometimes, so check people out that I've ignored, just to make sure I wasn't having some minor hissy-fit when I chose to ignore them. Nope, in your case, it wasn't a hissy-fit. It's that you have your own self-righteousness so can't help anyone else. You're in a useless spot -- thinking you have something to give, when your cup is empty.

can we please get over ourselves? we know how to forgive one another, for sure! so let's look over offenses.

we can't always give money, and money isn't always what's needed.

when someone asks you for help and says they want it to buy some food, if you are apprehensive that they are trying to scam you so they can buy alcohol or drugs, or that they are actually collecting money as part of some "panhandling ring" have you ever considered actually buying them some food, instead of giving out $$?

i think that talking to people in need and finding out exactly what you can do to help them, and then doing that as you can, instead of just tossing money at the problem, is closer to 'hearing the cry of the poor' than just writing a check to a charity organization.

wherever you live, there are homeless people and poor people and people who need help but don't know how to help themselves in your town. shouldn't we be helping our neighbors before sending our money away to halfway across the world or who-knows-where ?

You see if I see exhortation like this in Op by someone else, I may joy for it, because it do not strike me, but inside I can join in exhortations like this.

But why every one seems wan't to just tell me how to do my work, instead that, them self try to do it?

I see that you wan't please the people's in this forum by you writing, more that exhort to do good, but by that you do not actually do work to God, but just use your time with a group of people's.

What if, it is you who have gone too close to the deeds of the man, that you can not hear the voice of God?

How could you tell from that distance you have? That is the problem! You're so far away from God you look at others as if they're all ants, and you high above them. Wrong view all around, so you're the one too far away from God to judge others. And that's how I can tell -- you consistently judge wrong. Not minorly wrong but 180 degrees from right!

I don't see anyone assuming no one else gives to the poor! Are you picking a fight, or guilty? It is a good exhortation. One really needed in today's self serving social religion. I don't think there is a righteous mammon, we are to use the worlds money to do good with, which will be counted as spiritual goodness in heaven. What is wrong with exhortation . will it always be called condemnation or pointing the finger, or self righteousness here. That's why people can't have a good discussion most of the time. I think there is some scripture about stopping your ears at the lord rebuke and its not good

If this had anything to do with helping the poor, why not go with the discussion just had on how to help the poor, instead o pointing fingers at everyone else for not? The finger pointing was on the OP. Personally, I found no purpose in proclaiming "I help the poor, I help the poor" because this dude is already under the assumption "today's Christians" aren't Christians. So, I turned the tables around and asked did he? Instead of a straight answer, I was given more condemnation and for stuff I don't do!

This is what this dude does -- condemns. He doesn't even wait to condemn any particular person after something they said, he goes so far as to condemn specific people on this board in threads that person doesn't even necessarily see.

I don't put up with holier-than-thous, and yet I was checking to see if this dude maybe wasn't. He is! This wasn't exhortation, it was condemnation. I've got nothing that he can see to be condemned for. No guilt on my part. Anger, for daring to assume all others are condemnable.

But, hey, thanks for reminding me what mammon was. I'm just used to calling it money. lol

A loaf of french bread costs $1.50 at wal-mart, a bag of fruit is cheap, and water is plentiful. We all have an extra blanket or 2 and spare clothing. Homeless people will not refuse these things, and not all homeless people are drug and alcohol addicted people. Some have had a pretty bad hand dealt to them. Some without family and friends to pick them up. Some with no opportunity. Some cast out by heartless people. Perhaps we may want to visit them privately and share some food or blankets with them? You can find them in parks, under freeway overpasses, and walking the streets.

Matthew 6:1-4

Then you are looking through the wrong eyes. You only see what you want to see to make yourself seem righteous. what makes you so righteous and so condemning towards others exactly? I have not seen any righteousness nor Godly wisdom from you just self righteousness arrogance judgmental and hypocritical accusations. Jesus said you would know ppl by their fruit and you may not realize it or care but your fruit is as clear as day. you are the blind leading the blind the false teachers and preachers that was prophesied to come the lovers of ones self I can keep going but I think I made my point.

You speak of God yet you don't know him, you preach of goodness and holiness but you know nothing of such things and are deceived by satan just as the pharisee's were.

Anybody can get on a forum a find scripture to post from the law or even the New testament and act as if others are not yielding to the truth as they should...In most cases on these forums its done only to try to bring guilt to those God is trying to teach to walk in the Spirit, free from guilt...In most cases its a work of satan (the accuser) not the Holy Spirit (the comforter) ..

When your heart gives to the poor in love.
You dont start a thread about it boasting and making us all feel like we do nothing.
To the OP...you do not know what we do.

Far as the cries of the poor...yes they surely do.
But I have heard many cries as well from panhandlers....whose cries can win an academy award...all the way to the liquor store with our compassions.

I always give....if I possibly can...
But the attitude of the OP
Leaves bitter taste in our mouths.

If he judges me for not donating when he hasnt a clue.

i cant really afford to read much of long threads, but as in some other posts i think problem is aggravated due to language barriers. mikko isnt a native engl.speaker, as a no.of other members here are, n i often cant reply anymore when a thread moves too fast evn when an idea strugles to be expressed, n the time constraints. for one is he familiar wd words like smart aleck..many (americans) perhaps assume we undrstsnd n process things the same level n speed..no offense.
