Mattithyah 5:19, "Whosoever, therefore, will break one of the least of these Laws, and will teach men so, he will be called the least in the Kingdom of Yahweh; but whosoever will do and teach them, the same will be called great in the Kingdom of Yahweh."

Who here is teaching to sin or not sin. I see we are teaching to trust the Living God for God's love to permeate through us the believers and you?

Its like saying God whacks both jesus and the believer. Then whats the purpose jesus came then?

Actually
While we were yet sinners Christ died for us in our stead, Mercy has been given and we have a choice left to either believe God in this unfathomable Mercy that no flesh can or does comprehend
This is why the war is Flesh and blood fights The Spirit of God's Mercy, and makes a mockery of God's saving grace that none of us deserve ever, before belief and or after
God did not cause any of the confusion, the tree of evil did after they ate from it.
god through Son has restored, reconciled us through son
That is the message: we are reconciled through the death of Son
Colossians 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

OP, good on you for "capping the bottle". The difference between you wilfully sinning, and you making the sacrifice of dealing with having no sip.
That verse doesn't just focus on Jesus's sacrifice, it focuses on the sacrifices He taught us to make in order to "not wilfully sin"

Like capping the bottle.
Genuinely excusing a debt when you need that money from them.
Keeping the fast food bag in the car until we get home instead of throwing it out the window.
Spending time with a sick or elderly person instead of assuming someone else will.
Not buying a new cell phone with child support money.

Refraining from transgression often requires some sort of self sacrifice.
For the addict, it's enduring withdrawal and temptation to make it to and stay on the other side.

Nice insight.

For clarity:

The bible shows that drinking is not a sin but it does clearly show that getting drunk is a sin.

Drinkers fall under two categories:

1. Those who can drink

2. Those who can’t drink.

I have NEVER seen a person who falls under the second category (who can’t drink) stop after they take just one sip let alone one drink: they always continue until they get drunk.

A person who falls under the first category (who can drink) can easily stop after they take a drink. They can drink and stop long before they get drunk.

So for those who know they fall under the second category then it’s a willful sin for them to take a drink because they know that if they take just one sip they are guaranteed to get drunk (sin).

But for those who fall under the second category then it’s not a willful sin for them to take a drink because they know they can easily stop long before they get drunk.

So from what I can glean from the OP he falls under the second category because he knew beforehand that he could stop drinking long before getting drunk, which is exactly what he did therefore he did not willfully sin.

Just going to touch on grace.

OT grace is defined as "when one who is Superior, bends his knee in kindness to one inferior. Do a word study on grace connected to Noah.

NT grace is the "divine influence" (Holy Spirit, new nature, new *heart*) upon the heart, with it's reflection in the life, including gratitude.

One is "outside" extended to us. The other is within us.

So it is truth that a born again believer cannot be lawless since it is written within by a change through God.

How about...once sealed, always sealed...can this be?

Thinking that you will never sin again is ridiculous.
There is no such thing as being "saved" until the day that you die - and THEN God decides whether you are worthy of going to Heaven or not.
The "Once Saved, Always Saved" doctrine is blasphemous. People who believe in the OSAS doctrine are performing blasphemy because THEY believe that regardless of what they do, they WILL be going to Heaven and God's opinion does NOT even matter.
It depends on where you get the OSAS doctrine from. The Bible speaks of OSAS as God's sovereignty. Man turned it into something that fits his agenda.

It is possible to commit a momentary temptation to sin. It is not possible for a believer to live a life of sin without his/her conscience convicting.

That would lead to death if so. I would think few lead this kind of life which leads to a seared conscience.

Holy Spirit leads us to Holiness which is not always instantaneous in the life.

Ooops... Made a mistake.... What I meant to say " from what I can glean from the OP he falls under the FIRST category because he knew beforehand that he could stop drinking long before getting drunk, which is exactly what he did therefore he did not willfully sin."

I like what God Almighty did to Saul/Paul

I like when i read how Saul himself had a reprobate mind ,and God used him as a example for many out there. It is very interesting how God used a vessel for dishonor and turn it into a vessel to honor Acts 9:15, after all He is the potter.

When The Lord Change Saul to Paul ,and made him a new Creation , it shows the mercy God has for not only Paul but all of us.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

God Bless

If someone did not get what i was trying to explain , I break it down simple . There is no contadictions in The Bible the Word of God.

God gives us perfect details how to serve him , we can choose if we will pick up our cross and follow him or not. King Saul , Judas , Nadab and Abihu decided to serve themselves and not God.

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

As Joshua said long ago...

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

and also in a psalms of David Psalms 25 beautiful teaching in psalms

8Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
י
9The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
כ
10All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
ל
11For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
מ
12What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

Either one fears God or not. What is the Fear of the Lord, search proverbs there you will find it.

Theres no excuse for the unbeliver or sinner as Romans 1:32 explains in detail.

But you that are in Christ are free from sin are you not a servent to rightousness ???

Romans 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

So hold on to the faith and keep following Christ and telling others the Good news, that way you shall recive your reward from the master.

Matthew 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Always remind yourself this scripture

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

God bless

I know of no sin that is not willful, after one has been made aware of sin, what it is.
Anything without Faith being led by God is sin
Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Anything sealed by God can't be broken
Ephesians 1:13 in whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Sorry i haven't read all the posts here but has anyone proposed the Calvinist argument:
-Unconditional election
-Limited atonement
-Preservation of the saints

When Jesus died on the cross He atoned for the sins of the elect (those whom God chose to receive grace).
Those whom God chose would fit the "Once saved, Always saved" category but of course, not all who claim to be saved are of the elect.

I know for many christians the idea that if you are not continually repentant then you may not be saved makes christianity seem like a "works" religion. Where the "good works" are the acts of believing and repenting rather than receiving salvation freely without merit.

Oh well, the Free-will vs Predestination debate has been going on for hundreds of years.
Its like the chicken and the Egg...

Did i lose my salvation? or was I never saved to begin with?

Oh Brother, God actually chose all to be saved, yet not all will why?
God went to the cross through Son and took upon himself through Son the sins of the whole world why?
So Father through this final cleansing through Son can give us new life in the Spirit of Father.
That is what Adam and Eve never got, they got life in the flesh but not in the Spirit. That is what happened and that spread to all man.
So God through Son came to reconcile us to him through Son and Son alone.
John 19:30
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Colossians 1:22 in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Hebrews 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
[h=3]Hebrews 7:11-12[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]11 [/SUP]If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
Hebrews 8:13
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Hebrews 12:24 and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

Yes much mockery, as in trying to stay in fellowship by not sinning which is what is producing sin or if not it produces pride and a better than others attitude.
The cross is final, as in the death was and is the last sacrifice and shedding of blood for forgiveness period it is finished, done.
now for us to be complete we first need to finalize that by God and through Christ we are forgiven Why?
So we can pass from the death to life. We are born in to life in the resurrected Christ, justified in the Spirit, and thus walk in love as Christ did, done by the operation of God.
Hope this helps in the hypocrisy you obviously see as I do to. Anyway God bless Brother for God does just love you this much
[h=3]John 3:16[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]16 [/SUP]For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

So all that is left is either one believes God or they do not, and thus are either set free or are not. Bottom line it is between God and you, not man
