Frankly, the Jews had no choice. The prophecy was that the Messiah would be betrayed by His own TRIBE, Judah. Not only was Judah the instigator of His crucifixion, the specific person who turned Him in on lies is Judah.

He was betrayed, according to prophecy, God's will, by His own tribe, Juhah, but not by all of Israel, not that it makes a difference since elswhere it is written Jesus Christ was killed by sinnners, and that inludes each one of humankind.

Satan has worked fervently to use ignorance to divide people attempting to improve their walk with Jesus Christ through study. We must allr ely constantly upon our first instance of salvation when the Holy Spirit convinced us each that Jesus Christ is Lord, amen.

I confess, I love all people, and I want no soul to perish, yet I know some will and by their own words and deed they will judge themselves

Certainly Christians should have no part of hating Jewish people because simply they are Jewish.
Any sort of excuse that they were responsible for crucifying Jesus Christ needs to be called for what it is: utter bullshit!
(excuse the french but I think calling a spade a spade here is justified.)
Every single one of us are as guilty of Jesus going to the cross as if we had been there personally baying for His blood!

Rather, we should be actively engaged in loving Jewish people, as any other, in attempting to graft them back into the vine.
I have known many many Jews in my life and am proud to call them friends, colleagues, and fellow believers.
I have been humbled to bring a number to their Messiah, including one old gentleman on his deathbed.

I agree we shouldn't hate Jews or anybody for that matter. However, Paul did blame the Jews for killing Jesus. I guess you don't believe Paul:

[h=3]Their Conversion[/h]13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe. 14 For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen, just as they did from the Judeans, 15 who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are contrary to all men, 16 forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

Mr 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

These would be the same rituals that were corrupted by Israel? We are to worship the Lord not rituals.

For the cause of Christ

Their Conversion

13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe. 14 For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God which are in Judea in Christ Jesus. This is a complete non sequitur - Paul is not speaking incorrectly but it is not the full truth of the matter. His statement is not the last word about culpability. We are all responsible for Jesus death on the cross purely by virtue of us being sinners.

because of colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you with respect to food or drink, or in the matter of a feast, new moon, or Sabbath days--

Take for instance the Feast of Tabernacles. To observe it would require an annual trip to Jerusalem, and meeting a long list of requirements that wouldn't be practical for most Christians in the world. There wouldn't likely be enough tree branches for everyone to make and dwell in stick huts. The feast calls for sacrifices by fire. That hasn't been done even by Jews during the past two millennia. In it's heyday God rejected their offerings anyway through prophecies due to the spiritual adultery of Israel.

The benefit was to and for Israel in remembrance of how God provided for the Hebrews during the exodus from Egypt, and provides celebration of the future dwelling of men and God, which was available when Jesus entered Jerusalem on the donkey. The spiritual adultery continued on, resulting in the Jews rejecting that longed-for relationship that is now make for us who believe on Jesus our Christ, having the Lord indwelling us by his holy spirit. It isn't necessary to go seek him out in Jerusalem.

No of course not---those who have the Spirit of Christ have HIM and the FATHER dwelling in them and need not go to some other place to find them.
This does not mean we 'do away with God's Holy days but we keep them differently than in the OT. It is the same with the Sabbath (another of GOD's Holy days). People mistakenly/deliberately/rebelliously reject these Holy days instead of just keeping them in the SPIRIT....what does that tell us ?

Who is your post speaking to - anyone in particular ?
The scripture you quote was addressed to the people being 'converted---NOT to those who wanted to keep their old ways...Paul was not defending them but starting a new religion/belief which 'included the feasts and the sabbath. Gentiles never had either so Paul could not have been speaking to them urging them to observe them

A question to ponder.....Who benefits?
It wasn't just the feasts that were removed. A whole lot of other stuff was removed, as well. I don't know why, but it would be a cumbersome load to carry, I think. We Christians have our own disciplines.

what did he mean then????????????????? seems straight forward to me and many others.....................

If I were teaching in an assembly today...I would teach the feasts and their meanings...also the names. Yeshua actually means Saviour, salvation. Every time a Jew calls out save us...they are saying His name.

The world spirit benefits in every way to divorce Judaism from all believers.

I have always shared teh words of the prophet Joel in reference to this you have posted. I also think in these terms about the lost who are seeking in the last days and simply look to Whoever the Maker is and cry, "Help."

The above and what you have cited fulfill the prophecy that it will be in that time whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Oh praise, praise God, amen. (I was not permitted to add to your rep.).

Paul meant what he said....but it depends entirely WHO he said it to....that is the crux of the matter !!!
In case you had not noticed - there were people FOR and people Against the sabbaths and the feasts THEN, just as there are people FOR and AGainst the sabbath and feasts TODAY....and both groups use Col 2v16 pertaining to what they believe. But since they are in 'opposition' somebody is in the wrong.
You might like to clarify if you are FOR the feasts and sabbaths or not....it would help to understand you better !

Well celebrate them if you want. We arnt called to because God became disgusted with them as to they became meaningless acts just as God became disgusted with sacrifices because the jewish people would do these traditions but remain in rebellion to God.

Hi Roughsoul,

Very true, but the disgust was with them, their heart. The obedience part goes to show if it's not done in
faith, it's meaningless.

That could be applied to us as well. We can pray, read His word, sings praises unto Him, but without faith, they are a stench as well.

You have a point there - JUDAISM is NOT what Jesus was teaching - that is why He was persecuted by the Pharisees and Sadducees and eventually killed.
And christians are just as much 'in error today as they were , when they label/persecute followers of Jesus as judaizers. It would benefit them to learn the difference and stop their false accusations !

Jesus was teaching against a religious spirit that concentrates on following laws. Both Jews and Christians can be affected by this spirit.

It's always the heart that has been prepared by the Lord, for the Lord, that the Word can penetrate.

The feasts show what Jesus came and brought to men. We are heading towards tabernacles- the fullness or the glory of God filling the whole house.

I can't wait.

MATT. 5:18.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law,
till all be fulfilled.
