I made pizza for dinner tonight. Havarti and Mozzarella cheese, halved grape tomatoes, thickly sliced fresh mushrooms,
a bit of shredded roasted chicken, and slivers of red, yellow, and green pepper... plus herbs, and blueberries! :giggle:
Yum! 🩷

Am going to Hell to get my pizzas.
I can choose one topping for each pizza, I am um and ahing over mushroom, or garlic, or pepperoni.
Pineapple, I can just open a can and add it at home.

Here is another twist, a hand tossed Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza. Yum!!

Hey Everyone,

Well, we'll see how this goes. My genius (perhaps slightly dyslexic) brain originally typed out, "Why is Pizza on Pineapple SO Controversial?"

Yeah, the thinking cap is a little backwards this morning.

We all know the infamous controversy about pineapple as a topping on pizza:

th

BUT, I've always wondered exactly WHY it's so reviled. Is it because:

* Pineapple is a fruit, and fruit should never be on pizza.

* Pineapple is sweet, and sweet shouldn't be mixed with a savory food.

But if this is true, what about things like sweet and sour? Why does one combination work and not the other?

* Is there something just inherently evil about pineapples? Is pineapple somehow a fruit of the devil?

* And (the reason I'm posting this in the Family sections.) if/when your family members disagree on toppings, how many different pizzas do you have to order so everyone is happy?

I have some family members who like a few "unconventional" pizza styles, such as yes, the infamous pineapple, along with BBQ chicken (my least favorite of the ones they've tried,) all-vegetable, and "white" pizza, usually involving spinach and sometimes artichokes. Sometimes when I go to visit, that might be all they've fixed or ordered, so I've learned to not be very picky-- or chances are, I won't get fed. (And don't we ALL show up when a free meal is involved?!)

Whether you think pineapple on pizza should be beloved or bemoaned, it's time to square off!! 🥊

Leave your thoughts, comments, and reasons as to why YOUR opinion is RIGHT (because that's what we do here on the forum ,) and tell us why the opposing side is COMPLETELY WRONG (obviously!)
controversial? nah nuclear war is a bit more controversial and important topic ...maybe pizza isn't top of the list at the mo soz hunny x

Thanks for the tip.

Are you going to be starting a thread on nuclear war soon? Let us know, so we can follow it.

If you're looking for dead-serious topics, you'll like places like the Bible Discussion, Conspiracies, and News sections of the forum.

Just to give you some context -- I tend to write a lot of threads on this site (since 2009,) and I designed the "Let's Have a Controversial Conversation About" series of threads for those who just wanted a bit of lighthearted banter.

There are many regulars who have been here for many years, and we enjoy reading each other's answers in these threads. These discussions are for the tired parents who just need a bit of fun in their day after juggling a household, weary caretakers who are stressed to the max, hard workers dealing with impossible bosses who just want to be part of a silly conversation for a minute, etc.

And calling these topics "Controversial" is part of the joke. You'll find plenty of threads about world issues on the forum, but these threads meant to be a parody.

Because the tired mother/father who's wrangled with her special needs child all morning might want to read a thread about something other than one about nuclear war and oblivion.

These threads are simply meant to give people other options, if they so choose.

And I write them here in Family to make them available to whoever wants to participate.

I used to post mostly in Singles, but a married friend actually suggested that I post them in Family so the marrieds wouldn't feel out of place when answering. The Miscellaneous section tends to lean more towards politics, which I didn't want to disturb, so the Family forum seems to work out well.

Welcome to CC, and I'll be looking for all your threads about real, actual controversial topics. :)

Conspiracy forum is where you need to go.

Demolishing the twin towers so you can rebuild it with your own tower block and pretending some other country did it is one of the things we discuss.
Hijacking a plane with box cutters and directing it to fly into buildings...I mean wth. Who does that. No sane people that we know. Follow the money...
Many people don't discuss Hiroshima because, well, most everyone died in that explosion.

Huh I thought maybe nuking pizzas in the microwave was controversial
I mean frozen pizza is to me an abomination. Who eats frozen pizza, seriously?
I'd rather have a fresh hot handmade pizza than one that's frozen and maybe a few months or even a year old. Ew.

*Seoulsearch debates over whether this is a safe place to confess that she loves frozen pizza!*

I don't have the time to make it, and I won't pay the takeout prices.

Though lately, my version of "pizza" is low-carb tortillas with pizza sauce, veggies, pepperoni and cheese -- in an effort to cut down the calories.

The main reason is because pineapple and ham are awesome on pizza

I don't like nuked pizzas, but I like to cook a Red Baron frozen pan pizza in my toaster oven. Quick and easy, and very good.

I had pizza today! Three slices

One was pepperoni
One was vege with capsicums and pineapple
One was mushroom

Yea we had a big pizza lunch, think there were at least 7 different pizzas you could choose from, including gluten free, mince, hawaiian and plain cheese

It was Pizza Hut pizza, so was delivered.

I think there was a bacon pizza too.
There were olives on my vege pizza

As for pineapple, not controversial in any way, goes with veges and goes with ham.
The only controversial is not the topping but the base. The gluten free one was special and reserved for those special people who can't eat dough.

I love hawaiian pizza.

I had Pepperoni pizza from Hell.

I haven't heard of lifesaving pizza, but in an emergency, I can call my local pizzeria and they'll deliver within 15 minutes.
Its cheaper to pick-up though, but If I'm home and don't happen to be passing thru, thats what I do through the app.

No pizza drive-thru/drive bys for me. No frozen boxed pizza either. If I'm desperate for hot food at home - instant noodles. cheese toasted sandwich or mousetrap.

Also I don't think I could actually fit a frozen pizza in my fridge freezer the tray is taken up with ice or icecreams and fish fingers.
