Scripture tells us that if we first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness that all good things will be added to us. Sometimes I think if we allow this search to dominate our thoughts, in some ways it can become a hinderence and maybe even an "idol" if we are not careful.

You are right
Considering my young age I don't have alot of life experience compared to many others, I keep having to be reminded to depend n God not just for a mate but for all things. If you read the first 5 books of the bible you will see how not depending on god gets you into trouble.

Personally due to my circumstances I think I'll be waiting for awhile, so I hope this is my testimony.. 20 And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her. Genesis 29:20 (KJV)

Thank God that I'm not the only one who wondering why I'm still single.

why so hard to find the right one for me? i know God has a plan for me and i believe its worth awaited..
I have often wondered about this. I came to the conclusion that God does not want me to be married & have a family. At 45, I found myself believing that and am trying to come to accept this. Although I don't know what God's plan for me is, I try to live a simple life and be friendly to almost everyone.
I guess that is why I spend so much time on the computer/internet. This way I don't have to deal with the heartache of being decieved in any way, shape or form.

Besides: I have my 2 kittys, Willow and Alder to keep me company. They don't know anything about hurting someone the way people do. All they know is that I love them and they love me back.

Sometimes I really wonder, where are all the guys???
I guess you'll have to be ready also.
Finally its always works in God's own right time.

Thanks for posting this, i am in the same boat with you. but you know most of my friend have their own and i am under pressure but i know God as a plan and God's timing and will is the best so keep waiting.DO NOT RUSH.

I think the problem in finding the right one is that sometimes, as NazariteNation pointed out, we "allow this search to dominate our thoughts," which (in my opinion) will become an hindrance in both our relationship with God and actually finding the right one.

I also think that it is not a matter of finding the right one, but of making yourself ready and available for the right one. When the time is right, the right one (who, too, was spending time making himself/herself ready and available for the right one) will show up and it will take place.

its hard to find the right one bc we are looking.
if we just let go and let god intervene then he will bring you and your partner together
when the timing is perfect, remember god is never early and never late.

yes, you will get impatient but the best thing to do is just pray for your future partner
and trust that the lord will bring you two together at the perfect time... and he will.

yeaaaa it sure is hard sometimes. when you feel that the person is in your life already, but you dont know when to go out is the hardest part. its like you just want the ok from God. but impatience in relationships is like the one way that satan can really still get to christians. keep that in mind!!! everybody have a superly amazingggggggg dayYyyy!! :)

Thanks become!

To Emt-nc- i say-- well don't be shy! Step forward and give us your name and number!! ;)

All these christian singles, who love the Lord and want to get married... maybe we should just start matching up. Assign numbers and do a random match. lol Wouldn't it be great if life was actually that simple?

haha i agree with you kyra life would be amazing if it was that simple! But reality is its not! I know that waiting on the face of the Lord will eventually lead my heart to the one he has planned out for me. So im going to continue seeking the lord at this point and see what happens! Who know he might come back before i have enough time to even wonder who i am going to be in a relationship with hahahaha :)

I honestly don't know. I agree with Ronsinsky and Naseritenation that if you focus on the search it can distract you. I got caught up in the search. It really did distract me from what Jesus was doing with me. My eye's drifted from the Promise Keeper to the promise. Thankfully He has tought me patiance over the years. I think it has brought me closer to Him. He has given me a peace and contentment about my situation, though. That being said, im still looking for a mate. It is just not my top priority. As it is written, But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. God is our provider, He is the one who clothes us, feeds us, covers us, and protects us. If one thing my experience has taught me is to focus on Him and He will take care of the rest.

There ya have it.

Have standards that are reasonable, standards that you also hold yourself accountable to. Pray for your future mate. After that, I pretty much think the rest is in God's hands.

Oh, one other thing: we can't expect our mate to show up on the doorstep like a pizza delivery person. My observation is that God rarely works that way. Not suggesting that you were thinking that; more reminding everyone(myself included) that this isn't the likely method of finding our spouse.
well, actually i was thinking Fed ex, lol. hahaha!! you know im really kidding,

hey i like that shoey, amen and God bless you. i agree to seek first the kingdome, and be about His business.

Another thought:

God created eve just for adam and vice versa.
where in the bible does it say to go out and date?
god didnt make adam, joe, jack, eve, sarah, and kim for
us to date and see which one we like most.

god knows the time that you and your partner will see each other
and fall in love. he already has that planned out and written.
we just have to trust and rely in god and pray for our future husband/wife.

im reading a book called "God is your Matchmaker" and it talks about all of
this stuff. you should check it out if interested.

Hi... I was in the same position as you. I knew in my heart God had a good plan for my life and I wanted to marry someone who loved God, one that was spiritually-compatible. And you know, I have found her... and married her nearly 5 years ago. She is an amazing woman, but more than, we have an AMAZING God who ordered my steps to her. The reason why I say all that, is because the Lord placed on my heart (and my wife's) to write a book, to help those who are looking for God's BEST in a marital partner. So we did, praise God! We explain our times loneliness, struggles, wondering 'when?' and 'if'.. and most importently, 'how'. And the Lord showed us Biblical principles in meeting that special person. We share our story, because God told us to. We have already had wonderful feedback. I believe this book will help. Its a really easy read (quite a small book), called 'Matchmade in Heaven- How to find your God Given partner. Its available on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. We have one review on the UK site if you want to have a look. Here's a direct link:

If you do read it, we'd love your feedback!

May you find the one you are looking for. Trust me, you'll be so blessed!

Sometimes it is best to be single. Right now I know i probably won't be finding the right one for me for a really long time.
But I am looking at it as a gift from God and a time where I can grow closer to him and he can guide me in who i will marry one day. I do struggle with it sometimes still. Wondering why I am still single. But God gets be through it.
