Christians will talk try so hard to get you saved, but as soon as you say you think you are saved or look for God, they don't care anymore. Why? Why should I love God if people go away once a person says they're saved? Sorry for the bad analogy but it feels like a one night stand. Like I am going to try to get you saved because I love you and don't want you to go to hell but once you are saved you're on your own. You have God anyways so you're good. Why would someone want to be saved?

Hi umzza, good to see you again, hugs. You know it isn't intentional, you know? Folks get busy, jobs, family, and what not. It isn't personal, often it just comes down to logistics. Folks have only so much time and energy in a day. So while maybe there is merit in the fact we can all do better in this area, we have to remember...

It is Christ we are trying to point you towards. His love is perfect, and so much more reliable than the care you can get from humans. While human fellowship is a gift from God, our true fueling, our replenishing, our identity, joy and peace can and should come from Him.

On our best days, we need Him. It is Him we put our hope into. Even in the best selfless connections people are limited because we are only humans. So I will continue to pray for you, hoping you find peace and some healthy Christian friendships.

Umzzz, how was your day? Big hugs!!!

If you think through your response you'll realize you didn't actually answer her, though you may have believed you had.
The question was, essentially, 'why do people invest so much time, energy and effort into you getting saved' (meaning even if they're busy, they take the time) 'but once saved they disregard you?'.
The notion that people simply 'get busy' isn't a valid one, or perhaps is only partially valid. That, to me, sounds as an answer that seeks to clear the Christians of wrongdoing, but not offer any real truth on the question at hand. The idea that every person investing so much into seeing someone get saved, and they all, suddenly, get busy afterwards is not valid. And this is the key point being asked on.

To me a more legitimate answer is that the OP has somewhat answered it herself, without realizing. That once you 'have God' everything is ok now. And since any sort of discipleship training through churches is less and less common people don't know to continue teaching a newly saved convert.
Not to mention the notion of 'getting someone saved' is more egocentrically rewarding, thus making the 'chase' far more enticing than teaching. We see this on CC at times, people wanting to know how to get X person saved. It's a natural reaction, but what is 'natural' doesn't mean right. Even when i was younger we were taught not to focus on how many people we can 'get saved' but on being a witness and spreading the gospel. Which was 99% planting or watering seeds, and 1% harvesting.

So that it is a matter of 'business' every single time is simply flawed from the beginning, because some such people were equally a busy during 'the chase' to see someone saved.
