Why Are So Many Christians Still Single?

Let's look at Solomon as one example here. He disobeyed God's word in Deutronomy 17:17, which says that the king must not acquire many wives.
As far as the others (and also Solomon), there are many scriptures in the OT that warn not to intermarry with the nations of the land. If they had married as God intends, things would have been different.
Disobedience to God, not marriage, is what separated them from the love of God!
Or how about him marrying foreign wives who brought in their own gods. Same as Ahab and Jazabel. ANd many other Israel kings.
I was tuaght that you shall not covet, envy is a deadly sin, and desiring what's unattainable will only turn you into a sour grape, a torture you brought unto yourself. Go for your own marriage if you adore it so much, have a nice day.
They disobeyed God. The disobedience turned them away. God said that marrying into heathen nations would do that. Godly marriage does not turn people away from God. If anything, it should bring two people even closer to God...if they do it right.
I don't see how there could be a godly marriage when you don't know whether your partner is godly, you're not even sure whether yourself is truly godly, and you date in an ungodly way by following your own lustful desires. Yes marriage can be godly when the couple is equally yoked in Christ, but there's rare exception not the rule. Just because you put a "godly" label on something doesn't make it truly godly.
Who says I've followed lustful desires whilst dating?
Or anyone else here. One would have to go around on all our dates and be privy to all our relationships to know this.
Nowhere in the Bible is marriage or the desire for marriage called sinful or covetous.
And of course it's possible to desire something in general without being envious.
I think maybe you've already turned into that sour grape. Just think of all the fun things you could be doing other than berating other christian singles for having a more positive and hopeful outlook than you do.
