Hey there everyone.
Why are you single? Is it by choice? Are you waiting for God to lead you to your mate? Or is it just life the way it is for now?

Also, do you believe a mate is perdistined by God or dose God just equip us with what need to we need to pick the right person?

This is a very popular topic on this site with many threads. I believe that God equips us for what we need to pick the right person to be our spouse. For this to happen you have to do what is required using what God has provided and prepare to act when the opportunity arises. You just never know who you're going to meet at any given time.

Regarding the question of why, some perceive marriage to be a hassle, others have a fear of rejection or commitment, others think that it's hopeless to have someone in their life that loves them for who they are and others are just simply content with the status quo.

I do not believe there is one person only for us. No soulmates. I think there are many people that can be good for us. The real issue is if we are ready. If not then we miss those people during times we aren't prepared.
Also marriage is never a promise to all.

I've wanted to get married since I was a kid. 41 and still not married. But I have high hopes lately.
 
I'm single because, my Christian wife, decided to listen to the lies of satan. She refused any attempt at reconciliation, and took my kids 3/4 across the country, to marry a mormon cult member, a few weeks after the judge signed off on our divorce.
I have doubts women can be trusted.
Time to take the red pill.
 
Sorry to hear that she took your kids, but good riddance to her. I hope you get your kids back and learn to trust again, there's good, loyal Christian women out there who won't be moved from faith in Christ and have that moral backbone that's needed to make marriage work.
 
That's good, just keep living for Christ and don't worry about what you don't really need that much.
 
I've got too many personality and personal problems to want to burden a partner with:

I don't trust people. Any people. Ever.
I don't like being physically or emotionally close to anyone. At all.
I've never felt attraction to anyone. Ever. I know I'm not gay, but something is whack.
I like being alone. Other people just grate on me after a few minutes.
I dislike children. I don't want children.
The idea of "family" is pretty meaningless to me. I don't like my own, and I won't like yours.
A partner would have to be more interesting than anything else I have in my life. Haven't seen it yet.
I've been married, cuckolded, and divorced twice already. No need to try for a third time.
 
I'm single because God rescued me from an adulterous relationship and took steps to intervene in my life ....Praise God
 
Because I don't see marriage as a goal that I need to attain in order to consider my life complete and fulfilled. I'm happy as I am.

If I get married, I will probably be happy with that too.
 
My standards are too high and I just haven't found the right girl yet. Plain and simple. But I'm in no hurry, all on God's time anyway.
 
Pardon me, Wild, but did u just called urself christian in view of ur quotings "dont put all ur hopes in the future" - isnt the hope of future what we live for? Heaven - the freedom of reality of sin? Or u just dont eagerly wait for the Second Coming and prefer the trials and difficulties in this life..Or may be is the sin that u love and dont want to give it away.. Living for the moment and not giving a thought for later - take the drug now and enjoy the hour. Oh boy, what a stupidity to prefer a passing world.

No, Im speaking about what Jesus said about not worrying about the future. Not speaking about future as in afterlife, earthly future....dont put hope in earthly future. Worry about today, tommorow will take care of itself.
 
Because I am waiting to meet the person who wants to change the world with me, and to spend more time putting love outwards as a team, than to each other. I've had enough of that in my life, and some people look to find that special person so they can get married and start a family. Although yes that would be nice, I would still put my spiritual standards above it. I would rather be a part of change in the world, than find security in it. Finding security is 2nd best to our true purpose which only rarely is not ignored, or doubted. People give up on their childhood dreams far too soon, and yes maybe I am a dreamer, but I would not be me if I gave up being a dreamer. This is probably why I have more admirers now than when I thought love and security was the answer!
 
That's pretty smart, it's good that you're not out in fantasy land like most teens are.
Keep walking in the spirit and keep giving your mind to Christ.
