What is intended by the term "Sabbath keeper?´" If it means beliving the Seventh day of creation is the day God chose to give us as a gift to rest, then I suppose I am a Sabbath keeper. But aren't those who believe the Sabbath is on the sixth day the same as I, only having selected their own day according to an emperor, Constantine, I believe?

Or are you sall saying the Sabbath is to be thrown away? Personally, in honor of our Maker, I am going to keep being grateful for the gift of the Seventh day. It is a shadow of what is to come, yes, it is.

It's your liberality to hold that view. However, if you believe it's required for salvation and consider other Christians to be in sin because they aren't Sabbathkeepers, that's a serious issue. Or, if your message is lawkeeping rather than salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Those were my issues as a former Sabbathkeeper.

Breaking a law is not going to destroy my salvation, for God's grace is fresh every morning, but I would not break a law on purpose, and no one I know who believes in being children of obedience feels any differently. So what is all the discussion and cross accusations going on in the threads on the subject? I would never teach agains obeying any law. Jesus says not to do this. Agian, so what is the question ? The law is good when used lawfully, and this is according to the teaching of Jesus Christ, but this is not going to ever be understtod by any who resist the Holy Spirit's dirction.

This hatred almost has to be demons working in the organized church to dishonor Christ. I was just reading a post claiming that Sabbath Keepers, and those who work to obey Christ as Christ told us to do ("If you love me") are denying Christ. If the forces working against Christ can get people to believe we should not obey Him or spend a day honoring Him, but only use the blood of Christ for our salvation, it would eventually mean we would deny Christ altogether. It would be a great victory for Satan.

We have many threads speaking for the Lord about keeping Sabbath. God is working, I hope many will respond who believe in Christ. The Lord will win against Satan. We are in the last days, we all must fight for Christ.

no one I know hates the Sabbath day. but observance of the Sabbath day was not taught by Jesus. that is significant to me. He listed all the other moral commandments and ignored the one concerning the Sabbath. Was that in error or though carelessness? No it was because He had brought the Sabbath rest TO MEN as an every day experience (Matt 11.28-30).

And this is confirmed in Hebrews 4 and by the fact that the Sabbath is never enjoined anywhere in the New Testament. That would be odd if its observance was seen as so important.

It was a proclamation of the new Gospel in a society where Jews were recognised by their observance of the Sabbath. Yes..all the commandments that apply to them..which don't include the Old Covenant made to ancient Israel. The Sabbath is a sign under that covenant and no longer applies.

Jesus Christ teaches us what you are saying here. The laws are to be observed lawfully. If you want a hint, they all hang on the laws of love. The ones that do not count simply fall off in the life of one who no longer has the veil of Moses.... but Jesus teaches much more on using the law lawfully. Many seem to fall short of learning this from Him.

When this is the case, it is wrong. I do not believe people who stress God's laws are actually doinng this. I believe there is a lot of activity of the enemy here.

All who believe know God is not a joker, so when He says something is the correct way, it is not a suggestion, especially when we study the law. We do indeed eliminate the majority of the laws because they deal with sacrifice, and there is no sacrifice since Jesus Christ or offereing other than the offering of thanksgiving. If we know the teachings of the Master, we know all foods are made clean when received with thanksgiving. We are the living stones of the Temple with Christ as the head and teh cornerstone, so temple laws are no possible to follow, made so by Jesus Christ. Tithing and geological laws pertaining to living in Israel ae no longer feasible because there is no theocracy calle Israel in this age, no longer anyway. This does not say we do not support our assemblies. Jesus teaches us that if a law contans NO mercy orgrace, it is one of those bad laws mentioned in the OT. In short, too many are dismissing the writings of the lion's share of the Word because they fall under the title Old Testament, which it does contain, but most of those writings are about Jesus Christ, and when the veil is removed by faith in Him theOld Testament is full of joy, hope, love and the story of our Lord.

I do not believe th majority of the family here who try to do all of what is commanded by God are attempting to earn anything,, no I believe they act out of gratitude. Frankly, after Jesus Christ my love is the law used lawfully, according to Jesus Christ. Never fear th alaw now, for it is full of wisdom.

Christians are to be obedient to all the commandments that apply to them. The Sabbath is not one of those. It was a sign of the Old Covenant, along with circumcision.

Now why would the day designated by God as a gift to us all be the Old Covenant? The Seventh Day will always be the commemorative day of rest after the six days of God's creating all that is.

