Sorry I don't believe in works salvation.
lol.. Yet your discussing this with two men who also do not believe in works salvation.
have we ever got the perfect tense word (saved) figured out yet?
Sorry I don't believe in works salvation.
Abraham wasn't declared righteous in any century because of his works.Your confused only because you trying to justify a cult mentality.
Justified in biblical terms means declared righteous.. Thats what it meant in the 1st century AD..
if you do not like it, That is beside the point.
Where in the bible does it say his FAITH was justified.
I am not going to answer a question of a hypothetical that is not in the bible.

No he did not have faith alone, He proved it by telling the other theif off, and, He went to his death praising God. instead of cursing him proving he had a change of arttitude (repented) and had true faith.
Thats a work.
You guys are tripping out! You say the NIV got it right by saying Abraham was considered righteous by his works and yet out of the other side of your mouth you say you don't believe in works salvation.
James 2:21New International Version (NIV)
21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
Abraham wasn't declared righteous in any century because of his works.
If you call words a work too, ok, I can accept that. But what if he would not be able to speak? Does faith really and in every situation needs to be followed by some work?
And I am not talking about somebody who claims to be christian, but whole his life proves he does not care.
But, well, you said that even claiming is work... it gets complicated, I will leave that.
It doesn't say his faith was justified, it's up to the reader to figure out what Abraham was justified in... right off the bat you can eliminate made righteous because it contradicts the rest of scripture.Where in the bible does it say his FAITH was justified.

The KJV is the only bible that contains the truth and it does not contradict itself. Also there are messages in the structure of the text... number patterns that match with chapter and verse numbers.
A person would have to be spritually blind to not recognize the KJV is inspired, it's that obvious.
Saying a person is "considered righteous" and saying he is "made righteous" are not the same
It seems you have a trouble wiht the english language as well I see..
In the NIV he was but not in the KJV.
Yet he was considered righteous by his works.
See you have a problem..
The only righteousness that exists is the righteousness of Christ. I am made righteous through his works, I am considered righteous by his works.
In the NIV he was but not in the KJV.
So, how did you arrive at your belief that the KJV is the 'only bible that contains the truth'?
Can the same be said for all the other accepted versions of the Bible--that 'a person would have to be spiritually blind to not recognize that [they] are inspired'?
I think not. Not 'spirtually blind' -- but perhaps blinded by personal attachments or emotions.
What was justified about Abraham by his works?Yep
In the KJV he was justified by his works. Same concept..
James is arguing that if you don't have works then you don't have real saving faith. Abraham offering Isaac justified his faith was real. So, If you have no works, are you considered rightious?
Is that not what james was arguing?

It's the only bible I've ever read that doesn't contradict itself.