Most people today still commemorate it on what they deem to be the Sabbath. We are free of the busy work rabbinical observances , but the order of creation has not been changed one iota. There is nothing wrong with observing the Sabath in the manner one is given by the Holy Spirit. Paul teaches one man may observe one day over another, and if he does this with a good conscience in the sight of God, it is not wrong.

Anyone who thinks the Sabbath is no longer a gift from God may also be acting in good conscience in the sight of God, but no where does it say the Sabbath is the old covenant, nor has the Sabbath been abolished.

I love observing the Seventh Day, but I can go to any assembly of God in Jesus Christ and adore Him wih no problem. If I say Shabbat Shalom on Friday, I intend this for Saturday observers and Sunday observers. I have never insisted my brothren do as I do, but, do as you believe Jesus did.......

AS for circumcision, the Word is clear on this, of the forsking means nothing, but the ehart should be circumcised; we all know this. Again, this is clearly stated in simple words, but there is nothing saying the Ten Commandments are teh foundation of the Old Covenant. There is no sin in observing them. This I know; God said so.

Christians are to be obedient to all the commandments that apply to them. The Sabbath is not one of those. It was a sign of the Old Covenant, along with circumcision.

When God made the seventh day He blessed it and made it holy.

The seventh day is special time to God and we know it is because of the words He uses when He speaks about it. He uses words such as blessed, holy and sanctified. These words give the seventh day value.

The seventh day is special to God and all who love God will value the seventh day too. They will see the seventh day a special day set apart from every other day of the week. If will love God and are filled with His Spirit we will be drawn to the things that God values. Unfortunately, shortly after creation man fell. The things of God began to loose value in the hearts and mind of man. But just because man ceases to value the things of God does not mean the things of God are no longer holy, just and good. The holy, just and good things of God protect the goodness in His creation and protect relationships. Because of this, God protected them with His Law. But the Law is not God's ideal way He wants His creation relating to the holy, just and good things of God. He wants His people to see value in the holy, just and good things of God because they are holy, just and good. He wants His people to love Him enough to obey the holy, just and good things because they protect the goodness of creation and they protect relationships.

The Law brought fear of punishment for anyone who violates the things that protect the goodness in God's creation. This is not how God wants to relate to His people. He does not want to move you with fear of punishment just to make them value the holy, just and good things of God.

Today we are no longer under the Law.

Does this mean that the holy, just and good things of God are no longer valuable?

Does this mean that the holy, just and good things of God no longer protect His creation and relationships?

No way, He is not saying that.

What God is doing is He is removing the fear of punishment in order to move us to value the holy, just and good things of God for only one reason, because they are holy, just and good.

Now carry this over to the seventh day. The seventh day is still and blessed and holy day and was called very good by God when He created it. That has not changed. What has changed is that God is no longer forcing you through fear of the Law to make you value and honor the seventh day.

Therefore don't judge anyone regarding the Sabbath. If they love God they will value and honor the Sabbath because God values and honors the Sabbath. If they don't love God they won't value and honor the Sabbath or anything else of God. To force someone to do so is worthless because God wants His people to love what He loves and value what He values. If you don't then it doesn't matter if you are forced to keep the Sabbath because your heart is not right with God and that's His main concern.

So value the Sabbath, honor the seventh day and enjoy the Sabbath because the strictness of the letter of the Law, which brought legalism and ritualism to the Sabbath, has been lifted. So don't judge anyone in what they do on the Sabbath, but rather, celebrate and enjoy the Sabbath and the sweet fellowship of God's people for the Sabbath day is a holy day to our Lord.

Nehemiah 8:10 Ezra said to them, “Go, eat and drink what you enjoy, and give some to him who has nothing ready. For this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be sad for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

The seventh day makes one stand out. You can keep all the other Commandments and not stick out like a sore thumb and have your neighbors and friends look at you and wonder what you are doing, but f you keep the Sabbath...

Mat 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Mat 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

It is absolutely evident.

The Sabbath always has been, is and ever will be the TEST Commandment...

Exo 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

And notice what Commandment was used to prove them...

Exo 16:25 And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field.
Exo 16:26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.

And of course there were those who would not do what God said...

Exo 16:27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.

And what was God's response?

Exo 16:28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

Same today and it will be the same tomorrow, even into the Millennium and beyond...

Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

Don't you believe that Sunday observers are unsaved and still in their sins? If they are still in their sins, aren't they condemned? That's what Armstrongism teaches. Or, are you phrasing your words in a deceptive way so you don't betray your true beliefs?

Funny, I have never said that and Herbert Armstrong has been dead for over 29 years. You still using that as a crutch?
